I'm 19M and recently noticed itching and changes to the skin on my scrotum. The problem is mainly on the left side, especially toward the bottom, with much less on the right.

When the skin is dry, the affected areas look white and flaky/peeling. When I take a shower and the skin gets wet, the white appearance disappears, but the affected areas still look raised/swollen.

I tried rubbing/peeling the white skin once, and the layer came off, leaving the skin underneath looking red/raw and making the itching worse. I'm not sure whether I saw actual blood or if it was just the red/raw skin.

The itching keeps coming back. I don't have significant pain or swelling of the testicles themselves. I also haven't noticed pus/discharge, blisters, ulcers, or fever.

I haven't used any medicated cream or treatment. I do change my body wash whenever one finishes, and I'm currently using MCaffeine Caramel Crunch Exfoliating Body Wash. I don't frequently sweat around the scrotum.

I was also frequently ejaculating in my underwear before sleeping, so there may have been semen/moisture against the skin overnight.

I'm sexually inexperienced and haven't had sexual contact.

What could cause this type of itchy, white/peeling and raised skin on the scrotum? Could it be irritation/dermatitis, a fungal infection, or something else? What should I do to help it heal?

Body:

Duration: I noticed this recently. The itching has been coming back, and the white/flaky skin seems to be getting more noticeable.

Location: Mainly on my scrotum, especially the left side and toward the bottom. There is much less on the right side.

Timeline: At first I noticed itching and what looked like multiple white spots/patches. I later realized the white areas are actually part of the skin and not something sitting on top. When I shower and the skin gets wet, the white layer becomes less visible/softens. If I rub or peel it, the skin underneath looks red/raw and becomes more itchy. I also noticed something similar on my fingertips after being in water, where the skin became white and softened.

Symptoms: Mainly itching and white/flaky/peeling skin. After I accidentally removed some of the skin, the area became red and more itchy. I'm not sure if the redness included a tiny amount of blood or was just raw skin. I don't have severe pain or swelling.

Treatments tried: I haven't used any medication or cream. I've mainly just showered and tried to keep the area clean. I did accidentally scratch/peel the white skin, which made it worse.

Relevant background: I'm 19M and sexually inexperienced/virgin, so I don't believe there has been any STI exposure. I've been using different body wash for monthly. I was also frequently ejaculating in my underwear before sleeping, so there may have been moisture/friction in the area. I'm wondering if this could be scrotal dermatitis/eczema, a fungal infection, or something else.

What could this be, and what should I do?

I’ve completed 12th Commerce and want to take admission in an online degree mainly so I can continue my studies while focusing on video editing, YouTube Shorts and clipping.

I’m looking for something that:

\- Has a decent/reputable degree value

\- Has moderate fees — I’m okay paying more if the degree is actually worth it

\- Doesn’t have extremely difficult exams

\- Has manageable assignments/exams and good flexibility

\- Is recognized/valid for future use

I’m not looking for the absolute cheapest option if that means the degree has very little value.

I’m considering courses like BBA, BA, B.Com, etc., but I’m open to suggestions.

If you’re currently studying through an online/distance university, I’d really appreciate your experience regarding fees, exams, difficulty, degree value and overall experience.
