So I was thinking of giving this book a try, so from other discussions and reviews I came to know that mmc is obsessed with both fmc and her best friend? Some people were wishing for him to end up with her best friend because that makes more sense? Mmc possibly doesn't even love the fmc(not even in a twisted way) and treats her as a toy instead? Possibility of MFF or mmc leaving fmc for her best friend in future?

Sorry I have never read any of her books before or know anything about her universe so anyone who has read these, can you confirm if it's true? Spoil a bit here if you want.

The details can be the smallest or the most normal things, maybe something that most people won't notice at all or think something of it. But you really liked it for reasons or maybe no reasons at all and can't explain it. Or maybe a specific line or mention of something in passing that made you really happy. Or maybe something a character did that you really found to be thoughtful or sweet of them etc.

For me it was:

In Deviant King trilogy, I loved how Aiden would randomly pinch Elsa's cheeks at times. There was no real explanation for it, I considered it as him being clingy with her. It was so fucking adorable 🥺.

I would love to hear about any sweet or small moments that I might have missed or forgotten from y'all.

I'm looking for books which has:

- It has that rivals to lovers trope where the mcs hate each other, but the twist is fmc secretly loves him a lot(although never reveals it, maybe because she knows he will never like her back).

-mmc actually hates the fmc and has someone else he loves intensely.... and then fmc sabotages his relationship(because she is so obsessed with him). It would be even better if mmc's girl was actually a nice woman without any bad traits, I want the fmc to be evil as hell.

-mmc finds out, and he hates the fmc even more now and wants revenge on her.

- To make it even angstier maybe he also gets to know about fmc's feelings, but of course doesn't reciprocates it immediately. He must think of her as a pathetic evil bitch.

- fmc must be twisted and mentally unstable as well because despite everything she is glad she has his attention even if it's hatred.

- An engaging plot, some where along mmc must fall for her and become obsessed. Although no pathetic grovel which affects his initial personality. If he is an unapologetic type of evil person I prefer he stays that way.

- Extremely toxic relationships.

It will be better if fmc is the type of person who has no self respect when it comes to the mmc, she is just so helplessly obsessed it's almost painfully pathetic. Otherwise she is different in other parts of her life.

Bonus points:

-Lots of hate sex.

-Or non con(maybe this is the way mmc tries extracting his revenge). Even if she fmc is obsessed with him she is quite shaken up, despite being hurt she is in delusion and tries justifying him in her mind.

-Jealousy scenes(both from fmc's side as well as the mmc's once he falls for her).

Hard Nos:

- some 'always meant to be' bs where it is revealed that mmc had somewhat liked her. No, I need him to hate her because she ruined everything. Maybe he wasn't that in love with his initial girl that's fine, but his feelings towards fmc must start with hate.

I'm craving some good drama.

The setting can be anything school, college, mafia, workplace, fantasy, historical etc.

So I have 20k ish comedk rank, I think I could get ai/ml by 3rd or 4th round(or would I not get?). I wanted to know how different is it from cse(since it's a cse allied branch after all) and if the companies which come for cse students don't let ones in ai/ml sit for placements. If the academics are stricter, etc.

Rest mostly I know, right now BIT seems like the best option to me.

If anyone is curious about my reasons: I never wanted to go to kiit in the first place, I have been interested in bangalore colleges(comedk rank 20k). It's my parents who are paranoid and paid everything despite me telling no multiple times. I finally won over them and want to refund as soon as possible.

Review of {Loving the liar by Lola King}. ALL OF IT IS BASED ON MY OWN PERSONAL OPINIONS.

Well to say this book both surprised and disappointed me at times.

I already kinda cringe at secret societies and so, although the concept was really creative but I think it wasn't executed properly. Lola had the perfect chance to make the whole process dark and gritty, make Ella's fear more realistic especially when she was about to be fucked by a random man. That scene was basically equivalent to non con wasn't it? She didn't know it was Chris, she was being ordered to comply to whoever it was. Instead by the end she was like "Yeah that was amazing—" Girl you just became a sex slave. I'm all up for body betrayal and forced enjoyment, or if fmc does enjoys it in a twisted way and hates herself later for it and is disgusted. But It's like the situation had no gravity when it should. I felt the same way in every scene that involved the society or rules.

