Hips & arse protection for old timer returning [50YO]

Any recommendations for under shorts / pants protection for hips and arse? Old street skater returning for fun and fitness, seems I can still do pop shuvs, kick and heel flips etc but I’m too damn scared to land both feet on the board for fear of it shooting out from under me and destroying my hips or tailbone in the process. Thinking some protection might boost my confidence. Wrist guards I already have.

Help! All emails disappeared after creating a rule in Apple Mail

I have both an iCloud email account and Fastmail email account set up in Apple Mail (v 16.0) on my MacBook M2.

This morning I created a rule in Apple Mail to direct marketing emails from Linkedin coming into my Fastmail inbox – From / Contains / (at)linkedin – to go straight into my trash. However, as soon as I applied the rule all of my emails in my Fastmail inbox in Apple Mail disappeared.

I logged into my Fastmail account on a browser and luckily my inbox there was still intact, however I've just checked again and emails are now slowly disappearing from my Fastmail inbox too, I've currently lost all emails in my Fastmail inbox since February.

I've removed my Fastmail email account from Apple Mail in the hope they stop disappearing but obviously I need to retrieve the emails that have disappeared.

Any ideas??

Pushing foot versus stopping foot

Okay, so this is possibly gonna be one of the stupidest questions ever asked on here, but here goes…

Regular footed riders, when you come to stop do you step off the board with your right/back foot, let the board scoot forward and kick the tail down with your left/front foot to pick up the board (so effectively using your same pushing foot as the foot to step off and stop yourself with), or vice versa?

I’m learning to skate again after 30 years and regrettably used to push mongo style (yeah I know), i’m trying to correct that now and push properly but stopping is really throwing me as my instinct is to step off and stop myself with my left/front foot like I used to, ie my old pushing foot.

Air bubbles on new Powell wheels - defect?

Brand new Dragon Formula 54mm wheels have prominent air bubbles on the back of each wheel, my last set of 53mm Dragon Formula's didn't. Is this a defect?

Organising emails - best practice?

I've tried and failed countless times to keep on top of email organisation by using folders / mailboxes but always fall behind and eventually give up, meaning I have a ton of folders with some emails in them but mostly everything just stays in my inbox.

How does everyone else approach email organisation, do you simply leave everything in your inbox or do you archive emails away? Into a single folder or multiple folders?

Just looking for the best / simplest approach really.

If it matters I have two email accounts with two different providers, iCloud for personal emails, Fastmail for my self-employed business emails. I use Apple Mail as my email client for both.

Who makes good blank boards?

Are there any good blank decks coming out of reputable wood shops that are available in the UK?

Board + truck size for 7 year old?

My 7 year old has been riding a Krooked 7.5 mini complete for a couple months, he's tall for his age (wears 9-10 year clothing) and I feel like he'll outgrow the board pretty quickly.

I bought a set of new Indy 139's recently thinking I'd set up a 7.8"–8" wide board for him in the next few months but I'm wondering if I should have got 129's instead and got for a slightly thinner board.

So, options...

Keep the 139's and get him a 7.8"–8" board that'll last him longer? Or...

Return the 139's and get 129's and a 7.5"–7.8" board knowing I'll have to replace the trucks at some point when he needs a wider board?

Wheel size for 50YO who hasn't skated in a while?

I just picked up a new set of Dragon Formula 93A's in 53mm x 33mm size. Will mainly be skating street and a little park but nothing too heavy... basic flips, carves, grinds n' slides (if I can manage it!)

My reasoning for getting the 53mm was more stability (lower to ground), lighter weight and to minimise wheel bite as I'm riding Indy Forged Hollow trucks which are slightly lower than regular Indy's.

Have I got the right size or should I have gone bigger? They look kinda small now they arrived.

Pepper grip question

I ordered a sheet of Pepper G5 grip and Pepper Midnight grip to compare, both arrived and look identical. Is there supposed to be a visual difference (apparently midnight is supposed to be a deeper black) or have I been sent two sheets of the same product?

