I’m newish to my ward and my calling is temple cleaning coordinator. Our first temple cleaning is this coming weekend and I don’t have enough volunteers. I set up a sign up weeks ago but only have 2 volunteers. Well now I’m getting desperate. I’ve been cold calling everyone in tools but only gotten a few sign ups. Anyone have any advice?

We have toddler twins and an infant. Today twin B has a cold and put herself to bed at 5pm (she’s fine just sleeping it off). I just had my first solo bedtime with twin a while mom puts the infant down and oh my gosh, it was sooo much easier. Seriously being able to give my full attention to one child was a way underrated experience I didn’t realize I was missing.
Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t trade my twins for anything and I’m very grateful we have them but I’m also grateful I was able to give 100% to one child tonight rather than dividing my attention and herding cats till bedtime.

One week no accidents. (Twins are 2.5)
Live on the south side near the prison, off Wilmot just south of i10. Cox has been out since 1pm yesterday afternoon. All my app says is that they are working on it. Is this affecting anyone else or any insights as to why it’s taking so long?
How do you handle this? Can’t separate them at night. B is afraid of the dark. A keeps getting out of bed to play with and around the nightlight. They’re 2.5 and not in cribs so we can’t force her to stay in bed.
Edit: the issue is more that she keeps getting out of bed and playing in general than that she specifically is fiddling with the light
I’ve created a routine that plays a specific bedtime playlist for my kids. Until yesterday anyone telling the devices in the kids’ rooms “bedtime” would trigger this playlist. However starting yesterday it no longer plays this playlist for my wife. I can come in and say “bedtime” and the playlist will play but when she says it instead of our custom playlist it does a generic lullaby playlist that does not put our kids to sleep. I can even check the routine history and she is activating the routine but it is not doing our playlist for her for some reason. Help!
Twins girls are 2.5 (31 months) and infant is 4 months. We’re on day 8 of potty training the twins. This week has been the most exhausting week since the twins were infants. But today while I was helping twin A and mom was helping the infant, twin B (admittedly the more independent one) went to the bathroom, and removed her undies and went poop in the toilet all by herself with no help!
I’m the dad of twins who were 34+5 when born and both in for 36 days (including their first Christmas at 10 days old). They are now 2.5 years old and our third kid is 4 months (full term, no NICU).
At work today my rotating desktop background slideshow brought up a photo of twin B in the NICU and I just started bawling.
I feel so pathetic, all three of my kids are healthy and happy and home yet these deep psychological scars are still there rearing their ugly head when I least expect it.
The picture wasn’t even that bad, no tubes on her face, only the ankle monitor’s wire coming out of the swaddle, and the id bracelet on her wrist; sleeping peacefully in the NICU bed. Nothing that should be too triggering, but for some reason it was.
Does this PTSD ever go away?
For any parent of multiples just starting on their journey or wondering how to get weekly shopping done with their multiples in tow, look into grocery delivery options! It literally saved my wife and me so much time not having to take the twins out shopping every week

Always hang your clothing on the left side of your closet. Then the longer you don’t wear something the further right it will naturally migrate. Next time you want to declutter the right side of your closet will be the clothing you never wear and can get rid of
Had the baby blessing for my daughter yesterday. Had asked bishop 2 months ago if we could do it this week and got approval (via text). Both sets of grandparents flew in for the event.
At the beginning of the meeting the counselors announced Bishop was out of town for the holiday. My wife and I immediately had a suspicion that the counselors may not know/have forgotten about the baby blessing.
I text both of them frantically to remind them. However I can see neither one looks at their phone.
After the hymn they move on to ward business and sure enough they don't announce the baby blessing and move on to the sacrament.
that point I decide to call the first counselor to see if I can get him to check my text message. Fortunately that works and he takes out his phone to silence my call at which point he notices my message.
No harm done, we do the baby blessing between sacrament and testimonies but a PSA for all parents, make sure your bishopric is reminded about a baby blessing before the meeting starts.
Parents of older (teen or above) twin girls, My twins are still too young for it but looking towards the future, will they start their first periods near one another or will one start well before the other? Wondering how screwed of a dad I will be once they hit puberty
Between primate and peafowl extreme aversion to snakes and mongooses and other specialized snake hunting species, it seems like an unusually high number of bird and mammal species seem hardwired against snakes. Is it because all species of snakes are obligate carnivores, an evolutionary arms race, or am I just noticing a pattern that isn’t really there?
Any other twin parents bothered by Molly Weasley and other twin parents in media? Having identical twins I find it completely unbelievable that Molly can't tell her twins apart and that Fred and George are always treated as a single unit. Let them be individuals. I grow sick of our lived experience being a plot device.
We bought our home 2 months ago. Every so often the tap water goes black then later goes clear on its own after a day or two. What’s going on? (We notice this most in the kids bathtub and in all 3 toilets) it does not affect our drinking water (reverse osmosis filter)
Edit: I just tested it, it’s the only cold water line not the hot water.
Ours are 2.5F. Twin A usually likes yellow and purple and twin B usually likes pink. Today they must have woken up funny because they switched everything. Twin B wanted purple clothes and purple shoes and Twin A took her pink gear. Then at breakfast they switched favorite cereals and water bottles. I think they are intentionally trying to switch places
My (33M) younger brother (26M) just graduated 2 months ago from his masters program but so far has not put in a lot of work into finding a job. He applies to a few positions a week and so far has had a few interviews that have gone nowhere. In the past I’ve encouraged him to broaden his horizons and apply to positions further away from my parents but he has been very reluctant and claims he is worried about moving away from home because he has no savings for a down payment on an apartment.
This past week he texted our family group chat (includes my parents, the rest of my siblings, and the spouses for those of us in relationships) asking for advice on if he should spend the money to replace his dying laptop when he has so little savings and doesn’t make very much from his part time job. On further inquiry he mentioned he currently works for $10 per hour and said his current job will let him start working 35 hours per week starting next month after all the schools break for the summer.
I replied “You are definitely living below your means if you are limited to $10 per hour 35 hours per week. Even if you haven’t found a career in your field there is no reason you shouldn’t be making twice that and working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Costco or another retail job would pay you much better and give you more hours. Also since you are young, out of a relationship, and not currently in school, you could easily work multiple jobs and have a nice full schedule and nice full paycheck. Even if you don’t find a career in your field by this time next year you could easily be living on your own with a nice finished apartment and better car if you work to the max”
He never replied directly to my message but later in a separate family group chat (we have several chats for different topics) posted something about mental health awareness month and I’m wondering if I went too far with my message about getting a job.
Additional considerations: this brother is autistic and living with my parents who pay for his car insurance and cover his gas bills and he doesn’t pay rent to them for housing or food.
So AITA for how I replied to my brother to try to encourage him to get a better job?
