After seeing the motortrend article on the Kia K4 - i wanted to highlight my expeirence as a disregarded owner reporting a life threatening issue.

Three times my car has gone into Limp mode while driving, the steering locks up and the dash lights up. "Lane Assist" "Power steering", "Forward collision assistance" warnings.

The first time it happened at 70mph on i95 north at 2am. The second and third time it happened at around 30mph during daytime hours. It clears with a reboot, but not everytime. It was noticable harder to clear the errors the 2nd and 3rd time.

After the 3rd time I called hyundai and they told me that there were no active recalls. I escalated and told them it was a life threatening issue, but they did not seem inclined to put out a bulletin or recall.

Ive observed other posts on the internet that describe exactly the same issue I had

Hyundai is actively in damage control for an electronical steering rack sensor system that randomly blue screens during some enviormental factor. It wont happen all year then happen to 3x VNs in spring. Atleast from my perspective.

Wanted to share this here in hopes that I get some sort of resolution instead of being jacked around by Hyundai.
