My collection

I was a fan of dratini when my uncle who worked at KFC got me the dratini plushi in 98, and dragonite became my favorite once I saw him and realized he was dratinis evolution. So I have a little section in my book shelf of this.

Can you just upload yourself singing acapella and they just produce a beat around the exact recording or no?

I know we can upload our voices and prompt things and use our own records for samples and covers that are different but was curious if i suno can just keep the exact audio for the vocals and make a instrumental around it.

[Biblical review] Did God really lie about what would happen when eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

There's a common argument that has been going around; that in Genesis, God lied about the consequence of eating the fruit.

To steelman the argument, people point to Genesis 2:17; which is often translated like;

>but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.

They argue "It says in the day they will certainly die, meaning they will die that day" and they point out how they didnt die that day so God is a liar. Now its understandable why they think this, however theres this to consider;

In the hebrew language are these things called "infinitive absolutes," where a hebrew word is repeated to relay inevitability, certainty, or that it's going to eventually happen. So say we we're in ancient Israel and you wanted to ensure a friend you will eventually come back, one way you would say this in hebrew would be שֹׁ֣ב אָשׁ֤וּב, which reads in English straightforward as "returning I will return."

In the hebrew text, God says but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you must not eat from for in the day you eat of it מוֹת תָּמוּת, or straightforward, "dying you shall die." It's a hebrew infinitive absolute, which is why the vast majority of translations translate it as "certainly die" or "surely die" because these infinitive absolutes relay inevitability, or something that's going to eventually happen. So if I was an ancient Hebrew and I wanted to relay to somebody death would be inevitable or would eventually die, or in other words, lose access to immortality, one way I could say that is מוֹת תָּמוּת. So rather than understanding this as you will die that day, it can be understood as that would be the day death would be an inevitable or eventual outcome to them. Or in other words, they will lose access to the ability to be immortal.

This is why in the day they ate from that tree was the same day they lost access to the tree of life that enabled them to live forever (Genesis 3:22.) They initially had full access to this tree of life, with God explicitly saying it is theirs for food in Genesis. They were set up to have the ability to live forever, but they lost access to that, and death became inevitable and a certain outcome to them, in the day they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Thats not some crazy coincidence, but exactly what God was telling them would happen. The context is right there in our faces reinforces this, giving us a more simple explanation (which occums razor suggest would be the most likely explanation) , than one where the author was intending to contradict themselves by saying God doesn't lie but also demonstrating he lied?

I see this argument all over reddit, largely repeated by atheist, and I see many theist don't have a proper response to them as they're not familiar with the hebrew, so I figured I'd share this.

What are these stains?

I've been in my apartment for over a year and I just noticed these dark stains come around the toilet on the vinyl flooring. I'm trying different things but can't get the stains out. Is this Pee or is this an issue with the toilet ring? Any recommendation to get it out or does it have to get cut out or something.

From the first set of pokemon plushis (from KFC) Here's mine.

My uncle who worked at KFC got me this dratini back in the late 90s. The dratini/dragonite line has been my favorite since. I'm pretty sure these KFC toys were the first plushi toys (at least in the US.) There was also Seel, Zubat, and Vulpix.

How should I go about turning this into a bong?

It's glass cup. The way the hole for the straw is angled in a way that if there was a bowl slider there that it would be burning your face. Is there a bowl slider that curves down and out, or should I try making the mouth piece where the stem goes and smoke out the straw area? Not sure how to go about this and looking for advice.

Would having something on top of the shelf look better or no? If so, what do you recommend?

Not sure what I should do so I'm looking to see what other people think?

Alternative shelving unit? (35 YO Man)

The corner shelving unit i have here was my great grandmother's she left behind when she passed and I've just kinda been using it and kept some of her stuff on it. I posted on another sub about advice if I should put a skateboard deck hanging up on the wall to the right, inside the walkway, and the top comment was saying it would clash with my "nans corner shelf unit" and so now I'm second guessing keeping this and just getting something else. It doesn't have a crazy deep sentimental value, other than it was just one of many things I have left that was my great grandma's. Should I keep it, or should I get a different corner shelving unit? If so what should I look for? Or should I just have nothing in the corner?

Thoughts about putting a skateboard deck I used to ride here?

I used to ride a board like Pic 2 and was thinking about having it hang on the wall that's like a mini hallway into my room. Thoughts? I wasn't a hard-core skater (I sucked at tricks) and haven't skated in years, but I did like skating a lot and thought the Nostalgia and color scheme would go well with everything. Looking to get others opinions if I should do this or something else.

Torah Perspective: Aliens, Space Travel, & a Repitilian Humanoid.

Long before the Torah was written, there was only the oral Torah. The written Torah is just the Torah in brief, but the preserved oral teachings expand on the Torah in full. Without the oral tradition, we don't even understand what the written hebrew letters and words even mean, as the text didn't contain vowels or consistent vocalization.

Even Jesus himself legitimize the oral tradition, as he recognized the Pharisees "sat on the seat of Moses", a position not in the written Torah, but only in the oral tradition. The oral torah existed in Jesus time and he had nothing bad to say about it in the Christian gospels. There is also archeological proof that Jews had preserved such oral teachings across centuries; See Dead Sea scroll manuscript 4Q372 dated around 2nd century bce, speaking of a suffering Josephite figure, which was never explicitly in the written Torah, but an oral tradition per rabbinic authorities like Yalkut Shimoni on Isaiah (section 499).

So while one may disagree with specific rabbinic interpretations, the existence of ancient oral tradition alongside the written text is supported by the evidence, and what well respected classic Jewish authorities had to say, who dedicated their life to their faith and to educate in the oral traditions, should at least be considered. & some of the contents you find is very interesting;

Judges 5:20 & 23 it says;

>They fought from heaven (or sky); the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. -- Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the Lord, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord against the mighty.

According to the oral Torah, as documented in Moed Katab 16a, there are 2 main schools of thought. One being that it refers to a man that was ostracized because he did not join the war efforts. However the verse talking about the inhabitants of Meroz makes this questionable. The other school of thought explicitly states

>And others say that the reference is tona star (or planet) and not a human being, and that it did not aid the Jewish people in their battle, as it is stated "The stars fought from heaven; in ther courses they fought against Sisera (Judges 5:20) This star, which did not help the Jewish people, was cursed.

This suggest that Meroz is another planet, and it's inhabitants some how could have traveled to earth and help the Jewish people in war, but didn't, and were cursed for it.

#Repitilian Humanoid

Per Genesis 2, God created the animals for Adam to have a helper to look over the garden of Eden. One of these animals was the serpent. It says in Genesis 3 it was the most intelligent of all the animals. It can even communicate with man. The oral Torah, see Bereshit Rabbah 20:5, says God made the serpent "King of the Beast." You couldn't ask for a better helper amongst the animals. God set up the serpent to be the most ideal helper amongst the animals. It was the king of the beast, the most intelligent, could communicate with man, but not only that... it even walked upright like man.

Bereshit Rabbah 20:5

>I made you such that you would walk upright like man, but you did not want it; now, “on your belly you shall go.”

So here we have this reptile thing. That walks upright like a man. It talks like a man. And it's incredibly intelligent like a man. God made it very human like and resemble a human. Perhaps making it resemble man since humans tend to be more comfortable with familiarity.