On the other hand Chris' character impressed me.... like I wasn't really expecting him to be behind everything. He was actually a villain through and through, I loved how he was willing to do everything to have her, the lengths he went to..... until he didn't. Why did he have to change in the last 20 pages or so? He was suddenly like "yeah I will give you space now". He didn't back off when Ella self harmed, not when she was telling him desperately to leave her, and suddenly at the end when she was finally in love after he crawled out of his grave... he just backed off. Even if he did plan to back off I hoped there was more of his thought process and pov or anguish behind it, but there wasn't. The ending was sort of rushed.

It's my personal opinion but I think he didn't require any redemption after going so far. I feel like Lola king wants to write dark but at the same time not too dark, I felt she toned down on a few scenes and felt compelled to redeem Chris in some way to make him likeable.

On the positive side I quite enjoyed their relationship and scenes there were some deeply emotional ones as well, especially the one where Chris was actually crying. And loved the ones where he was all protective and taking care of her.

Not bad. I would rate the book 7/10. It can be enjoyable for most part.

This is the first Lola king book I have read and have also heard that it is one of her best works? Or it isn't? I'm excited to read the next book in the series "Loving the reaper" since I LOVE childhood friends to lovers but I have seen quite a negative reviews about it...

I would rather prefer the fmc to be very temperamental and emotional who reacts in slightest of provocations, has anger issues. She may hit/hurt someone who displeased or wronged her even if she is the one in wrong. Maybe fmc hates herself for being like this and often gets mental breakdowns. And believes no one will understand her or love her.

I want a "I support my woman's rights and wrongs" vibe from the mmc who literally doesn't cares if the fmc is mentally insane, does criminal stuff etc. Infact he is ready to help her with everything. I would like it even better if mmc is a person who doesn't have a dangerous vibe, like he is not a evil mafia or ceo type who is capable of hurting others.... just a normal person who only shows his true colors to the fmc that he is just as fucked up as she is so she doesn't have to feel alone.

Or mmc can be someone fully normal but he is so in love with the fmc that he is ready to do bad things for her.

I also needs lots of caretaking from him, when fmc gets some episodes or breakdowns he always tells her she is completely fine the way she is. He never tries fixing her.

Bonus things I would love:

- if mcs have been childhood friends and have known each other for a long time.

- fmc tries Killing herself? Due to underlying guilt or something and mmc holds her back.

An example of the dynamic I'm looking for.

Fmc: *thinking mmc is going to be disgusted and leave her after she confesses on the verge of tears*. I want to kill my father, his family bla bla bla because they did x to me. I know I'm wrong but—

Mmc: Ok sweetheart when? *holds her close because she is crying*(he's fully serious by the way, not for just making her feel good).

A scene I think which matches this vibe is, from {Unapologetic obsession by Drethi Anis} after Rose attacks that woman but Caden only cares that her hand has been hurt, he never cared about who she hurt and even blames the woman 🤭.

Both have intrigued me for a while. I will probably read both eventually but for now I need to choose one to start.

So without giving any major spoilers, readers of both tell me which one did you think was better in terms of plot, characters, angst etc.

Fmc2 is bisexual or lesbian and is interested in fmc1 not the mmc. I want to her to have a hot lesbian vibe and be as possessive and jealous as other DR mmcs and very protective of fmc1. Very clingy and always wants to follow her around and do everything with her.

Mmc too must have the same attitude towards fmc1 but he is not interested in fmc2 and rather views her as an adversary for fmc1's love.

Fmc1 will obviously be bisexual. Her personality can be anything but clearly she must be interested in both fmc2 and mmc and often doesn't knows who to go for(wants the both of them).

