kind of treatment you get after failing an exam...
My background: so I am prepping for Germany, so learning its language.... cause there's an option to go to a private uni with English.... but I don't want to be a financial burden on my parents... thus I am going for a public uni....
I passed 12th this year itself.... during 12th, I tried doing A1/A2 on my own... naturally, it was hard to manage during 12th cause I used to worry about PCM more.... so u can say my roots in a new language are weak...
After my 12th, during the middle of June, I enrolled myself in a B1 batch.... so I studied B1 for 2.5 months and gave the exam on 1st Sept.... (for B1)
When the result came on 22nd Sept, I saw I had passed the written part but not the speaking part.... I was brutally devastated.... the kind of devastated where I locked myself in the bathroom for 1.5 hours and tried to hurt myself....
It might sound stupid, but think of it as ur desired exams like JEE or NEET... like since childhood, u only dreamed of going to IIT... and even after preparing seriously, u failed... and then seeing ur batchmates getting in and moving forward in their lives... doing all those next steps.....
I was so distressed that I kept shivering in the bathroom and didn't know what to do next...how to tell my parents etc etc. I cried like I had never cried before....
When my parents got to know, they were so broken. They kept telling me how I could give the exam again... no need to break down and stuff like that...
For 5–6 days after the result, I couldn't even sleep because lying down used to make me anxious....
My mom's comfort for me was for a day or two only.... at the time when I was sitting there lifeless all in tears with blood on my wrist, she said it happened because I am in a relationship.... still, she comforted me a lot tho... and said I could give it again if I wanted, or I could just give B2 now, it wouldn't matter....(comfort is only for a day....later ur pain is used against u, to taunt u )
My dad was blaming me from the very start, saying stuff like, "Tumne toh kaha tha tumhara achha gaya," and all.....
The fact which broke me the most is that my exam actually went well... and I actually studied hard for it, i fucking worked really hard......
RECENT SCENARIO: I have my B2 exam at the end of Nov.... imagine just having 2 months for B2.... (imagine the level of English ur speaking rn, that u learnt since childhood and having to prep for it in 2 months and pass the exam...)
I am really scared because if I fail this, I feel like I am over for life... my German dream will be over....
And my mom keeps taunting me. She doesn't talk to me nowadays, or would whisper things under her breath to taunt me when she goes by my side....
She would say things like, "Tumhare is baar bhi pass hogi ya nahi pata nahi... lagta toh hai nahi, pata nahi kya karti rehti hai raat raat bhar? Koi agar itna padhe toh kaha top kar jaaye, inse toh pass bhi nahi hua gaya."
How do I explain to her that it's not like PCM, where I can just memorize things for some time and pass? It's a fucking language. It actually needs time.... after failing B1, I have no confidence left... like literally none, and listening to all of this at home makes me even more anxious....
Dad works out of station, so usne toh itni baat nahi hoti... or else both mom and dad would have ended me here in this house....
I am anxious all the time staying in this house... like my heart beats so fast when I hear my mom coming towards my room. I always stay in that panic mode.... can't even have food without feeling guilty... it gets stuck in my throat....
I regret telling my parents the truth about failing... I could have just edited my result with ChatGPT.... cause B2 toh waise bhi dena hi tha....
If my parents had known I passed, the situation would have been different.... at least I wouldn't have had this stupid pressure over my head.... all this treatment is making me even less confident and more anxious about myself....
Sadly, I have always regretted speaking the truth in front of my parents.... every sort of pain is used against me....
But I have never regretted lying.
