🍃+ Soul?
Haha rogue question but know there’s a huge garden+running community, wondering if anyone has any experience (good or bad) with a garden soul ride 💀 not entirely sure if I’d love or hate

Having a job offer/acceptance dilemma and need help navigating.
I have been trying to get into a fully client-facing role (post sales relationship management vibe) for years. I had to leave my job earlier this year due to a health issue but am doing better and landed a job a few weeks ago at a very large, reputable company doing something I’m not absolutely thrilled about, but it would be fine and tolerable, similar to my last roles but pays much better. I accepted it because it’s a great and stable company plus would be more predictable hours based on the job scope (which may be helpful as I continue to recover healthwise).
Towards the end of the big company process I got an interview for a series C post-sales role that really aligned with what I’ve been trying to do for years and I was super excited about. When I received the offer for this big company job I tried to extend the deadline for the offer as much as possible to see how far I could make it on the startup job, but couldn’t extend any further so I accepted the big company offer.
Well, I just found out I made it to the in-person final round of the startup while I’m set to start the big company job in 3 weeks. Of course I have to land the startup one still, but thinking ahead, hypothetically how catastrophic would it be to retract my offer acceptance at the huge company….? This big company owns a lot of portfolio companies but all within the industry I’d like to eventually move away from. How bad of a look is it to retract an offer so close to the start date, and how dumb would it be to go for an early-ish stage startup versus a HUGE established company? On one hand I feel like this huge company will survive having to hire again for this one mid-level role but I also would prefer to not be blacklisted for years to come if that’s a thing.
Any and all insight is much appreciated!
(Other details: compensation and benefits is a little better at startup but both are good enough. More days in office at bigger company. Excited to grow with a company but not if that means more instability or unpredictability.)
Been on prednisone for 3 months (up to 40mg) and finally have made it down to 10mg without feeling horrendous. So excited to see the light to be off of it for hopefully a long time.
What do people recommend for post-Prednisone recovery, such as getting rid of the water weight (+puffy face), feeling mentally normal, darkened facial hair fading, etc? How long did it take for the main side effects to subside, and anything to speed up the return to normal?
Looking for best NYC chiropractors that take insurance for general adjustment maintenance.
Bonus if they offer other therapies (shockwave, cupping, etc) out of pocket while you're there. Thx!
Looking for rec for a chiro/PT in NYC that does myofascial/active release, shockwave, graston, etc (not just adjustments) in-network in insurance. I've been to Warrior NYC and Fuel Sport and Spine but both are self-pay and very expensive.

The idea of reading as well as the description of books always sounds WAY more fun and interesting than it actually is to sit down and start. How do you readers get/stay motivated to read?? I have about 5 books in my old kindle that sound great but sitting down to read them feels like such a chore.
Trying to start with 10 pages a day but sometimes that even feels hard! Would love any tips from readers/people that got themselves into reading!
Fitness/workout class clubs for girls?
I am aware of the club athletic squads but would love to know if anyone has fitness club recs for 25-35 year old gals! Like a run club but we do classes together. Does this exist or do any groups do this occasionally?? Club athletic seems like the only obvious one
Thank you 💕

