I could smell the barbecue walking out the front door this morning... Googled and seeing fire alerts everywhere in Los Angeles County... https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/weather/2026/05/20/california-wildfire-updates-cal-fire-maps-containment/90173549007/
Temperatures in the 60s in the morning and the sun didn't come out until it was nearly noon, but hard-core waterslide fans were there at opening time... I recall there was supposed to be some type of "water park enhancement"... did that get pushed back to next year?

Walked past the Event Center to check out Soak City and to look for any cats hanging out after closing time. I found this adorable looking pair that turned out to be something else...
A small device appeared on the tracks and it's tethered by pulley cables to the top of the taller spike after the loop. I saw posts about a vehicle on the tracks and went to go check it out and it looks like clearance envelope testing may be coming soon. The new queue building under the tracks also looks to be coming along quickly for the opening that's being announced on park banners now.
You can see where the new concrete had been applied from the bright and clean painted areas. HangTime also open again after maintenance. Kinda slow in the morning, but busy now for the newly re-opened rides. All the signage has been taken off the former Johnny Rockets building, except for the clock.
The kittywampus disappeared earlier this year and then both were nowhere to be seen during the Boysenberry Festival. Now both are back and it appears the mom got some new hair extensions...
Caught two angles of the switch during a fluke of lucky timing... the mine ride is scheduled to be closed until May 1st, but all the bags of cement mix behind the construction walls imply a fair amount of work still needs to be done...
Knott's put up banners for the ride opening this summer, so they're committed now... the new queue is being built out under the north side of the green tracks… another Redditor in the Knott's sub noted that the station is having its new air gates installed on the west side of the tracks this time...
