Haven't tested it out yet, but I picked up this 1961 Curtis Mathes today.

As you can see in the pictures, this is a one pint Pepsi swirl bottle made by Owens-Illinois. THAT is about as far as I've gotten.
Codes are:
- Owens-Illinois 18318
- F 23 77
At first I assumed the "77" meant it was made in 1977, but the logo doesn't seem to be the 1970s Pepsi logo. Or am I missing something?
My wife is already enrolled in CHAMPVA, but we're still pretty new to it all. We're still wrapping our heads around how CHAMPVA handles pregnancy, birth, and childhood. My spouse has insurance as well.
My personal earnings:
Wife's earnings:
Our Current Savings:
Our Monthly Debt:
Monthly Spending:
Student loans will decrease by about $50 once I am back in school full-time. I didn't get an internship this past summer, which meant I had to place things on hold. Once I finish VR&E I will be enrolling using my GI Bill. GI Bill stipend pays ~$16k untaxed each year.
We live in an MCOL area and plan for our kid to attend daycare. Median household income here is ~$86k. Daycare costs seem to be as low as $1500/month or as high as $4000/month.
I found a few radical leftist (truly radical left) newspapers at an estate sale. Apparently the Quicksilver Times was an underground Washington DC paper that ran in the late '60s/early '70s. It was infiltrated by the CIA.
I picked this up for a few bucks at a local estate sale. It'll still keep the beer cold!
I found this old magazine of children's stories at an estate sale today for next to nothing. The cover is incredible, but the children's write-ins are my favorite part.
This embedded reporter covered an ambush of British soldiers in Derry that left one soldier wounded. It also covered two bombings near the border with the Republic of Ireland. Republic of Ireland PIRA sympathizers (mainly garda) were also mentioned.
The bridge bombing was done with claymore mines and wounded two. It's not confirmed who they were, but they were armed and dressed in civilian attire, so it's assumed they were on the opposite side of things.
The second bombing was of a British Customs building that was being built on the border with the Republic of Ireland. Workers were taken outside and held at gunpoint while PIRA members rigged the building. They watched it blow after crossing back over into the Republic of Ireland.
The reporter covered the operations from start to finish.
I found this in an old bucket in a rundown barn. I'm debating whether or not to keep it, but it's pretty cool! Cork backing. I'm guessing 1950s since the 1960s king size coke caps have the writing in a different spot.
Almost all bottled in Raleigh, NC where I live. I can't believe I got an actual bucket full of these.
I found a bunch of old bottle caps recently. Here are a few from the bunch. Aside from the Nu Grape and Sun Drop (which wasn't marked) they were all marked as bottled in Raleigh.
I'm guessing 1950/60s?
There are a bunch more, but they're the same as these.
We have a single story house with mostly hardwood floors. There are some area rugs, but these are fairly thin. We do have a dog.
Three features I want:
I'm assuming this is a native because all sorts of pollinators seem to love it, but that's obviously not a very foolproof way to tell.
It's about 4-5 inches high.
Quack quack motherducker
With water levels so low in our local reservoirs I've found some interesting trash.
The sun drop can is from the 70s. The 2004 license plate is from a boat trailer. Pepsi can is likely 70s as well.
Your trash lasts a long time and all of this is sitting in your drinking water! Remember, only assholes litter.
I would like to get a large neotraditional (with a slightly more American traditional bent) native flora/fauna My main problem is that I haven't even looked at NC artists in a few years.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Has to be in NC or just barely over the border.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Has to be in NC or just barely over the border, but preferably close to home.

1 and 2 are subterranean termite swarmers. 3 is small ants (or worker termites?). 4 and 5 are carpenter ants. Termidor treatment was February 6.
I went out to our shed this morning and found a lot of dead insects. I was moving around items that were in there when the termidor was applied around the shed's perimeter. I don't spend much time in the shed at all. I'm assuming these are all from treatment.
**What's throwing me off is the dead swarmers, which I'm used to only seeing in the summer. Some had wings, some did not. They were under completely empty spider webs. Do swarmers even exist in February?**
I saw no new tunnels and hardly a living insect in the place aside from a few spiders. I have seen one or two swarmers in the yard this summer, but that's all.
edit: everything pictured was very dead
Due to drought, the water levels have dropped A LOT recently at our little lake. I kept wondering why so many people were trashing the beach (which should be underwater). Well, today I finally figured it out. I'm finding trash from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Our oldest employee has been here for about 27 years. Some of this litter has been here for at least twice as long.
