My friend thinks I remembered his birthday for 12 years. I forgot it every single year.

Years ago I forgot one of my closest friend’s birthdays.

I felt terrible, so I immediately put a yearly reminder in my phone. Every year since, I’ve messaged him first thing in the morning. He’s mentioned several times that I’m one of the only people who “always remembers.”

I’ve never remembered once.

Last year we were talking about friendship and he actually used it as an example of how thoughtful I am.

I didn’t have the heart to tell him that somewhere inside my phone is a recurring notification doing approximately 90% of the emotional labour in our friendship.

The reminder is currently scheduled until 2032

Ref Blowing for Full Time While You’re Still Attacking

Watch the ref at the end of a game when the CPU is attacking. He’ll give them that extra bit of time to see the move through.

I get into the same position and suddenly he can’t blow the whistle quickly enough. I could be through on goal and apparently that’s the perfect moment to end the game.

It’s genuinely ridiculous. Same circumstances, completely different treatment because the AI apparently gets its own version of rules.

Ayrton Senna was a lefty. Somehow this makes him even more iconic

Random bit of F1 trivia, but I genuinely had no idea. Not sure how many F1 fans are in here, but Senna being a lefty is a pretty cool fact.

£55 a month for water when you live alone , is that normal?

I live alone, take one 10 min shower most days , don’t have a bath and don’t own a dishwasher. No leaks in my apartment & I’m being told £55 a month for water is reasonable. Anyone else living alone - what are you paying?

For what it’s worth , the company charging this is UNITED UTILITIES

2006 Kobe Was better than any version of Michael Jordan

If you’re old enough to have watched that season, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

The 81-point game. Averaging… what was it, around 35 a night? Yeah they fell short in the end, but look who he was playing with. Scrubs.
He still single-handedly dragged one of the worst Lakers team ever to the playoffs.

I could tell you why I think Nash really won that MVP… but that’s a conversation for another day

I genuinely think that version of Kobe was better than any prime version of MJ or LeBron. Not career or legacy- that version. That’s the highest individual peak I’ve ever seen on a basketball court

What’s your ultimate introvert nightmare?

I was reminded of something that made my introvert brain short-circuit.

I remember someone I used to work with telling me they and their spouse were going to spend the weekend driving to the other side of the country , to surprise a relative they hadn’t seen in years.

No call or text. Just turning up at their front door.

I couldn’t think of many worse things than someone turning up at my door unannounced, especially if I hadn’t seen them in years.

Do Americans Actually Like Their Political Parties?

From the outside, it often seems like many Americans criticize both major parties… yet elections still come down to those same two.
Do you genuinely support your party, or is it usually just choosing the option you dislike the least?

Has a team ever made you quit an entire game?

I started an all-time season on NBA 2K using the all-time Lakers, where every game was against another franchise’s all-time team. It was honestly one of the most fun and challenging saves I’ve done. Then I ran into the all-time Bulls. I quit 2nd quarter, switched to FIFA… and I genuinely haven’t played NBA since. Michael Jordan literally made me switch sport

Has a team ever made you quit an entire game?

I started an all-time season on HOF difficulty, using the all-time Lakers, where every game was against another franchise’s all-time team. It was honestly one of the most fun and challenging saves I’ve done. Then I ran into the all-time Bulls with Jordan, prime D-Rose, Pippen and the rest. I quit in the 2nd quarter, switched to FIFA… and I genuinely haven’t played NBA since. Michael Jordan literally made me switch sports

Tommy didn’t deserve to walk away

I know the common consensus is that "living with his sins" was the ultimate punishment. But let’s be real, he deserved a definitive downfall. After years of manipulation and sacrificing lives around him for selfish gain, we were owed a visual of his demise. Leaving his fate poetic just felt like a shield for a character who deserved total destruction

Why Is Honey In Coffee Controversial?

Every time I tell people I put honey in my coffee, they almost give me this look of genuine disgust. Meanwhile, they’ll happily pour in sugar, flavoured syrups, creamers, and who knows what else. I’m a grown-ass man. If I prefer honey over sugar , why is that so controversial?

Is there an actual explanation for the pushback or are people simply particular about their coffee?