No relationship or interest will spark between fmc2 and mmc, they are there for fmc1 only.

I need fmc1 to end up with both of them and not just one.

Bonus points/dynamics:

-if fmc1 and fmc2 have been best friends sharing a deep relationship and fmc2 has always yearned for her.

-OR another case where fmc2 and mmc are friends or something who both get interested at the same time and decide to go for her(fmc1 is the only good thing they both have in their life).

-Hot jealousy and rivalry moments between fmc2 and mmc for fmc1 🤭.

I can't believe I dreamed of something like this and have been fantasizing the thing for a whole day 😅.

BUT because he loves her.

So I'm looking for a very specific dynamic:

-Where mmc is bullying fmc because he likes her in a twisted way and can't stay away. Maybe he didn't like her when he initially started bullying and later fell in love, even that would be fine.

-Mmc has been fmc's Bully for a while, not any hard-core type maybe normal bullying with calling names and stealing stuff and most importantly always clinging to her and following her everywhere.

-For this specific dynamic I need fmc to be soft hearted and sensitive who is actually scared of the mmc because she views him as a meanie as he has hurt others badly before or because he is just from a really powerful family which can destroy her life.

-So basically fmc keeps trying to get away and mmc keeps chasing her, not knowing how to show his attention in a proper way.

Look I know all of these doesn't makes much sense 😅, I guess I'm looking for darker twisted versions of stories with tsundere male leads I used to read about in Mangas or something or some delusional thinking like "He is bullying you because he likes you". I think I'm not able to explain this properly...

Other bonus points:

-Jealous possessive mmc who is protective and won't let others Bully her.

-some dark and sweet non con scene where fmc believes mmc is doing it to hurt her, while mmc snapped because he can't stay away from her anymore, maybe because fmc was trying to like someone else or because it was time for her to move away because it's the final year of their school or college.

-fmc cries and breaks down in front of him at one point.

Let's say I'm looking for some marriage in trouble recs or anything that involves the married life of mcs. It can be arranged marriage or love marriage turned toxic, anything.

I would like if:

-Mcs are already married or get married at the very beginning. Preferably no divorce arc.

- Mcs do NOT have a kid or any kid from previous relationships. Breeding or pregnancy is ok if the kid is born near the end of the story or epilogue but not in the middle. Although I would love themes where fmc has some difficulty getting pregnant, they want a kid and are actively trying for it.

- No dead spouses on either side, previous relationships are ok though.

- Mmc is a toxic or controlling husband or another type where he is sweet and hides his darkness underneath, he manipulates fmc. Fmc can be meek, shy, obedient wife or she can be defiant bratty one doesn't matters either way.

- No cheating. If mmc doesn't likes her initially he should be cold not go to another woman. Although I love those books where mmc is obsessed from the very beginning so it's a plus point.

- Mafia backgrounds usually make these stories more interesting, but I would take anything, it can be billionaire romance, normal suburban couple or even historical and fantasy as long as it has everything I mentioned especially the toxic husband trope.

No other triggers for kinks, non con or dubcon, infact I would love them.

So I'm looking for a book where.

-Fmc is mmc's enemy's daughter(she can be matured or spoiled doesn't matters either way, daddy issues is a plus point or if fmc has any additional trauma).

-Fmc must be over 18, I would prefer if fmc and mmc have never met properly or talked before, it's ok if they just saw each other two or three times in the past but that's it.

-Older manipulative mmc with huge age gap(almost old enough to be her father). He wants revenge on his rival(fmc's father) and decides to use the fmc.

-Would prefer if mmc is not cruel for comical reasons, he must be matured and very manipulative with her. There must be some hurt/comfort and care taking dynamics.

-Mmc is conflicted when falling in love with her, would be better if he doesn't falls too easily or tries to hold himself back.

-Jealousy scenes are a plus point 🤭.

-Lots of angst when fmc finally finds out and feels so betrayed.

-Can have a mafia/criminal background or buisness rivals.

