The show strongly hints that Marley is AoT's equivalent of the nazi. The dead giveaway was the eldian armbands and the internment zones (essentially the ghettos). Those are direct parallels to real-world history, and I don't think Isayama included them by accident.

Marley is a fascist empire built on propaganda, racial segregation, and using an oppressed minority as weapons for conquest. That's why I struggle to sympathize with characters who willingly uphold that system and i truly don't understand why some people actually love marleyan characters.

He knew exactly how chuck was sabotaging jimmy all along. He hated doing it, he disagreed with it, and he clearly felt guilty about it but he did it anyway. Because he was Chuck’s lapdog.

He valued the prestige of HHM and chuck’s legal mind more than he valued basic human decency or his own supposed moral compass.

He only started doing the right thing to kimmy once chuck was dead and there was no one left to be afraid of. Later season howard was just a lapdog losing his owner.

How do they keep it a secret if their meat is inhumanly hard and durable? We see this when debbie lashes on nolan. She hurts her hand when hitting him like she's punching a brick wall. There's no way a normal human has flesh and skin like that and their partners don't know.

Howard deserves so much better

Rewatching BCS and I genuinely don’t understand the Howard hate.

Jim and kim were such evil twins to him.

He protected the firm. He respected Chuck. He offered Jimmy a job when he didn’t have to. He tried to make peace more than once. Even after the bowling balls and hookers nonsense, he still sat down and tried to talk like an adult.

Yeah, he was privileged. Yeah, he could be stiff and corporate. But compared to literally everyone else in this show? He was one of the only people trying to do things the right way.

The way his story ends still feels like a gut punch because it wasn’t some grand downfall. It was humiliations layered on top of humiliation until the worst possible timing imaginable.

Jimmy and Kim didn’t just prank him, they dismantled him. And the part that hurts is he walked into that apartment thinking he was finally standing up for himself.

I don’t know. On rewatch, he might actually be the most decent person in the whole series.

Curious if people still think he had it coming, or if we’ve collectively softened on him over time.
