Why are most of the Marian images in our country dressed in regalia?

I noticed na most of our crowned and widely celebrated images of Mary are dressed in a royal regalia ( I do not know what is the specific name of this type of fashion, nor its origins).

PCG on dry land

Seeing the PCG being deployed aling EDSA made me wonder about a few things. I'm aware that I lack the proper credentials to critique this decision of making them manage traffic up to the minute detail; pero it concerns me lang on a few aspects.

  1. Doesn't this make their training regarding maritime law dull or make it obsolete? Everyday they are exposed to traffic laws na eh, mamaya baka di na sila masanay sa maritime laws.

  2. Their role in our roads and highways are better fit for other, already existing agencies like the PNP-HPG, LGUs and their traffic arm, MMDA, etc. I think tuloy na theyare spread too thin na. I'm sure na may mas makabuluhang paglalagyan ng mga PCG personnel within their organization.

  3. This makes them be confused with their identity. I know na PCG is under the DOTr (this became a tradition na rin). However, hindi naman na tama na ang Coast Guard e taga-ayos na ng dry land. Parang self-contradictory na sila tuloy; the coast guard guarding our major highways.

I am not completely against the idea of the PCG performing duties on dry land, gaya ng pagbantay nila sa mga port terminals. Pero I see their deployment along EDSA as a lousy band-aid solution ng DOTr in trying to show they are doing something. At the expense nga lang of making the PCG handle things that are quite beyond their expertise. Better nalang if the DOTr would expand or create a separate unit that handles these kinds of stuff.

This leads us to my next question. Would it be better if the Philippine Coast Guard would be under the control of an another agency? The DILG, perhaps?

What do I do next?

I applied for the renewal of my NBI clearance with the same portal I used last year. This time, naninibago ako sa interface and I am very confused kung ano mangyayari next.

Pinindot ko yung prompt na iyon (see first image), followed the instruction and paid via Gcash. After that I was led na sa second image.

Ngayon I am very confused kase walang ibang sinabi na instruction kung anong time ako pupunta, ipipick-up ba, maski yung pagset ng appointment date wala.

So should I just walk in sa office?

What are the pros and cons of having the walls made out of bricks?

Hello po! I am not an architecture professioal nor student, and I am someone fascinated with architecture.

We recently went to a café that was built on what supposed to be a "ladrillo" structure. Seeing it, I've figured how nice it would be kung ganito ang magiging walls ng bahay na titirhan ko.

Then a thought came to mind, "bakit hindi na ganito ang gawa sa mga bahay ngayon?"

- Aside from the cost, what other factors deters the use of bricks in modern housing?

-What are the pros naman kung ganito ang walls ng isang bahay?

- If hindi problema ang pera at time, would the benefits outweigh the cons in having a house made out of bricks?

Sto. Niño de la Suerte

This image of the Child Jesus is a very prevalent devotion in the Philippines, even if the church had repeatedly forbidden and discouraged the devotion to this image.

The continued practice for this title and image just shows the poor and erratic interpretation of the doctrines of the church to the public. This fosters the belief of "suwerte" or luck, which in turn encourages the practice of superstitions.

Now this becomes a threat since people attribute blessings to luck, and undermines the grace of God.

P.S. This was taken in a relative's house.

Animosity among ASEAN neighbors

I came across this post by what appears to be a netizen from Malaysia (based on the details posted in his profile). He shared a news about the PAF's procurement of additional attack helicopters. Nagulat ako kase may mga sad reactions. Feeling ko nagooverthink lang ako, pero what gave it away na parang concerned sila, if not insecure, would be the tone and yung post script. I think it suggests na they are concerned with us buffing up our military.

As much as I want to give up the benefit of the doubt, it just occurred to me na this crab-mentality can be a flaw that could cause adverse effects on our end, in dealing with the WPS issue. And for me this is concerning.
What are your thoughts about this?

P.S. Ang ironic lang kase even us Filipinos are not safe from comparing our assets to our neighbors. Natatawa lang ako kase they are jealous about our procurement of additional units, whil tayo naman covets their fighter jets.

Vertical plant rack recommendations

May dalawa po akong tanong about dito:

1.) May alam po ba kayong product online na kagaya ng plant rack na ito? Or pinasadya yang wooden rack?

2.) May mairerecomend po ba kayong product or shop na nagbebenta ng similar na vertical plant rack?

P.S. may nakita akong iisang product online kaso masyadong mavaba for the height

References for MS Excel and Google Sheets tutorial

Hello pips!
May mga mairerecommend ba kayong links sa Yt, Fb, or kahit anumang platforms that provides a good tutorial when it comes to using Excel and/or Sheets?

Gusto ko na rin kaseng sanayin sarili ko in these aspects kase when it comes to other platforms gamay ko na; unlike ang Excel in which naco-confuse pa me.

Thank you in advance!
