A reminder for myself first

Every struggle starts with the eyes.

If you struggle, always just remember the Ayah: Surah An-Nur 24:30

Read through it and you'd be reminded.

I use Quran Gate app to push me back to Quran. Since then, I'm on 21 days streak and reading qur'an constantly. Highly recommended🌹

May Allah make it easy for all of us.

Before looking for the right spouse, I realized I needed to work on myself first

Assalamualaikum,

Like many people here, I've spent a lot of time thinking about marriage and what I want in a future spouse.

Recently, though, I started asking myself a different question:

"Am I becoming the kind of person that a righteous spouse would want to marry?"

It's easy to make lists of qualities we want:

Good character

Strong deen

Kindness

Patience

Emotional maturity

But developing those qualities in ourselves is much harder.

One thing I've been trying to improve lately is my relationship with the Quran.

I noticed that I could spend plenty of time on my phone every day, but often struggled to spend even a few minutes reading Quran consistently.

The verse in the screenshot really made me reflect on the type of tranquility and guidance I want in my future marriage.

I'm curious:

For those who are married, or actively preparing for marriage, what habits helped you become a better spouse before marriage even happened?

May Allah grant all of us righteous spouses and homes filled with sakinah🤲

Try reading quran everyday, it's brings miracle to your life

I'm so disappointed in myself

I spend hours on social media

YET

I don't read a single line of Quran 😥

I was surfing like always the other day and notice a free, no ads app which helps you read Quran on a daily basis

It even blocks your distracting apps so and you can only unlock them by reading Quran.

I currently have a streak of 9 days✌🏻 inshallah I'll keep it and will read everyday.

Anyone else spending more time scrolling than reading Quran?

I checked my screen time and honestly, felt embarrassed 😞

I was spending 1–2 hours every day just doomscrolling

Then I asked myself:

How much time did I spend with the Quran this week?

I think we all know the answer here 🙈

As Muslims we all know the importance of Quran, but somehow social media keeps taking priority.

Then I started looking for ways to change it n found sth that actually helped me.

Eventually, found a productivity app which is really simple:

  1. You choose distracting apps (Reddit, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, shopping apps, etc.) and set a daily limit.
  2. When you reach that limit, your apps will be locked til
  3. you read Quran before unlocking those apps again.

What I liked is that it supports multiple translations including Indian languages, tracks your Quran reading streak, and doesn't show ads while reading.

I've been much more consistent with Quran since using it.

May Allah make us among the people of the Quran. 🤲

I spend more time scrolling in one day than Quran in one month!!!

Assalamualaikum ✋🏻,

I had a pretty uncomfortable realization recently.

I saw I spent almost 3 hours on Instagram in a single day.

THREE hours 😱

Then I asked myself

"When was the last time I opened the Quran?"

Honestly couldn't remember.

Not because I don't love Islam.
Not because I don't believe.

Just because scrolling became my default habit.

Wake up → phone
Bored → phone
Waiting → phone
Before sleep → phone

The Quran somehow became "sth I'll do later."

That realization bothered me enough that I started looking for ways to force myself to read at least a little Quran every day.

I've managed to build a 9-day streak so far Alhamdulillah by using Quran Gate app.

Still struggling, but it's honestly better than doing nothing.

Does anyone else feel like social media slowly steals the time they wanted to spend with Allah?

Assalamualaikum
As a Muslim I struggle a lot and found out recently I've been spending TOO MUCH TIME SCEOLLING, watching endless reels

BUT

Wallahai i don't spend even a minute reading Quran.

I felt guilty
And wanted to change it.

I decided to create an app designed to
TURN YOUR SCREENTIME INTO READING QURAN

very simple,
You just install, select distracting apps (social media, online shopping etc), set a duration and let it go.

When you reach your limit, you need read Quran (as much as you want) and unlock your apps.

Like Instagram stories, but you read Ayahs and Surahs with translation.
You see how long you've been reading Quran and you can share it with others.

It's called Quran Gate
No ads, and you can select one distracting app to limit COMPLETELY FREE forever.

Thanks for your attention, may Allah bless us all❇️❤️🌹
