I’m very insecure about asking for money from my readers, especially for digital content, but I’ve reached a place where I cannot afford it. I still want the story to be read for free for anyone who is interested, and I’m hoping somebody’s got one of those lifesaving advice for me. I did create Patreon and BuyMeaCoffee accounts, but nothing yet, which is fine, of course! But it does mean I’ll have to postpone this project for a job that pays, which would be very unfortunate. Anyway, what’s your advice? Should I be honest with my readers about needing support? Like, make a reel on instagram or post about it here? Or is there another way? Like maybe advice on doing commissions or getting a type of side-gig that wouldn’t get in the way of this project?

I’d like to animate all the main characters from my Indie Comic, but I have like 9 and I’m trying to do one every other week. I just started learning how the app works (ToonSquid. So far it’d been very reliable and easy to use) Which character should I do next?

I’m posting my work for free online, and I’d like to keep it that way, but I also need to make money somehow relating to this work I spend 9 hours a day on. I do have Patreon for early releases, and the uncensored version, but it’s quite inactive. What’s your advice and recommendation? Should I do commissions? Kickstarter? what’s the most reliable way to approach this? do I make an ad? should I talk to other artists online? I don’t need to make much, just enough to afford food, ya know?

I am new at this and hope it’s not a problem to promote myself a bit here. It’s a little embarrassing but I’m sure every creator can relate. I am completely independent, doing all of the writing and the art by myself for now. I release a 20-40 page chapter every month. It is free to read. (Eventually I want to collaborate with other artists, but for now I’m anxious about disappointing another creative, and maybe that’s due to being so new to this and I just need to get over it)

The story is about a blue girl who wakes up alone to a world where tears are currency. I shan’t say more, but the genre starts off as a dark fantasy, comedy and mystery, for now…