New wheels advice

I had my heart set on Dragon Formula wheels and had some on order (93a 53mm x 33mm) but I've just found out the shop listed them by accident and are actually out of stock. It turns out everywhere in the UK seems to be out of stock.

Are Powell still making this wheel??

What other wheel would you recommend if I cant get the 53mm / 93a Dragons?

Ankle brace recommendations [50YO]

Can anyone recommend a good ankle brace (preferably available in the UK) for an oldie starting back up who rolled his ankles way too many times in his youth?

Any difference between most pro decks?

Putting together a new set-up after many years away from skateboarding and looking at an 8.25" board with a pretty standard 32" length and 14.25" wheel base.

Once I know the sizing is there much difference in terms of shape / tech besides width, length and wheel base across most current pro ranges from brands like Anti-Hero, Baker, Pass-port, Polar etc? Looking at 8.25's in store they all look pretty much identical other than minor details like slightly tapered nose and tail versus rounder nose and tail.

I know this is really micro-detail stuff that I probably wouldn't even notice but I'm just interested as prices can vary a lot (£60–£100) for what looks like pretty much the same deck.

For context I'm currently eyeing up these options:

Polar BS Smith
Polar Nick Boserio Silver Devil
Baker Baca Going Down
Pass-port Spin Me Round

Wheel recommendations?

Looking to get back into skating after many years away, board is 8.125”, trucks are Indy Forged Hollows 139. What wheels should I consider? I’m mainly just cruising about, a bit of street, maybe a bit of park. Would Powell Dragon Formula 54mm x 34mm 93A be a good shout?

Indy trucks - why so many visual variations within the same model and stage range?

Looking to get a new set of 139's and it's hard to compare like-for-like prices when what appears to be the same stage and model look different depending on where you buy them.

For example, I've seen a brand new set of Silver Stage 11 Forged Hollow 139's on one shops site that look different to another brand new set of Silver Stage 11 Forged Hollow 139's on another shops site.... one set has the cross logo printed into the base plate whilst the other set doesn't, one set has the word 'H+LL+W' printed across the hanger while the other one doesn't etc etc.

Any ideas?

Moving personal money into a business account without it being taxed?

I'm self employed and want to move some money from my personal account into my business account to top up an emergency cash reserve (set aside in case work dries up for a period, god forbid!). I currently only have a couple of months of average earnings ring-fenced when I've been advised I should have at least 6 months given I have a mortgage and dependents.

How do I add money into my business account without it being flagged as taxable income by HMRC, is it simply a case of adding a category (e.g. 'Capital Introduced') to the transaction in my banking app?

Deleting a Facebook account without losing a Facebook page connected to it?

Long story short, years back a Facebook account was set up in my name (either by myself or one of my bandmates, I can't remember) purely to enable us to have a Facebook page for our band. I never use Facebook and it's been bugging me for a long time that there's an active account in my name that various friends and family think is mine (and still occasionally post messages and photos to) that I never use.

How can I delete this bogus account without losing our band page connected to it that we do still actively use?

Genuine Indy’s or fakes?

Independent 139’s for sale, are they genuine or fakes do you think (price seems a bit tgtbt)?

If genuine, what model do they look like?

Indoor kid-friendly skateparks, London, UK?

My 7 years old has recently started skateboarding, we have a decent outdoor park near us but the weathers turned to shit this last week. Are there any beginner-friendly / kid-friendly indoor skateparks or spots in London I could take him?

Organising contacts into folders, possible?

Is there a way to organise contacts in the Apple Contacts app into folders?

I'd like to have a top level folder for 'Personal' contacts and a top level folder for 'Business' contacts, then within the Business folder I'd like separate folders or contact lists for 'Existing Clients' and 'Prospective Clients' so I can quickly send slightly different email updates to each group / list.

Dropping lists within lists doesn't really work as all lists are still displayed in the left-hand menu whereas I want to keep that column tidier with just Personal and Business at the top level and sub-folders / lists nested within.
