Who has had cervical disc replacement?

I am being faced with this very same thing and it’s kind of daunting.
I am looking for answers, pro and con for this, what your experiences have been.
And I am specifically asking about replacement instead of fusing… (but if some of you have had fusing, I welcome your thoughts on that as well.)

So has anyone been affected by Covid?

(I think I might’ve posted about this way back a while ago, but I don’t remember)

So I was diagnosed with MS in 2007.
Wiped me on my ass for many years then I kind of had a relapse and was doing moderately OK but when Covid hit my roommates ended up giving me Covid TWICE and ever since then I have just been absolutely messed up!!
And I still have not been able to bounce back… I am now 61 and honestly I don’t think I ever will bounce back… between the MS and other health issues related to the MS and the Covid affecting my MS -I’m just fucked.
My diet has changed -pre-Covid the food that I used to eat some of them I can’t eat anymore/can’t tolerate, my fatigue has gotten worse, my balance worsened, my headaches are more often, IBS worsened…etc.
I’m just mentioning my story and I like to hear your stories too if any of you can relate

Does anyone have weird issues with not being hungry?

Despite your body wanting food, the rest of you just doesn’t wanna eat? I seem to get this every summer when the heat ramps up.

(info: I was diagnosed back in 2007 so what I’m posting about today hasn’t really been an issue until now and I’m kind of flummoxed)

How to have a conversation with someone who is a 100% Christian when I am not?

So yesterday I was having a texting conversation with a family member who is 100% God Christian faith.
And I was kind of struggling with relating, commenting in the fact that I am not, I do not. For me, God is a construct of Catholicism and Christianity. That version of Spiritually I am not.
For me, Quakerism is about the mysticism of the spiritual aspects just like Buddhism, Taoism, Kabbalah, native American beliefs, existentialism….
So I’m interested to know how you guys feel about these things.
Especially for those of you who are like me. And with dealing with relatives who are like mine.
Do you just shut up and just not say anything or do you speak up?

So I recently posted a comment in a different Reddit post about who is the best artist that did knocking on heavens door..

My first choice was Bob Dylan but at the same time I could not stop thinking about supernatural because that was the first time that I ever heard Bob Dylan actually singing that song via supernatural. It kind of made me cry.
So this is what I posted in that …
“I know this is totally out there and some might think it’s not even appropriate for this question but I postulate that it is.
Because the first time that I heard the Bob Dylan version of this song was when I watched this series and it made me cry! Because I realized that the words to this song totally applies to the brothers in this series (supernatural) in ways that I didn’t even know until I watched it.
But this video that I am posting gives a whole different perspective because it is actual female singer, singing this absolutely beautiful song (and I think she does a kick ass job) and the video encapsulates the words in the meaning of this song. Any opinions I would like to hear them.”
And this was the video that I posted there because I thought it encapsulated the brother’s journey and the song lyrics as well.
I think it was actually season five not season two.

Since when did Apple TV purchases stop being available?

I’m actually kind of livid right now because the last straw for me tonight was in trying to watch the David Lynch Duran Unstaged.
I bought this content a while ago and when I went in to my Apple TV, I got this.
And over in the last two years content that I bought for my Apple TV has just disappeared. I never once used to have this issue and in fact, I always thought my Apple TV purchases were completely safe because for so long everything that I bought for my Apple TV to watch was there and now suddenly shit‘s not.
It really really ticked me off to no end!! so now basically Apple TV is just like every other streaming service. It’s just at the whims of whoever decides they own the rights for. And that’s fucking bullshit!
For me, this is kind of further proof that getting everything on a DVD or Blu-ray as a backup is the best option.

(BTW, now I have to go onto prime to watch this!… yeah I know some of you might think well at least you get to watch it on prime…for me I’m still 😡 that I have to watch it on prime because I bought it for my Apple TV!)

I’m just generally curious… how many women here in this group have best friends who are males instead of females?

I specifically asked this because I have never in my life ever had a good female friendships because they just wanted to backstab and gossip and do things that just made me wanna vomit.
And all of my good friendships have been with dudes.

So how many of y’all have found better friendships with guys than women?

In fact, my best friend has been my best friend since the 1990s-and he’s a guy.
Guys straight up, totally honest, don’t bullshit and that is exactly how I am. I don’t like to play any kind of games and every single female friend that I have ever had has been nothing but about playing some kind of f game!

I have never understood this and I don’t think I ever will why women love to tear other women down, why women have to always try to gain the upper hand with another female friend.
It’s totally BS!

Are any of you all fans of the David Koepp books narrated by Rupert Friend?

Technically, I have been a longtime fan of this screenwriter because he’s just awesome, but he wrote these 2 books…
And I didn’t even realize that cold storage was a book before it became a movie…(and technically I absolutely love the movie, but I have listened to the audiobook and it’s even better than the movie) and I just started listening to his first book aurora.
I’m just curious to know if anyone has listened to these audiobooks and what your opinions might be…

For whatever reasons I just felt this overwhelming rage that I have not experienced in years!!! it just suddenly hit me all of a sudden, and I took it all out on my pillow, and I bashed it with my fists over and over and over again until it was totally released and now I feel such a total calming release of that rage.
And the perplexing aspect of this is the fact that I had no feelings rage against any one particular person or an event or anything that I have experienced.
It just hit me as like a tsunami from nothingness. I am really perplexed by this.
Is this just all of my stress and the issues that I have been dealing with in my daily life that has just built up in me and I finally found a release?

So last week, I’m chilling out in the afternoon watching TV in my bed and all of a sudden concurrently I hear a very low MHz tone, pulsing sensation in my body, and the windows started shaking. The whole thing lasted for like eight seconds…. But it kind of threw me because I’ve never had that happen before.
The first thing that occurred to me was a supersonic plane going overhead, but when I checked available aviation data nothing showed up.
(there are no data centers near me, there are no quarries near me)
Just curious what y’all might think that might’ve been.

When I was a teenager, I was gaga over all of the old studio films from the 30s and the 40s! Every time I got a chance to watch an old black-and-white movie on the TV no one could pry me away from that. So I was a teenager 13-16 that could not relate to other teenagers because I just love the old stuff.
At the same time, I was also a huge fan of Magnum PI. I had zero friends that could relate to either.

The older that I get the more, I am reminded that an era in which I have lived 60+ years of my life is dwindling down.
As usual on every May 4, I watch nothing but Star Wars.. it’s always bittersweet for me for me now because so many of the actors that were in the original films are no longer here, and the same is true for my beloved Star Trek. As well, so many things that I also grew up with are even fodder now for TV shows (I am specifically referring to the Henry Winkler series ha), and kids rolling their eyes when I reminisce about stuff ‘from the olden days’.
Because I grew up in a completely different century, I’ve witnessed so many things in my lifetime from fads to history. And I just wonder if everyone who gets to be a certain age also feels this way? Is it just part of becoming a senior citizen?
I really would like to hear some of your stories!
