My two cents on the issue.

First and foremost, the game still has two chapters to go. They could be as short as chapter 1 or as masive as UNDERTALE itself, so, to do any kind of jugement we have to wait and see what happens.

That being said, from here things can take one of two forms.

1)Toby deliverately made Suselle shallow while teasing Krusie/Kriselle/Krusielle because is the real endgame.

2)Toby is human and just wanted to include his personal preferences despite his own setting.

And while the second option seem more inflamatory, lets start by analyzing the first, which will also set the key framing for the second.

Before anyone shout biggot at me, let me point ot that I find pretty endearing the AlphysXUndine and it actually made me sad when I realized that they weren't together in deltarune and of course all real life queer people have my full support and empathy. That being said, the first four chapters solidified one opinion in me, that Suselle wasn't a full realization of the Alphyne but actually a poor repetition. Alphyne is actually part of the puzzle of a True Pacifist ending because it ties Alphys character arc, which gives her the bravery to get closer to Undine, while you also led them to interact more and realize that they have something in common. Suselle has none of that.

From the get go, Suselle was presented by a one way crush from Noelle with Susie, or rather and more importantly, with the idea that Noelle has about who is Susie. Chapter 2 "suselle moments" actually played with the classic trope of a woman being madly in love with a hero that is too thick headed to understand that she was interested with him: if Toby wrote them as a joke, is kinda contradictory that he wanted that we took them seriously from a day to another. And thats the key, Alphys and Undine had known at least circustantialy for years, Susie and Noelle don't. Overall, their relationship feeling so rushed is only reinforced how this chapter their characterization fall apart when they are with each other. Someone may say "but is a realistic teenage romance", which is a weak defense but would only further my point.

Lets asume that Susie was into girls from the get go and she wasn't thickheaded but actually very nervous about Noelle’s flirting. Well, it doesn't mean that they are made from each other: we all discovered at that age how conflicting can be our feelings, desires and romantic relationships. Heck, we all know a dude/gal that declares that they are heterosexual but we know they had same sex partners in high school. Maybe this romance was meant to be bad while the deeper conections are left unresolved until its time to close each character arc.

Then we have the less exciting but not entirelly imposible option. Toby just like butch x nerd ships for the sake of it. I mean, deltarune is his work and he is in the right to do whatever he pleases, but unfortunate that would mean that his writing isn't as top notch as we were lead to belive based on his previous work.

Most people aren't interested in colecting all the characters. Most people don't have all the Azur Lane ships nor their normal equivalent. Most people just want their waifu. Many people won't spend money if they have to gamble for the very slim chance of getting their waifu but would do if thy actually got what their want. For me, it seem a bad business decision to not let people spend on what their want and just focus in milking the very small base of whales.

I mean, a japanese DD let lose when your team is reduced to BBs is one of the most nightmerish experiences, but in early game I feel that is either having one less player or a gamble which you gonna lose if RED has a Grom or a Blyska. Is it just me or this assestment holds actually true?

Some days ago I discovered that, when in dimn lights as the street lights coming through the curtains at night, my vision goes full black after about 8 seconds if I keep my eyes still and without blinking, as if in a stare contest. Vision goes back to normal as soon as I move my eyes or blink. I have Visual Snow Syndrome since I was 14. My last full delated eye exam was October last year and I had a partial exam in January due an outburst of floaters that I thought it was a retinal tear, and my ophthalmologist said both times that I was OK from the retina.
