I’m genuinely worried about how GO will handle FIFA/Jays crowds combined

My train is delayed for over 15 minutes due to signal wide issues impacting the whole network, the punctuality for LW dropped from 95 in January to 88% in April.

Can’t imagine how insane it’ll be when the trains are packed with crowds.

The Jays fans tonight will not be happy, and there will be tons of angry people if this happens on game days.

PS: I will most certainly pursue a refund after this trip

Pedestrian struck, killed near a safe redesign killed by Doug Ford.

Absolutely terrible news coming out of this.

It’s worth noting the intersection she was killed near was supposed to be redesigned by removing traffic lanes and adding bike lanes, to make the area safer.

The bad news? It was killed by Doug ford’s bill 60 because he prioritizes saving drivers 30 seconds over human life.

I don’t know if the street redesign would’ve 100% prevented this, but it would significantly reduce the odds of it happening.

It’s crazy how we’re closely approaching the total pedestrian death total of 2025, and summer hasn’t even started yet

Looks like the city filled in the bike lane gap between Peter St and Blue Jays Way!

Not my photo, credit to the Toronto Sun, ironically from an article claiming bike lanes are the worst thing ever.

I recall there being a gap in the bike lane between King St and Wellington, this will be revolutionary especially cycling to Jays games!

Will have to try it out for myself.

RapidTO installation underway on Bathurst/Dufferin on Bloor St!

Was biking on Bloor and saw great progress coming along for the Dufferin/Bathurst lanes. Can’t wait to get some footage when they’re operational.

The most amount of joy I get though is knowing these lanes live rent free in IntegrityTO’s head 24/7

Congratulations Doug Ford. Parkside Drive is now 10x more dangerous thanks to you.

The most predictable result ever. After Ford removed “cash grab” speed cameras, the street is more dangerous for everyone.

A redesign would fix this once and for all. Too bad Ford banned it thanks to Bill 60.

It is only a matter of time before someone gets killed. The blood will be on your hands Ford.

Remember Ford’s own gov’t docs said speed cams had an overwhelming positive impact on reducing speeding, making streets safer for everyone.

We found that out thanks to an FOI request, that is now banned under Ford too.

Speeding on Parkside Drive has increased by over 200% since Doug Ford's speed camera ban, “Watch Your Speed” data reveals

Today marks exactly 6 months since Doug Ford banned speed cameras, a decision which brought an abrupt end to the Parkside Drive speed camera, Toronto's most prolific and most vandalised speed camera. Parkside residents along with communities all around the city are now dealing with the consequences of the ban. Speeding on Parkside Drive has spiked dramatically since the removal of the Parkside speed camera according to City of Toronto "Watch Your Speed" sign data.

https://preview.redd.it/pmbqebd2441h1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f95df3f59191fef0959e717284209dcb16855a45

January to April 2026 saw a 235% increase in the number of vehicles travelling 60+ km/h on Parkside Drive, a 40km/h "Community Safety Zone," when compared to the same time period in 2025 when the Parkside Drive speed camera was keeping a watchful eye over the street (3,417 from Jan-Apr 2025 compared to 11,439 from Jan-Apr 2026). This dangerous increase in speeding is as disappointing as it is predictable.

The Watch Your Speed data paints an alarming picture and reveals the consequences of eliminating speed cameras, a safety tool which the Ministry of Transportation described as “unanimously positive” in a 2022 evaluation of speed cameras before they inexplicably banned them from our schools and parks. Now speeding is on the rise and safety on the decline around our schools and parks all thanks to Doug Ford.

Predictably, multi-vehicle high-speed crashes and other concerning traffic incidents also appear to be increasing in frequency since the speed camera ban came into effect:

Nov 27, 2025: A pedestrian was struck by a turning motorist and taken to hospital at around 6pm at the Parkside Drive and Howard Park Ave intersection less than a month after the speed camera ban came into effect.

Jan 20, 2026: A high-speed 4-car crash shuts down the northbound lanes on Parkside Drive while paramedics and firefighters deal with the aftermath.

Feb 19, 2026: A high-speed crash shuts down the southbound lanes on Parkside Drive. A witness at the scene described the southbound vehicle as travelling “Mach 90.”

Mar 1, 2026: A high-speed 3-car crash shuts down all lanes on Parkside Drive as police, paramedics and firefighters deal with the aftermath.

Pedestrian struck, killed at Don Mills mall parking lot: police

First off, my condolences to the family that has to deal with yet another preventable tragedy.

