I usually pay for hotels and while it's ~$100/night, I'm thinking of driving from NY down to Austin, stay a few days with friends, and then from there all the way to Arizona.
Would it be easy for me to find place to sleep in my car along the way? Any specific places I can do this?
My neighbor's have a smoke detector (or CO) that has been chirping every 20 seconds around the clock *for months*. I'd close certain windows to not hear it, thought it would eventually die or they would replace it, but none of that happened.
I texted them and asked about it, and they said they would look into it and correct it, but so far nothing has happened.
Can I file a complaint about this? It's not "loud" in a traditional sense, in fact it's very hard to hear during the daytime with traffic, but it's super annoying, especially at night.
I need a covered space to store my car for the winter. Doesn't have to be fancy, any shed/garage/storage unit sort of thing would work for me.
Anyone have ideas? Preferably cheap options.

I have 5 Ring devices (3 doorbells, 2 cameras).
Of the the 5, 2 that are in the back of the house both show motion events. One of them shows one motion event around 6pm, then another a minute later, a 15 minute break, then another.
This pattern repeats in the same way for the other, but this time around 7:15pm (2 close events, then another 15 minutes later)!
No motion at all, nothing. And it never happened before. My motion events are always consistent.
If it was one I would say it's a bug or something, but this is suspicious. What could this possibly be?
Those of you who have driven other EVs, as per driving dynamics and fun, how do other models you have tried compare?
Looked under the car for unrelated reasons, and found this rusted and cracked bushing-looking thing, this is the front suspension area, under driver.
Also, can I replace this after the winter? I'm storing the car for the winter starting around November 1st.
And for what it's worth just got my NY safety inspection renewed last month at a Chevy dealership, and this wasn't mentioned, so I'm hoping it really isn't that big of a deal to wait a bit.

I have a dashcam that should only be working while my 2017 Bolt is on.
It was plugged in to charge, and when I came back I found that my dashcam has been on and recording for a few hours (started about 30 minutes after I left it to charge).
This has never happened before.
Any ideas?

My Ring Battery Doorbell Gen 2 stopped working and Ring support offered to replace it as it has a warranty.
I received an email that I'm getting the Ring Battery Doorbell 2K and got excited untill...
I received it today. What an absolute piece of garbage.
Let's compare (from least important to most):
* Plastic up top shows thermal shrinking (whatever...).
* Shell is entirely plastic, gone is the nice aluminum piece in front
* The video quality? Poor! So much worse than my previous Ring. Such bullshit, I have old videos downloaded, and I compared one to the other whole focusing on small details, the old doorbell has much sharper resolution.
This is just the first 15 minutes with this... Who knows how well it will hold up or what else has been "shrinkflated".
What the hell? Why is everything being enshitified so much?
My doorbell stopped working and Ring issued a replacement and in the email it says that they're sending a label so that I may return this one (which I had for over a year).
The issue is, it won't turn on at all, and I can't reset it, and I would rather destroy it and toss it that return it to Ring that may send it to some third-party location that I don't trust (not that I trust Ring that much lol). WiFi credentials may be saved on it, and perhaps other registered info.
Not a huge deal, but will they pursue if I simply throw it away and don't return it?

My neighbor tore down a large shed and planted grass (someone came by and put these little green pellets).
Several weeks later and they have this pricky thick big leaf grass. Mine is very soft and small, and also much greener.

I got my first San Martin (and first Chinese *brand* watch at all) today and I'm quite impressed.
I was eyeing this one for a long time and initially wanted the Dial A, which was out of stock, so settled for the B. After ordering, I compared pictures over and over and I'm actually really happy I went with B. I think A was a bit too simplistic.
I sold my Seiko SNK807 to fund this (I made a new rule that I'm not spending more on watches for a while). Bought the SNK for about $75 five years ago and didn't wear it much, too small for me. MSRP went up to $350, so I sold it for $200.
I paid around $155 for the San Martin, including shipping (so after all eBay fees I basically swapped this for the Seiko and got a few bucks to spare).
I would like to say that I'm surprised by the quality of the San Martin but I'm not, I have been lurking for a while and knew they have crazy value. Was just waiting for an opportunity. Watched plenty of YouTube videos (of other models) and the closeups (even on their website) speaks volumes of the attention to detail and precise quality.
The watch is hefty, very well put together. The media blasting is perfect (I don't see much of anything to complain about in that regard).
I believe the design is inspired by a watch by Lum Tec (speaking of the which, the lume is fantastic).
The crown is screw-down - didn't check before ordering and was hoping it would be, so I'm happy.
Strap (nato) is fine (definitely better than the Seiko), and the clasp is signed and substantial. I'm more of a leather or bracelet kind of guy, so may be looking to upgrade that.
Bottom line: if this was any other "micro brand" I don't see why they wouldn't charge $800 for it. Genuinely.
Can't beat the value (but considering this sub I'm probably preaching to the choir).
I have had it now for a few hours so only time will tell how will it will hold up, but I'm super happy. Also their service is great (they emailed me a picture of my actual watch from the order before it went out!).
One thing I hope they do more is come out with their own original designs. Homages sell, I know, but a few cool unique designs will be cool to see as well.
I need to store my Bolt for a few months and don't want flat spots on tires or compressed suspension.
I've jacked it up before to rotate tires one at a time, but I don't believe I'd be able to place a stand on the same spot where I jack it up.
Is there any guide or video showing how to do this?
I'm trying to reach the A/C drain hose so that I can spray some foam in there to clean out possible blockage and bad smells.
I removed a screw and a plastic fastener where the red arrows are.
The blue arrows indicate where I was able to pop off the trim (barely) with a plastic trim popper.
And the yellow circle indicates where it will absolutely not budge and I'm afraid of breaking it if I pull too hard.
How do you remove this? I could not find anything online.

I'm hit with this sour vinegar smell now when I turn on the A/C at first.
I'm assuming that's growth buildup on the condenser, so how exactly do I reach it? Has anyone here ever serviced or cleaned it?

I would like all windows to automatically roll-up when I lock the car, and I understand certain cars have devices that connect to the OBD 2 port and allows this.
Does the Bolt have any?
Are there any reasons to not want to use one?
I have a $300 generic scooter with 200 miles on it.
It stopped driving. It turns on, all functions on screen and lighting works, I bought a new throttle but that didn't help, throttle tested to work, all wiring is good, hub motor is 99% certain to work.
Frame is clean and nice.
I'm 90% sure it's the battery, likely just a few cells because the 36v battery tested at 39v at 100% and 36.6v at 50%. So basically, battery needs a few 18650 cells or just a new battery. My guess is it drops below BMS cutoff at load.
I would refurbish the battery myself, and it would probably not cost me more than $20, but I have a rule - I don't mess with batteries that I share a roof with. Would be a fun project, but it's just too risky to be mixing cells.
What's a fair price for me to settle on FBMP?
I have an old house and mice have been able to enter. I noticed on a neighboring house that they've been sneaking through the gap between the siding and the sheathing.
Anyway, there's a solution (that I linked) and it seems like you can fasten it to the foundation or maybe to the shearing itself.
I don't plan to do anything with the foundation, but it will let water and air through, so any reason I should not screw into the bottom of sheathing? I'm assuming it's ok, but anything to be careful of?

Anywhere in particular I should look? And would unbranded ones from Walmart (shipping) be an issue at all?
