I played Ulrich in Code Lyoko Evolution (and now I need You)

oopsy?

Hi everyone,

Quentin Merabet here. You may know me because I probably ruined your favorite show, playing Ulrich.

First of all: sorry about that. I was definitely not the best person on Earth for the job 😭

But playing in one of my favorite shows ever was an incredible honor. I still remember calling my little sister completely losing my mind when I got the part (it was for William at first btw 💀).

And somehow, the craziest thing that came out of it wasn’t even filming the series. It was you guys. I met so many incredible people through this community. Some of you I still talk to today. You gave me memories, friendships, opportunities, and an absurd amount of support over the years.

And, well… I also met Mélanie, who played Yumi. We fell in love. And now we have a family.

So yeah. Code Lyoko really messed up my life lol 🥹

But there’s something most of you probably don’t know about me. In real life, I’m a bit like Jeremie.

I’ve been coding since I was 13. I genuinely love it. So much that it eventually became my job.

And last month, after years of building things for other people, I finally launched something of my own. My little baby. It’s called Loreum.

Loreum is a place to tell stories made for the digital world. Of course there’s text.

But stories can also have sounds. Images. Videos. Choices. Questions. Different paths.

And no, it does not use AI (XANA sucks). Just people making weird, beautiful things for other people.

After acting, I spent some time writing and directing too, and I became a little obsessed with interactive storytelling. So, basically… yeah

I built the app 20yo me would have completely lost his mind over.

And somehow, one month after launching, Loreum is already approaching 1.5k stories.

Which is completely insane to me. But we’re still tiny.

And I guess this is the part where I’m asking the Lyoko Warriors for help 😭 Not in some giant corporate “please support my exciting new venture” way.

Just… come see what we’re building.

Download it. Read something. Tell me what sucks. Tell me what you wish existed. Write a tiny story. Make something interactive (pleeaaase). Send it to a friend who writes.

If you end up loving Loreum, stick around. We even pay per views on your stories!

I genuinely want the kind of people who were there for such an important part of my life to be part of this one too. We have a lot to build.

And I have a feeling some of you might have exactly the kind of strange ideas we need 🖤

Quentin.

Looking for creators [PAID]

Hi all,

I hope this is okay to post here, and please redirect me if it isn't 🥹

I come from screenwriting and directing, which is probably why I keep thinking filmmakers are weirdly perfect for this.

For a new app called Loreum - We’re looking for creators who want to experiment with bite-sized, cinematic stories made for phones.

  • 100-400 words chapters/scene
  • Choices and/or questions (routing to different chapters)
  • Optional but nice: sounds + images/videos.
  • Any genre welcome! But we're especially looking for romance, fantasy, and mystery right now!

Loreum is only about a month old, but we’ve had a surprisingly busy first few weeks and readers are already asking for more stories!! Which is a very nice problem to have 😭

How it is paid

Loreum allows you to turn on monetization for your stories in one click. It's basically paid per views every months, at around 100 USD / 1k chapter read entirely.

Is it a scam?

No 😭 We're sharing 50% of our revenues to writers and as I said - we got a lot of traction on our first month! Looks like people we're looking for a beautiful app to tell there stories, and get paid without ugly ads after all 🥹

Is it free?

For writers, yes. On the reading side, free users are allowed to read 8 chapters/day. This is how we can pay writers.

How can I join?

Just Download the app (this is a link btw!), and start creating. But if you have questions, get stuck, or just want to talk through an idea, you can reach me directly here or at quentin@loreum.com

Thanks a lot for your help 🖤

Hi all,

Update your app! You can now filter stories by tropes 🥹

Tropes are devided in 4 categories right now;

  • Character (antihero, billionaire...)
  • Plot (revenge, redemption arc...)
  • Relationship (enemies to lovers, slow burn...)
  • World (sports, fairytale, elite school...)

If you have any suggestions, or need more tropes - leave your suggestions here!

We completely revamped our search algo, we know it has been an issue since day 1. Hope you'll finally find everything you're looking for 👀

Looking for writers for a new app (YOU!)

Hey all!

I’ve always loved Wattpad. It’s where I discovered so many amazing writers. But I kept wishing there was a place where stories could do a little more than just text.

So I built one.

Loreum is a new reading and writing app that just launched (yesterday!). Stories can include sounds, images, videos, choices, and other interactive elements. The goal is simply to explore what storytelling can become on a phone.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Stories in all genre (romance, fantasy, thriller)
  • Very short chapters if possible (100-300 words)
  • Immersive elements if possible (on Loreum you can add images, sounds, even choices to your stories!)

No pressure to write a huge novel either. A chapter can be 100–300 words. One fun experiment is enough.

