World Glitch? It Was A little Unsettling To Say The Least

Last night during my usual shower routine, I turned on my old offline phone and my Bluetooth speaker to play YouTube.

The speaker immediately froze up. None of the buttons worked except the power button, and out of nowhere, I heard faint talking coming through the speaker. I figured a neighbor in my apartment building connected to it by accident, but the volume kept rising while the controls stayed completely locked.

I turned Bluetooth off on my phone, but the audio kept going. Then the talking turned into singing.

When I listened closely, the voice sounded just like me. The weird part? I have never recorded myself, and my phone wasn't even connected anymore. But the longer it played, the more I had a gut feeling that it wasn't actually me at all. forcing the speaker off by holding the power button. Right before it died, the display showed three repeating numbers that I see constantly.

I don't believe in ghosts but I definitely believe in strange phenomena. This left me with a really unsettling feeling that carried over into this morning. Would love to hear some thoughts.

Cheers!

So Long Meta Quest Link (Horizon Link)

Now that Virtual Desktop’s beta features USB connection testing to bypass Wi-Fi entirely, I’m finally ready to uninstall the Meta PC app. The official software is such a resource hog and loves to boot up randomly on its own.

I’ve tested a bunch of different games so far and performance has been rock solid. My Wi-Fi connection was always spotty (topping out around 1500 Mbps), but with USB I’m getting a steady 5000+ Mbps alongside noticeably lower latency. At this point, I see zero reason to keep Horizon Link around.

What are you going to do?

Cheers!

VPX Mixed Reality over Wired USB: The ALVR Solution

The Problem:

You're running VPX Mixed Reality tables on Quest 3. Virtual Desktop makes it work, the chroma key passthrough is chef's kiss. Your real room shows through where the VR room sphere color was.

But if you've got Wi-Fi interference (and who doesn't) wireless MR is basically unplayable. Dropped frames, stuttering, passthrough lag. You know.

Wired would fix all of it. But nobody had a documented wired MR solution for VPX.

Until now!

The Solution:

ALVR is a free, open-source PCVR streaming tool. You probably know it as a wireless Virtual Desktop alternative. But v20.12 added something nobody talks about:

#1. Wired USB support

#2. Built-in chroma key passthrough

After you install: Plug your Quest 3 in, Go thru all the tabs. Make sure to enable Wireless,  enable chroma key in ALVR (RGB Chroma Key, usually green - 0, 177, 64 or white- 255, 255, 255) ((most tables))) , launch VPX. Done. MR tables work fully wired with NO Virtual Desktop!

What You Actually Need:

Quest 3 (you need color passthrough)

USB cable (Link cable or good USB 3)

ALVR (free, latest release)

Developer Mode on your headset

The Setup (5 minutes)

Step 1: Meta Quest Link Settings

Open Meta Quest Link app on PC

Settings → Developer

Turn ON:

Developer Runtime Features

Passthrough over Meta Horizon Link

Passthrough Camera API permissions

Restart the app

Step 2: Install ALVR

Download latest from ALVR GitHub (https://github.com/alvr-org/ALVR/releases/tag/v20.14.1)

Install server on PC

Sideload client to Quest 3 (ALVR launcher handles this)

Step 3: Enable Wired Mode

ALVR dashboard → Devices

Toggle "Wired Connection"

Plug in headset via USB

Accept USB debugging prompt on headset

Step 4: Enable Chroma Key

ALVR dashboard → Passthrough

Enable chroma key mode

Set key color to match your table's sphere (usually green - 0, 177, 64 or white- 255)

Step 5: Launch VPX

Fire up your MR table

Real room shows through the keyed color

No Wi-Fi, no interference!

Play VPX VR MR Wired with NO Virtual Desktop!

Brownie Batter Vanilla Frosty Swirl?

Mine was more like an Oreo Brownie Batter Vanilla Frosty Swirl!

