The title sums it up. Drum + Bass on two eps (133 and 40) etc…

...Such as the one pictured (not the electric version of a physical tabla drum).

Anyone have any experience with these? Any insight as to how they work with other gear, midi/sync etc?

I don't think this ever comes up or is speculated about in the books.

I've recorded a lot of noodling and jams in the last 6 months but yesterday I locked in and finished a project I've had on the go for a few weeks. It's not *perfect*, but it is *finished*. Kind of, I may still add some more vocals.

Kit list, because we all love gear here: Sonicware Ambient 0 (with train sounds I sampled on the Northern Line) going through a TE Sidekick for tremolo FX, TE EP-40 (going through a Valeton GP-5 for delay) and EP-133 for the drums, Arturia Microfreak (again through the GP-5), Roland S-1 for bass (in two separate passes) and an E-4 for some vocal effects, all recorded on a Zoom R20. Seven stereo tracks in total.

Forgive the low effort video, it was about the best I could do at short notice, for free, and not using AI. Had to be compressed for Reddit to accept the upload.

Had a quick jam with the new blues scale on the EP-40 this morning. Maybe more than any other it's very easy to get something sweet sounding out of it.

The small sun umbrella helps a lot to see something in direct sunlight 🤗

Picked up the Ambient 0 recently and it's a great companion for the EP Series, which don't do long ambient pads all that well.

Still getting the hang of tweaking 4 devices at once, though its easier when I'm not holding a camera..

Almost a quarter hour of bullshit noodling, missed cues, forgetting where the scenes are, and wondering whether I should have been holding a spliff for clout.

I even went to the trouble of syncing the video to the lineout recording so you can't hear me heavy breathing into the phone mic.

There's a good bit about 9 minutes in - I'd skip to that if I were you, or better yet skip the whole thing.

Don't mean to spam, but I'm really enjoying this compact combination at the moment, it's a nice change to make something very simple with a simple setup.

Thoroughly recommend the S-1 if you're into tiny dawless jams.
