Questions about risks of refixation / replacement surgery for late IOL shift and ghosting question
Dear all. I am 42,m, with bilateral conginital cataracts and after being aphaic for 15 years I received the sulcus placed IOL and was operated on a secorndary cataract.
Since two years I have monocular Diplopia with Ghost images, that now show up in brighter enviroments now, more than before. was told first that it was most likely dry eyes, and then the cornea. But after a visit to another doc, that told me that it was maybe a IOL shift or tilt that was causing it. I can see a 2 seperate ghost images, one more 1 to 1 copy of the orginal, and another one more comma shaped. For further away light sources, I can see a bow, that is made of "rays". Mostly I saw bright objects on dark barkground as ghost images, but now I can also see darker objects that are producing ghost images in front of the
Ihave two questions:
- A specialist doctor told me that he doesn't understand why I have such stark symptoms with a moderate shift. Why could that be the case?
- And what are the risks of a refixation or replacement? This is my lead eye due to having had a retinal detachment in the other eye. And now floater in the IOL shift eye.
Thank you