Can have non con and other stuff.

So I just finished this series by Drethi Anis and holy fuck the sheer drama and toxicity in it, I love toxic messes.

I had started this book because I read somewhere Milo is D.A.'s most unhinged mmc, so I wondered if he would be more unhinged than Caden. Plus this book had every trope and thing I loved childhood friends to lovers, non con, obsessive mmc, etc.

The first chapter instantly had me hooked, then I read flashbacks of their past.... I fell in love with Milo and Raven's relationship. They were so cute, the way Raven collected those notes especially, the way Milo began seeing her as the most important thing of his life. I began pitying Milo because of his life, he was forced to mature up too early. The entirety of the first book was pure pain, their cute relationship started turning toxic it filled me with sadness and exhaustion for no reason. I was crying for Milo sometimes because it felt like no one truly understood him. It's understandable why he became so obsessed with her because he had no one else to rely on. He was afraid she would leave him, as a result his obsession ruined them yet he couldn't control himself. Don't know why I could relate to Milo sometimes.

"I'm so in love with you it hurts." It broke me because at that time Raven didn't feel the same(atleast she thought so, because personally I think she had always been in love with the loving side of Milo).

I loved Raven's character as well, it was always evident she did love Milo, his caring and loving side yet the toxicity between them gave her trauma. She loved one part of him and hated the other which hurt her. Their dynamics were abusive to the point it made her mind want to hurt herself, yet she wanted to stay with him, she couldn't stop loving his good side. She couldn't explain others what she felt, because they were right about everything she was defending her abuser, she wanted to see the good in him, her heart couldn't go the right way.

I think this book had one of the best representations of toxic relationship, something that feels so right to you yet it is so harmful and destroys you but you don't want to walk away because that's all you know, the feeling of rightness despite the pain. The scene where she had sex with him after beating him at her old house was one of the best, especially when they were discussing the life they couldn't have... 😭

Fuck their parents in particular, I hated each of them so much throughout the books I was so mad at her mother when she announced Raven's pregnancy right after finding the test, I wanted Raven and Milo to have an emotional moment alone. Milo did the right thing by cutting them off.

Their hea felt well earned and satisfied, the trilogy emotionally wrecked me because it was so realistic and thought provoking. I even loved the side characters Mia and Reid(his novella was heartbreaking, but I never thought Raven and him would be good together because she always did saw him as a brother. I loved their platonic relationship). I think I would rate the entire Trilogy 9/10.

The song "Love the way you lie", both parts goes so perfectly with them I think from now on I will always be reminded of this trilogy whenever I hear it. Is there anyone else who loved these books so much like me?

There are a lot more scenes I loved and couldn't rave enough about them. Anyways I'm afraid Drethi Anis is becoming one of my top authors, I love her writing style the way she writes the darkness of her mmcs, I end up liking every work of hers.

Coming to the comparison to Caden, sure Milo was really unhinged but he was the type of character whose obsession and unhinged nature developed slowly it wasn't his real personality but became a part of his personality he knows what he does is wrong yet he can't stop himself, but Caden has always been unapologetic in his ways he remains as who he always was(so yeah Daddy Caden wins, for me he is definitely more unhinged 👑). But I loved Milo, he was more complex and well written I connected to him so much.

I think I'm gonna read Organized Chaos and Discord after this which seems to be about Mia and Brandon.

So I was just done with twelfth, gonna do btech cse, probably would be getting into a private college which is expensive with a bad ROI which often makes me think if I should get into cheaper lower government colleges in my state. Of course they don't have much exposure or placements like the private ones. But I have always wanted to do MBA from a good college which will also be expensive. My family can afford both but I feel like a burden sometimes thinking about it, so anything to lessen the financial costs.

My 10th/12th/ is 9/8.5/ till now, I'm a general female. I'm aware I will have to keep a high CAT percentile and probably won't get a few IIMs due to my 12th percentage.

Any advices from seniors or someone who did the same will be appreciated.