I tried one last night and I'm unsure, Should it taste like crushed Oreo mixed with some Oreo goop?

I'm not a fan of Oreo in general which is why I went with brownie batter.

But I wasn't expecting that taste.

Was it a mix up, or does Wendy's uses the Oreo cookie as the brownie batter?

Preserving the Pinball Aesthetic: When Does a DMD Just Become a Video?

To the amazing community of creators here, I want to start by expressing my deep admiration for the incredible talent and dedication that goes into these tables and display modifications.

With the rapid advancements in technology, As we have been noticing a shift in how DMDs are being created, moving toward high resolution, full screen video animations.

While these displays are undeniably stunning, I sometimes wonder if this shift risks losing the core nostalgic charm and authenticity of the original dot matrix displays that hold so much history for this hobby.

What are your thoughts on where the line should be drawn (if any) between enhancing the experience and fundamentally changing the original aesthetic? I’d love to hear different perspectives on this.

Cheers!!!

Meta Is Really Pissing Me Off!

Dear Meta,

Your latest Q3 update (Update 2.5.1034) has absolutely wrecked the Quest Link PC connection, and it is driving me insane.

Here is the current, incredibly frustrating loop:

  1. Connect to Quest Link. ( Never in 2 years have I had A PC ro Link issue)
  2. Headset screen times out / goes to sleep.
  3. Wake it up, and you are met with a permanent black void of nothingness. Quest Link is dead.
  4. The only fix? Reboot the entire Quest 3.
  5. Rinse and repeat. Every. Single. Time.

This is beyond annoying. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on premium hardware to deal with software that acts like a beta build.

To top it off, this update also completely bricked Meta AI. It just stops responding entirely until you guessed it, another headset restart.

Having to reboot my headset every time I put it down for a split second is completely unacceptable. Fix your OS, Meta. It's now broken worse then anything I have experienced..

I just might have to toss in the towel. The state of the playlist rotation is killing the fun.

It feels like it might finally be time to walk away. They recently removed Clash, a mode I was genuinely having a blast playing, and it clear from lobby chat that a lot of other players felt the same way. It has been a long time since I've heard that many people actually having a great time, shooting the breeze, and laughing together. The lobbies felt vibrant and fun again.

Now that it's gone, the game feels incredibly empty. Plunder used to be my absolute go to mode, but that was stripped away what feels like ages ago, and the core Warzone experience just hasn't been enjoyable since.

Modes like Clash and Plunder are essential for players who want to drop in with their own custom loadouts, engage in constant action, and instantly redeploy after a death. Without a permanent casual sandbox mode like these on the playlist, the game loses its casual appeal and forces everyone into a rigid playstyle. Removing the only modes that brought genuine, lighthearted fun to the community is incredibly discouraging.

Ugh....I hate big corps.

Thoughts?

Cheers!

Nvidia Drivers Past 05/26 or 591.74

MB is a MPG Z390 gaming pro carbon, I7 9700K, 64gb ram RTX 3060 12gb.

I have tried every driver after this including the studio varent and it never fails, after a random amount of time, not more than 5 min, HUD stops responding. Not just one VR game but any of them. The only driver that works without issue is "591.74" Jan 5 2026. Why?

Clash Game Mode Keeps Randomly Going To A Black Screen

Only in the game mode Clash, the screen will randomly go dark for a sec like the game paused, and it kind of does. Needless to say this makes playing almost impossible.

This is only happening in clash. Is anyone else having this issue?

VPX 4 Aces Williams 1970 Ball Launch W/ KL25Z

Not sure why I can not figure out how to get this working.

Since this table does not have a plunger, when I hit the "Enter" key on the keyboard, or the "Fire" Button on the KL25Z it launches the ball.

My KL25Z is also setup to use the plunger as the ZB Launch Ball by slightly pushing in on the plunger, this is linked to the "Enter" / "Fire" button.

