how did I become a fortune telling employee?
I have been reading fortunes for years. Both a psychic and a social activity :)
I have been reading tarot cards since I was 17, and doing coffee cup readings since I was 8.
If you are wondering what kind of fortune-telling at the age of 8: I was the neighborhood housewives' go-to fortune teller as a kid -"the little one, innocent and just knows"- basically free labor... Every day, all the neighbors would drink coffee at my grandmother's house, and they would get their fortunes read one by one :(
Then, it feels like my whole life passed by reading for free for friends, and friends of friends. I kept doing it because it was fun. If they had a problem, we looked into how it would end. If they had a relationship, we sorted out the situation.
At some point, life suddenly became hard for me; my old luxurious life and successful career turned upside down. I was reduced to needing pennies, applying for jobs beneath my level -you know how life goes...
One of my very supportive friends, who has always been by my side, said to me, "Se**** and I are going to a fortune teller today, let's catch up afterwards."
The fortune teller we used to go to for fun back in the day, who charges 5 dollars for 5 minutes. The one who never gets anything right and brings bad energy.
Me, at that exact moment, with 50 cents in my pocket. Me, who tells her friends every long detail, who hits the future with pinpoint accuracy. Me, who gives warnings and offers guidance through tarot.
It wasn't meant out of spite, either... I just felt a bit strange. And as fate would have it, right at that moment, an ad for hiring fortune tellers popped up on my Instagram feed.
I applied; they requested test readings.
I passed, and we agreed on the terms. "Can you start right away?" they asked. "Sure," I said.
Without sleeping, I read fortunes for 9 people.
I am officially a fortune teller now. Just received first payment to my bank account.
I am putting my career into garbage bag. As well as my 'friends'.
:)
