New post from Dragons' dogma twitter. It seems we're getting hard mode separately
I was born in America but after my parents divorced at age 8 I lived in Japan up until now.
My mother never really wanted to do anything with me and i also just assumed we were poor now since i lived with a single mom i never really had any hobbies or Interests besides playing on a Nintendo i got pre divorce. I maintained my English and also became fluent in Japanese, that's really all i got going as a grown ass 21 yr old.
going back like half a decade, my mother funneled all her resources into getting me into cram school as any Japanese mother does and I miraculously got into like a top 5 school in Japan. Hurray. Except everybody there was lowkey not only smarter but had lives beyond cram school studying, and in the meanwhile i was basically a moron with 0 identity for the next 2 years.
I basically lost my mind after that as I was forbidden to date girls or get a job or even find a hobby at that because my mother said "i needed to study more" and she paid the bills anyways. I also had no friends either because of Covid online classes + i had no phone so until highschool so i never really oriented with that kind of stuff.
So one day i just quit school as i really just couldn't accept that the rest of my life was just going to be chasing funny numbers with 0 personality until a relative hooked me up with some lady and i start a family and restart the cycle. I literally just couldn't bring myself to keep going to a place i neither belonged or wanted to be in.
Then I thought i'd indulge in my Interests and figure out what i'd want to do, except i was beginner at literally everything i tried and knew nothing about anything besides what i learned until i was like 16 (I started to get bad grades by 17 as i lost Interest in school too).
I gradually just turned into this person who made poor attempts at things as i did the most minimal amount of working to fund my indulgences. Fastforward 3 years, and basically I'm exactly where i started but without the youthful energy to try new things. It's been especially rough this year as I met my cousin who got into a similar school bur was doing happy just being a good student and nothing more. Maybe my white genes got to me. They say depression is for white people anyways.
Right now I've applied part time to community college in America at my paternal families' place. I don't know what to do, my Father has long remarried and doesn't have time for my bullshit. I just want guidance on how to turn my life around for the better.
Guys wth man. It's a friends sub not a fwb sub 😭
I don't think im an amazing person but at least i haven't been creepy with the people i met on Reddit. This isn't really a shameless plug or a "oh im better" post (though i think that bar is low). Idk ig i want to say not everybody ever is out there soliciting weird stuff.
Title. I'm 21M and feel extremely lonely as I prepare to get my life together. I don't intend to be constantly dramatic or trauma dumping all the time, I have hobbies, even if they give lonely and mentally ill, and of course I am willing to talk to and not ghost strangers.
With that out of the way, WTH am I supposed to do? Do I just have to be a basement dweller til one day i magically get better like some people implied to me before? Or can I atleast piece a life together from where i'm at? What do I even do? People hate unemployed mentally ill people. I feel as though im bound to just being treated like a bum even if i try otherwise.
ingredients were Olive oil Thyme beets onion and Basa catfish
But then came the assfucker battalion.
Definitely got less creases once I started using the spray glue + what I assume is the walking foot. My new problem is that Despite everything the diamond shape kinda bunches together(far right on 3rd image)? will this fix once i get past the parts i didn't baste Initially, or is this an entirely different issue?
I learned how to screenshot! lol
But in all seriousness, I still have bad anatomy and shade like a total noob albeit better than when i started. Will I learn anything by just continuing to draw, or will I actually need to learn drawing techniques systematically?
If I need actual individual practice, how do I even learn?
I'm trying to sew a quilted jacket for larping, but the cloth started to roll up get caught as the length expanded. what did i do wrong, and do i have to start over?
Talos is really cool as a concept and has far better execution compared to Lao shan lun from Monster hunter. He just needed actual stakes and better narrative setup to work as a good "set piece boss".
I just think climbing a giant to reach it's weak spots in a set amount of time is a cool concept, especially paired with Dragons' dogmas combat mechanics. I would've enjoyed it more had it actually had stakes and difficultly
Here's my theory!
Basically, the seeker or whoever designed the DD universe made a system that repeats in ORDER to keep balance of the universe. The system is simple, find a guy to run the world(=seneschal). But how does it work?
The Dragon represents a supernatural evil. Duh. but why must they be evil? It's because in order to actually give a reason for the chosen arisen to fight. If it's just a job application to eternal deskwork, nobody is signing up. But why would a evil Dragon motivate anybody...?
EVERY Arisen you play (at least in base and 2) fights the Dragon in they're respective scenario to save somebody. In 1 it's the sea village, and in 2 it's Ulrika. That's the trigger. You have to try and save someone in order to fight grigori as an arisen. This is already part of the cycles' test, it's Basically personality filter #1.
3 ...and thus only you are able to fight Grigori. The personality test is why Edmunds' castles don't work and why the blue stones in dd2 can control pawns. The power of the arisen comes solely from the personality test in a way!
Here's where i think get's interesting... The stones in dd2 actually could control pawns but can't do shit about Nex (dd2 Dragon). Which is actually proof imo that you are required to be an arisen to actually be "part of the cycle". Pawns are, bluntly put, just pawns. You HAVE to pass test #1 to be apart of the cycle
4 the choice.
Aka personality filter #2. You're Basically tested once more, that you aren't corrupted by power(=arisen stat boost). what better way than saying "hey here's a get out of the contract + becoming king card... at the cost of Fournival?"(in the case of dd arisens. might change per in universe char since this is basd on Dragonforged dialogue)
This is basically conformed in the ring quest in dd1 if you pay attention to Dragonforged's dialogue. he literally says it's a test/challenge of a sort. (the beloved).
5 choice pt2
It also doubles as a check that you're still willing to put your life on the line for others. Dragonforged says he "discarded" is love and thus lost to the Dragon and becomes Dragonforged (=just fighting from duty). On the other hand, he says the test (=beloved) may give strength to the arisen or be his weakness. the later is when Edmund caves in and becomes duke, and former is Canon player arisen
6 Dragon fight
this is pretty straightforward. it's testing if you actually prepared.
7seneschal
here's where it's weird, but it still tracks. Basically you have to wrangle the current seneschal after everfall to prove you want to solve the worlds issue (=post Dragon fallout). in dd2 this doesn't happen as instead seeker wants you to be king. Since seneschal/Savan is an ex arisen who beat the personality tests and the test of might, you're Basically just fighting to determine who's better stock (and since you already beat the previous Dragon and know the rules, you become a Dragon if you lose to choose and guide future arisens)
That's my reasoning to my theory! thanks for reading my rant of a upjumped zealot, and comment you guys's take on it!
I just think it'd be more convenient when searching for ya'lls games to play if i could search by time frame like other subs ex, past yr
