Cooling performance: Noctua NL-LC1-24 vs. NH-D15 G2 - which is better?

Which one has better cooling performance, NL-LC1-24 AIO (240mm) or the NH-D15 G2?
How about noise normalized?

I haven't found any good comparison benchmarks so far... only comparisons versus other AIOs...

Noctua's own performance rating of the NL-LC1-24 is 210 points, while the NH-D15 G2 has 228 points.
Does that mean the D15 G2 is better? In what context? Max fanspeed or also noise normalized?

Waarom starten mensen een thread en verwijderen dan hun eigen beginpost? Dit is zo irritant

Zelfde vraag als de post van OP in de afbeelding. Omdat OP zelf zijn post verwijderde.

Keycaps: Black on white or white on black?

Which color keycaps would you prefer, assuming that any “real” color is not an option?

Black letters on white keycaps or white letters on black keycaps?

And perhaps even more important, why?

Upgraded all casefans to G2 and upgraded the case itself

Changed from my 15 years old SilverStone Raven RV03 maxed out with Chromax Black to a Fractal Meshify 3 maxed out with Chromax Black G2. Seems that PC cases have come a long way, material quality and finishing is a lot better. I really have to get used to the IO panel at the back instead of the top. Still running my beloved EVGA!

I followed this guide for fan layout to optimize airflow: https://www.noctua.at/en/expertise/blog/best-fan-setup-fractal-design-north

Specs:

  • Fractal Design Meshify 3 (full metal side panels)
  • 5x Noctua Chromax Black G2 (140mm)
  • 1x Noctua Chromax Black G2 (120mm)
  • Intel Core i7 13700K (with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and contact frame)
  • Noctua NH-D15S Chromax Black with upgraded G2 fan
  • NZXT N7 Z790 motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x 16GB)
  • Samsung 990 Pro 4TB
  • EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
  • FSP Hydro Ti PRO 1000W PSU
  • No RGB

Ordered only fans!

Going to max out my new Fractal Meshify 3 case with these! Any tips?

How often should you clean your keyboard?

It’s been almost a year for me since I cleaned my keyboard. There was a ton of crap under the keycaps. Just quickly using the brush attachment of my vacuum cleaner after removing all the keycaps got rid of >90% of all debris (second picture).

It really surprised me how much gets stuck there… how often should you clean it to keep it tidy?

I washed the keycaps in some soapy water and let them dry now. What way do they dry faster, keycaps upright or upside down?

PC case dilemma: Fractal Meshify 3 or HAVN BF360 - best airflow and fan options?

I've been looking for a new PC case for some time and narrowed down my choices between the HAVN BF360 and the Fractal Meshify 3. My intention is to fill the case up with fans. Some of them will be coming from my current case, which are Noctua fans, probably going all Noctua.

How well do these two cases stack up against each other with all fans installed?

I found out that the HAVN BF360 has 180mm fans in the front. Is that a common fansize or will it be hard to find good aftermarket fans for it? The alternative option is to install 3x 140mm fans instead. Would 3x 140mm perform as well as 2x 180mm?

I'm going to put my old PC hardware in there for now, but will upgrade later on (hoping that RAM/VRAM prices will calm down). Looks don't really matter that much to me, but the Meshify 3 has the slight edge, since they have a full metal option without glass side panel.

ETA: I'm currently using a Noctua NH-D15S and don't have any plans for water cooling, so I don't have to factor in space for radiators.

Upgraded the fan on my NH-D15S Chromax Black

The new fan (NF-A14x25r G2 PWM chromax.black) seems to be cooling slightly better, so it can run at a lower RPM. That’s nice, but it also has a slightly higher frequency sound profile, which is more noticeable. Is that normal?

Tonearms: s-shape with removable headshell vs straight with fixed headshell - which do you prefer?

Which type of tonearm do you prefer? And why?

I’m still undecided so I got both…

My best all-round cartridge: Denon DL-103R

The Denon DL-103R is not my best cartridge, but it actually is my best allround cartridge. It’s not the most detailed nor the most accurate. But it turns any record into a satisfying listening session. No matter the quality or music genre. I keep coming back to this simple yet elegant cartridge.

What’s your favorite allround cartridge?

Redshift ShockStop suspension stem - does it work or is it a gimmick?

What the title says.

It seems like a gimmick to me, but it would be kinda nice if it really works.
Does anyone have experience with this? Does this come with any drawbacks?

Got some native gold this time.

These are made of “ducat gold”, which is 23.7k (986). Slightly different shade of gold than your regular 24 and 22k bullion. Twice the gold content of a regular Dutch Ducat, hence the name Double Ducat. They’re low premium here in The Netherlands.