How or where do people get started instructing fitness in NYC? Seems like most or all studios require at least a year of teaching experience to even get started/enter training.
My favorite is anything rhythmic/ beat-based; my favorites are spin, tread, Pilates, sculpt. I am aware of the intensive Soulcycle training process (amidst the corporate chaos happening with them now), so that may not work with my 9-5. I am not interested in pursuing the Cyclebar process for many reasons.
Would love to hear about any info for any fitness modalities (except yoga flow, yoga sculpt is fine) on how to break in to be considered as a brand new instructor (though I know I’d do it well), whether that’s networking, taking a ton of classes and getting to know instructors/staff, etc. I’m also curious about getting a NASM/ACE certification
Thanks!
I am considering what a move from NYC to SD would look like. I currently live in NYC where social life is insanely fun and electric socially but as I mature I’ve been considering what a move to a sunnier, slower beach city would look like. (I understand this would be a huge switch up starting with needing a car!)
What is social life like in SD for young social people with no kids yet? Where do most 26-32 people live, what do they do for fun, what’s the weekend social life vibe… (Or lack thereof). Any and all info is great!
When Catholics say they support LGBTQ people but draw the line at medical changes (gender-affirming surgery, hormones) because that’s changing what God intended for them to be… how bigoted is that? And how should we argue against that?
As a straight cis Christian I recognize I will never fully understand this lived experience and my role is to love and support everyone I encounter as they do what makes them happy and content and fully themselves. I feel hesitant when believers say “I support people loving and marrying whoever they want and dress/express themselves however they want but changing themselves medically to be a different sex is not what God intended for them when they were born”. They usually include aesthetic plastic surgery in this conversation too in saying “all medical changes solely for aesthetic/looks (not health) are not what God intended”.
I feel rather ignorant on this discussion in general just being a straight cis person, but what do most trans people feel about changing God’s assigned sex? I recognize how deeply painful gender dysphoria is and how gender-affirming surgery leads to infinitely more self contentment and happiness; I’d love to just learn more about this journey in order to be able to support my trans peers and also hopefully correct any bigoted/hypocritical Christians who say these things.
I really want to learn more about the history of Israel/Gaza/West Bank and how those nations have interacted/evolved/came to be in their current state over time. I want to be able to understand the history of how things have ended up where they are now.
I really cannot deal with any propaganda so would love a very truthful factual book about general West Bank history. Would also take a podcast instead if anyone has a good one. Thx!
With Evelyn leaving in shambles and a bunch of studios closing I'm feeling bummed out about how much Soul has dropped off. Do we think we will ever get back to what we used to be? I only started riding in 2018 and those years until covid were ELECTRIC but hear before that it was even more amazing. NYC seems to still be doing alright in its few super popular studios but sounds like everywhere else is struggling at least a little. Do we think the pilates/sculpt craze will die down and people will eventually return to cardio!
Let me start by saying movement/working out in any capacity is always a good thing. People should find what they like and stick with it if it makes them happy/helps them be motivated to exercise and feel good. I also recognize some things just aren’t my cup of tea and that’s okay. Regardless of how I feel, Cyclebar is a good thing. However, I have always wondered if anyone agrees with me, or if I’m being nitpicky/unreasonable.
I’ve tried Cyclebar so many times to see if I’d like it- it’s objectively less expensive than Soul, so would be nice to work that into the schedule here and there if it was good. However, I’ve found the workout not very challenging, the instructors just a bit odd, and the music always sub par. I’ve tried several studios and instructors across NYC and just really can’t get behind it. I know CB fans would say Soul is “dangerous” the way we ride fast paced with less resistance, but I really struggle to feel absolutely winded AND empowered at CB like I do at Soul. The numbers kill the vibe too and allow for more comparison. I have been to their number-less “Connect” ride, but the ride itself without numbers is still just not challenging. And even with the number-based ride, the bikes are so inconsistent/uncalibrated/the numbers jump around or randomly go up or down so I can’t even sync up to what they want me to do if I wanted to. Some instructors have even made the disclaimer that the bike’s numbers can be weird/jump around/are just a general guide, so why aren’t those monitors being fixed or what are we doing here for this numbers-based ride. Anyway, I’ve found even when I turn up resistance it really is not as athletic, challenging, empowering, or fun (!!) as Soul.
Heard a lot of things about how whack the CB management/instructor politics is too, but of course not the point here. I find I’m able to connect easily/feel the genuineness from 99% of instructors I take at Soul, and I just don’t as readily get that from CB. No hate to them, just feels like a very different experience.
Anyway, curious what any other Soul lovers think or how they compare the two!
Church girlies clock in!
(Note: raised United Methodist at a Texas megachurch, cannot stand the hypocritical/bigoted BS of a lot of big evangelical churches, open to any Protestant denomination - need a place with values that actually align with Jesus)
THANK U 💕💕💕
Looking for someone that does acupuncture somewhere in or near Plano (I'm on Parker and Preston but willing to travel 20ish min for someone great). Looking to treat anxiety and allergies with needles, acupressure would an added bonus. Acupuncture worked well for my symptoms in the past when I lived elsewhere, but I need a provider in this area now.
I really want someone who will just do needles and not push herbal medicine onto me. I've found a lot of acupuncturists can get really forceful with buying their specially made herbs. I understand there are potential great benefits of these herbs, but I'm currently working through potential allergy-related toxic pneumonitis with my (western) medical providers so I don't need to add more substances to the current regimen for now. They've also made me feel pretty ill when I used them in the past for my symptoms. Just the needles consistently has worked great for me previously.
Ideally someone within Aetna network, but if you love someone out-of-network pls still lmk. (note: I've been to Chinese Medicine Wellness Center of America on Spring Creek but did not love the herb pushing)
TYIA!