It does work on all tables that have a "Launch Ball" but for whatever reason it will not function on this table? Why? I have gone into the script changed things but nothing.

Does anyone know why the keyboard buttons work, the KL25 buttons work but something with  the ZB Launch Ball Virtual button is not working on this table.

Thanks!

Like I said, I know its all setup right, Has been for years and have also double checked it on other tables.

Cabinet Journal — Personal Session Tracker for VPX Cabinet Owners (Free HTML Tool)

Hey everyone!

So... I've been messing around with something on the side and figured I'd share it with the community because why not.

What I built is a personal session journal for VPX cabinet owners. It's called Cabinet Journal and it's a single HTML file — no install, no server, just open it in your browser and it works.  It works great for anyone with a cabinet.

What it does:
- Log sessions — table name, score, play time, and a vibe rating (did this table piss you off or was it a GOAT session? 😄)
- Session Roadmap — a GitHub-style heatmap of every day you played, plus monthly and weekly views
- Hot Streak tracker — consecutive days played, last 14 days visualized
- Rage Meter — calculated from your vibe scores. Mine is not looking great right now
- Top Tables — ranked by plays with your best score and average vibe
- Stats — most played, best vibes, sessions by day of week, top scores, play time distribution
- Wishlist — tables you're hunting down with priority levels
- Click any day on the heatmap to see everything you played that day
- Imports your table library directly from PUPDatabase.db — just point it at C:\PinUPSystem\PUPDatabase.db and it reads your full list automatically. No scripts, no Python, just the browser

First time you open it, a quick setup wizard asks for your cabinet name. So it shows up as "Spacegoogie's Cabinet Journal" or whatever yours is called. Feels personal.

Everything saves locally in your browser. Export a backup JSON anytime, import it on another device.

Still working on a few things, Like I said just something I was making / playing around will. Some cabinet users don't want apps and programs installed so this might work for you.

if anyone knows the VPin Studio REST API endpoint and whether CORS is enabled, that would unlock a live sync option without needing to point at the .db file manually.

Download is just the one HTML file > https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j0fMvgIwI4izGmONHpR-vpbRsau0oSb_/view?usp=drive_linkOpen it. That's it.

Also posted it here with screenshots: https://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/14524-cabinet-journal

Anything else you would want to see in this?

Also, would love to know if the PUPDatabase import works for everyone's setup, my PinUP Popper is in the default location so not sure if there are edge cases. Drop any feedback below!

Cheers!

Clash is freezing randomly.

Like title says, the only game mode that seems to be randomly within 20 to 30 seconds with these pause like glitches is only happening in Clash?

Anyone else?

Season 4 update bugs

For anyone having issues with FPS drops, this is why:

Call of Duty's Season 4 update introduced severe server-side stability and optimization bugs, resulting in widespread and persistent stuttering, frame drops, and disconnects across PC, PS5, and Xbox. Because these problems stem from the game's core update, there are no perfect settings or hardware fixes to completely resolve them.

Quest Link With Nvidia Bug (Current Known Issue)

The NVIDIA Driver Bug (Current Known Issue)

https://preview.redd.it/axztkatkis4h1.png?width=1265&format=png&auto=webp&s=5264e1bd76c63ab0ef17bca4276ccf09477fdcfe

If you are using Meta Quest Link (especially via a physical Link cable) and updated your graphics drivers recently, you are likely hitting a widespread bug introduced in recent NVIDIA driver versions (such as the 595.xx series).

  • The Symptom: Everything runs perfectly for 2 to 20 minutes, then the headset image completely freezes, stretches, or tears, while the game audio continues normally and the PC monitor still tracks your head movements.
  • The Fix: Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to cleanly wipe the current drivers, then download and roll back to a stable release from January or February 2026 (like version 591.86 or 591.74).

I am back on Ver 591.74 and everything works again.

Thought I would share incase someone else is having this headache of an issue and it just might help you out.

Cheers!