And yes, creators can apply for monetization directly in the app. I personally review every application in less than 24 hours.

If you’re curious, I’d genuinely love to see what you create. Happy to answer any questions here too. 💌

What if stories could be... more interactive?

Hey all,

I’ve been a screenwriter and director in France for a while, but I’ve also been coding since I was a kid. Weird brain = weird career I guess 😭

For most of my career, I’ve been obsessed with one question: what’s the right medium for a story?

A novel? A film? A comic? A game?
I’ve tried a bit of everything, and I always had the feeling that something was missing.

So I ended up building my dream app!

It’s called Loreum. At its core it’s a reading/writing app, but stories can also use sounds, images, videos, choices, questions, and even collectible items that unlock other paths or chapters.

The simple idea behind it is this: we’re all holding incredibly powerful little machines in our hands all day long, and yet when it comes to storytelling, we mostly still use them like digital paper.

I’m curious if I’m the only one who feels that way.

Not selling anything (it's free!) - and creators can apply for monetization directly in the app. I’m not looking for polished novels right now. I’m mostly looking for people who’d be excited to experiment with this new medium before the official launch next week.

It can be tiny.
100 words for a scene is enough.
One weird little story experiment is enough.

If that sounds fun to you, I’d love to invite a few people in. Comment "Android" or "iOS" and I'll send you the link ✨

Thanks a lot! Q.

Looking for creators willing to experiment this

Hey not selling anything here. It's free for creators.

I'm launching a new storytelling app (iOS + Android) in ~48 hours and looking for a few more creators willing to experiment with the beta.

The idea is simple:

What happens when stories are built specifically for phones?

On Loreum, stories can include:

- text (of course)

- sounds

- images

- videos

- choices (routing to chapters)

- questions (routing to chapter for good or bad answer)

- collectibles (can help solve mysteries, unlock chapters, choices, etc) - coming soon

A chapter can be 100 words.

A whole story can be 5 minutes long.

No pressure!

Some ideas I've seen in the work:

🧩 A maze where readers choose left or right

📱 A romance told entirely through text messages

🔎 A murder mystery where readers collect clues and answer questions to identify the killer

Honestly, I'm less interested in polished novels than weird experiments.

The platform is free to use for creators, and you can already apply for monetization directly in the app.

If you're a writer, game designer, filmmaker, narrative designer, interactive fiction creator, or just someone who likes playing with storytelling formats, I'd love to have you involved before launch.

Happy to answer questions.

Download on IOS: https://testflight.apple.com/join/4FrpfH2r

Download on Android: Send me your google account email to contact@loreum.co so i can invite you.

A few notes:

No ads in the app. Never.

About me: I'm Quentin, a French screenwriter/director but also developer living in Montréal. I've spent years experimenting with storytelling on the web, social media, and other digital formats. Loreum is the project I've always wanted to exist: a place where creators can experiment with new forms of storytelling and get paid if people love their work.

A new app for immersive storytelling looking for early writers/beta testers

https://preview.redd.it/v8967azrub2h1.png?width=1526&format=png&auto=webp&s=4504841363a00948cd01d711723eb0ce5f621c35

Hi everyone, Quentin Merabet here.

Disclaimer: this is NOT an ad. I'm not selling anything.

I’m currently building Loreum, a new app for immersive storytelling, and I’m looking for a small group of early writers and beta testers to help shape it.

The idea really started from a simple feeling: stories on the internet haven’t really evolved in years. Most platforms still treat stories like plain text on a page (+ ugly ads), even though creators today grow up with sound, video, games, fandom culture, TikTok, YouTube, interactive media, etc.

Not even talking about the opaque monetization system and the reading experience full of ads.

With Loreum, writers can create stories using:

  • text
  • images
  • sounds/music
  • videos
  • choices (routing to different chapters)
  • questions (routing to different chapters based on good/bad answer)

Imagine a horror story with cracking sounds while the character hides in the dark. Or readers choosing what a character says next in a romance scene. Or hiding clues in a thriller through interactive questions.

The goal is NOT to replace pure writing. It’s to give writers new "building blocks" while keeping stories fast, emotional, and easy to read on mobile.

I’ve worked as an actor, director, and screenwriter before starting this project, and I genuinely believe online storytelling is still at day one. (not sure you should google me tho 😭)

The beta is completely free. No ads (never will, ads are ugly).

If you’d like to try it early:

🍎 iPhone users → Here's the testflight link (that's the app Apple use for testing) : https://testflight.apple.com/join/4FrpfH2r

🤖 Android users → send an email to contact@loreum.co using the email associated with your Google Play account so I can send you the invite!

Would genuinely love to have some of you involved this early ✨

Thanks a lot! Here to answer ANYTHING. Please don't hesitate!
