Large Faye More On Salw

The large Faye is even more on sale than it was—now $159. Just ordered the black with silver, but all colors are currently available. I saw this in store and it is beautiful. Also if you need a medium length black strap with silver hardware (as I do) this has it.

Small Ella in Redwood: Worth The Wait

I’ve had my eye on this bag for months but was waiting for it to go on sale. It went down $30 (to $169) last week and I finally gave in and ordered it. They didn’t have any small Ellas or anything in Redwood at either of the outlets near me, so I wasn’t able to see it in person before ordering. Honestly, I half planned to return it once it arrived (mostly because bad things happened at my job over the past two months so I really should be saving rather than spending—anyone need an instructional designer???) But yeah, I will be keeping this.

I’ve seen others complain about the way the Redwood leather feels, though I have zero complaints. To me it feels just like other outlet leathers. It slouches with just a few items inside, and it’s less “burnished” and more “the color changes with light and shadow”. If not for the logo, this would feel more retail than outlet.

The ILoveDooney Site Is Making Me Crazy!

Yeah. I think I'm done. I check the I Love Dooney site near-daily trying to find a good deal on a bag. I'm pretty flexible--I want a satchel and I don't want to pay $400 for it because that's nuts. I used to collect Dooney bags back in 2020 and they were less than half that. I've had my eye on a Sorrento 30, which is a satchel. Here's the experience I've been having trying to buy ONE bag:

Every morning they have ONE SINGLE Sorrento 30 in Fuchsia, and then by the time I put it in my cart it is gone. I do this at 4:30am because that's when I get up. Anyway--this morning there appeared to be several colors, and the price on the main page said $139 - $398. Not a single color was $139. Ok. So pass on that then.

So I get back online later when I have a moment--just now--and find this satchel. Note the number of colors and the price in the first pic. That's the main Clearance tab page. But when you click on it (photo 2) there one color, that color wasn't in the initial list, the price is different, AND IT SAYS BOTH IN STOCK AND SOLD OUT AT THE SAME TIME.

I feel like I'm losing my mind. But I think I'm done with Dooney. This shopping experience is ridiculous.

Anyone else noticing this?

Oh--and then I see people on social media saying oh I got this on sale and with a coupon code. HOW? There are no working coupon codes anymore. BLARG!

Sorry, I get this is a first world problem, but it should NOT be this hard to exchange money for a purse.

Bags coming in and out of stock?

How often do specific styles/colors go in and out of stock, specifically on I Love Dooney? I get that no one can answer me with certainty, but based on your observation--is this common? I ask because I'm trying to avoid other-brand style FOMO (rhymes with Broach) so when I see a bag I like, I think about it for a while. Based on what I've observed just in the past twelve hours, I can't do that with Dooney either. Specifically: the Sorrento Leather Satchel is currently on sale. Last night they only had it in red. Ok, so I thought about owing a red bag and played around with what that could look like with charms and chains etc (I use AI; it's helpful.) Decided yes, I wanted the red bag. Ok. Went online to buy it this morning, and they had like five other colors. Including hot pink--called Fuchsia. So I did a bit of research on THAT--I like to see them "in real life", so I look for videos. Decided yes, I want the PINK BAG. And yup, that's gone now too.

So. When I see a bag I want, do I have to grab it? I ask because I'm either going to do just that or give up on handbags all together. Because I'm so desperately tired of that game. I want to consider a hundreds-of-dollars purchase before making it.

It's not a huge sale, but it is down $30 from the original $199 price. I've been waiting for this bag to go on sale for FOREVER, so I'm going to go for it. The espresso one is also on the same sale. Note: I found this by filtering by percent off (choose the 50% - 60% off option). When you simply search for this bag regularly, it doesn't appear to be on sale. No idea why that is, but I got it in my cart at the sale price. Weird.

Long story short: I manifested what basically translates to a basic income for me--a side gig which covers my base living expenses. I did this so quickly and easily I almost don't want to talk about it but yeah, that happened. Like I wrote down the number I'd need to feel safe every month and the next day an old connection called and offered me exactly that much do to some projects for them. Said side gig may grow in a direction I'm excited about, so yay.