Was looking at Google Maps at this area, and there's defo too much on-street parking on the CF Shops streets, these streets should be pedestrianized and car free.

There's already a parking garage and a surface parking lot nearby, not much parking would be removed.

Toronto also needs more raised crossings that were common when I was in Amsterdam, this would've significantly reduced the odds a fatality would've happened.

It's also important to know while the incident did not occur directly in a former speed camera site, there used to be 2 speed cameras 700m where this happened, that used to keep drivers speeding in check.

Remember just like the bike lanes, Ford's own government documents said speed cameras were very effective in making streets safer for everyone.

New RapidTO streetcar lanes in action (between Bloor and College)

Installation isn’t complete yet but you can already see how much of a difference they make. Streetcar’s moving faster and is in its own lane.

Can’t wait to hear IntegrityTO moaning about them, if this is his definition of “a failed city,” then by all means I want more of it!

Protest against Ford's TTC takeover this Saturday!

If Ford takes over the TTC, he will hike fares while cutting service, and collect all the fares we pay to do more corrupt crap (like his Billy Bishop takeover).

If you don't want this, show up to protest in 4 locations!

RSVP here: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/stop-ford-ttc-takeover-may-9-2026

------------------------------------------------------------------

The TTC needs to remain independent from the province. We've seen how badly the province has screwed up transit (like the long expensive Crosstown delay).

Saw seniors, mobility scooters, and families that got their baseball equipment in no problem.

Also saw a couple wheelchair users still able to get in with WheelTrans or the TTC route that goes through

Enough proof the park does just fine without cars. No, it did not “destroy the city.” It’s more peaceful for everyone

There was a massive game at the diamond (3rd pic, although quality isn’t good).

But IntegrityTO and the right still say it’s “disastrous” and cars must be brought back at once (4th pic).

Which is why I emphasize for October’s election:

voting left doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a great city, but voting right does guarantee that you won’t

This is coming from someone who used to lean to the right.

Had to post since they’re more obsessed with the lanes than even me at this point.

If we get rid of the RapidTO lanes, we just go back to this, which was before the lanes. Bathurst is a parking lot, and nobody moves.

Streetcars with hundreds stuck behind single-occupant cars.

They work. And with a few modifications (like banning lefts on King), it’ll be even more amazing.

RapidTO is the only way we improve Toronto’s streetcar network, not “just one more lane”

Ontario ACORN started an email campaign to force Ford to repeal Bill 60.

While Bill 60 is about tenant rights, it's the bill that bans bike lanes that remove a traffic lane.

We need to stand in solidarity with the tenant union as this also impacts cyclists!

Send a quick email here, just takes a minute: https://acorncanada.org/take_action/repeal-bill-60-doug-fords-more-evictions-faster-act/

According to ACORN: We have until May 1st to flood their inbox and demand they REPEAL this attack!

If you want, you can add the bike lane ban to the list of issues they're raising. Just scroll down and copy/paste this after Issue 6 in the letter:

-------------------------------------------------------

7: Making our streets more deadly for everyone

Many low-income tenants can't afford a car.

When the TTC is shut down, cycling is often the only way to get to crucial appointments, work, or errands.

With bike lanes replacing car lanes banned, it's impossible for cities to build a complete bike network, and causes unnecessary injury/death on our roads.

In the midst of an oil crisis, we must provide safe alternatives to driving that doesn't involve oil consumption, so we can better handle spiking gas prices.

I know a little last minute, but Council will be hearing from deputants regarding pedestrianizing Church St. tomorrow (April 30).

Tell them to support this desperately needed project!

Just click “Request to Speak” at the top of this page and send the email to them to secure your spot: https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2026.TE32.46

Cities worldwide are pedestrianizing their streets. Toronto is in desperate need to follow suit!

Great video from OhtheUrbanity that talks more about how ridiculous Ford's speed cam ban is.

While he focused mostly on the speed cam ban, this is also relevant to the ongoing bike lane wars Ford started, and it did get a shoutout in the middle

Ford can colour in bike lanes next time he sees a bike passing his luxury SUV.

You can get the colouring book here: https://www.kristynwongtam.ca/colouring-book

After you get it, print it and mail it to Ford's office to help him relieve his Toronto obsession:

Premier of Ontario
Legislative Building
Queen's Park
Toronto ON M7A 1A1

10/10 trolling from Kristyn Wong Tam.