But my current primary job has gotten laughably bad. Like I literally couldn't turn my work computer on yesterday--that's just one very small example, but it honestly feels like metaphorical walls are being put up directly in front of me every time I try to do that job. They also restructured and cut our pay. It's all very bad and was WHY I was trying to manifest other income in the first place. But I'm still working there of my own free will.

Am I ignoring--for lack of a much better term--"signs from the universe" that ok, you want out of that job, here ya go. You are going to struggle with it SO HARD that you will quit! Like--is the universe quietly firing me? And I'm not listening?

There's more that happened around this in an manifestation sense but that's my first question. And I'm new here so I'll keep it at that for now. But yeah, there are other things I'm saying no to which may be (ok, which ARE) what I'm actually trying to manifest. That's bad, right? Saying no when your manifestations happen?

You guys—men’s bags, like men’s clothing, have POCKETS! It’s awesome! Anyway—so I decided that I was never going to find a Dakota. And I thought maybe all I wanted was something from the men’s line that I could add a silver chain to. So I got the pebbled olive Finn online the other day. And I love it. I ordered it a leather strap and chain, and while I waited for that to arrive I had to go to the outlet to return my pink bags. And I happened upon the Finlay with charms. And it was under the wrong price sign and they honored the wrong price so it was a good deal—both of these bags together cost less than ONE of the two pink bags I returned.

I love them both but I don’t NEED them both. So which one goes back? I cannot decide. They are both so good.

I genuinely don’t know if I’m being rational or just stubborn at this point, and I have basically no one in real life I can talk this through with.

My company seems to be making a very intentional effort to get people like me to quit, but because the job market in my field is rough, I’ve kept hanging on.

In just the last month:

•	My pay was effectively cut by about 40% because of billing structure changes

•	We were restructured AGAIN, so I now have a brand-new manager and was moved to yet another completely different regional team

•	They redesigned my exact role, reposted it internally with slightly different wording, and then (apparently by accident) encouraged me to apply for it

For context:

I’ve been with this company for 10 years.

I’m classified as “per diem” (part-time), but in practice I’m treated like a full-time employee in every way except the ones that would actually benefit me (benefits, security, stability, etc.).

I’m expected to:

•	Be available across time zones

•	Accept meetings dropped onto my calendar with no notice

•	Function with wildly inconsistent workload demands

In ten years, I’ve had zero meaningful growth opportunities despite actively trying. I’ve applied internally for other roles and have only ever received form rejection emails.

And the frustrating part is: I am objectively very good at my job. This is not ego. My performance metrics back that up.

Financially, this is where things are getting scary:

Because of seasonality, my income has always fluctuated. Some months I’ve made $6,000+, which helped offset slower months.

This month? About $400 total.

Historically, the higher-earning months made the lean months survivable. But with the recent pay cut, I no longer think that model works.

Translation: I’m increasingly convinced this job is no longer financially sustainable.

I’ve tried building alternative income streams, but it’s hard to gain traction when this job still demands constant availability while offering almost no real stability.

Current reality:

•	I have one side gig that covers my absolute bare minimum expenses

•	That side gig could potentially grow

•	I’m also trying to build a consulting business

•	I have about a year of savings/emergency fund (possibly more when factoring in side income)

•	My living expenses are very low (no kids, no debt, paid-off home, housemates)

So I’m not in immediate danger.

But:

•	I’m not young

•	I’m a woman

•	I have an advanced degree and decades of experience

•	My field is rough right now

•	Traditional job replacement would likely be difficult

I am absolutely unwilling to return to K-12 teaching (left 15 years ago, not happening), though I would do something like retail if necessary.

So I guess my real question is:

At what point do you stop trying to force a failing job to work and just walk away?

Would you stay, keep juggling, and try to build other things slowly?

Or does this already sound like one of those situations where staying is actually the bigger risk?

Not participating in today’s drop because you don’t have $1500 to spend on a bag right now? Same. So join me as I instead shop the deeply discounted outlet bags which usually go on sale on drop days. I check the sales near daily and can confirm these are the lowest prices I’ve seen for these bags. Happy discount shopping! (Personally I’m trying to decide between the very large and the very small Hadley)

Update/Edit: I got the Finn in pebbled olive. I always root for the underdog!
