I am close to losing my mind when setting up llama.cpp for the use with Hermes Agent.

I have a Radeon RX 6800XT and 32Gb Ram. I am using the Qwen3.6 A3B in the Q4-K-XS quant by unsloth.

But I don't get it stable running at all. If I am asking AI or searching the web I get conflicting answers or answers I don't understand. Especially when it comes to -flash-attn support (I am not sure if this is needed).

The parameters I have running so far:

n-gpu-layers = 14

ctx-size = 65536

flash-attn = false

cache-type-k = q8_0

cache-type-v = f16

reasoning-preserve = true

parallel = 1

threads = 12

If some can help me with tweaking the settings that it gets stable and maybe a tiny bit quicker, I'd be really helpful.

I have an idea that might be pretty uncommon but I've not yet seen a similar post.

To make it brief. I really like learning foreign languages and improvement is always possible.

I have a lot of concept notes for my studies and I think it would be very helpful to me writing some concept notes in the languages I learn.

So is there a possibility or plugin that enables me write a note in multiple languages and switch between them?

There is really not much to say, just that the speech recognition is so terrible and never working that Duolingo is just not worth the massively overpriced subscription fee.

I mean what's the use of a language app that won't teach you to speak?

I tried handing my phone to native speakers and even then "failed" the pronunciation exercises.

I'm looking for feedback from people who have spent time improving the Hermes Agent experience.

What single change (or small set of changes) had the biggest impact on your agent's performance, reliability, or overall usefulness?

Hi fellow Ai enthusiasts. I have a 16GB Radeon RX 6800XT and 32GB DDR5 VRam. I was using Gemma4:12b so far with ollama. Which seems to work but often I think Hermes could do better.

I tried Qwen3.6 which seems to slow because of the CPU offloading.

Do you have any recommendations for local open weight models and this setup?

I've been rethinking how I manage attachments in Obsidian and I'm curious what the community is doing these days.

My vault has grown to include a mix of screenshots, PDFs, diagrams, images, and other reference files. Obsidian's default attachment handling works fine, but once the vault gets larger, things start to feel a bit messy.

I've looked at a few community plugins that help with things like:

- Automatically organizing attachments into folders

- Renaming files to match note titles

- Moving orphaned attachments

- Cleaning up unused files

- Managing pasted images more intelligently

What surprised me is that everyone seems to have a completely different philosophy. Some people keep all attachments in a single folder, others organize by note location, and some create elaborate attachment workflows with multiple plugins.

So I'm wondering:

1. Which attachment-related plugins have become essential for your workflow?

2. How do you structure attachment storage in larger vaults?

3. Have you found any plugin combinations that work especially well together?

4. What's one attachment-management mistake you made that you'd avoid if starting a new vault today?

Interested to hear both simple and highly-automated setups. Sometimes the most elegant workflows are the least complicated.

I am using the CHEM plugin. But when I render a smiles string as code block I have structure floating lost in my notes. But i would like to label them, compare them etc.

Inline smiles also doesn't work for me even though there is a setting for it. But writing $smiles=C1=CC=CC=C1$ Only returns latex for example, also it matches the string defined in the settings.

Somebody has fixed this and can tell me how to add chemical structure without a ton of effort to my notes.

I'm considering using Honcho Memory with Hermes and would love to hear from people who have real-world experience with it.

A few questions:

- How well does Honcho Memory work with Hermes in practice?

- What kinds of workflows or use cases are you using it for?

- How is the retrieval quality and relevance over time?

- Have you run into any issues with latency, memory pollution, hallucinated memories, or scaling?

- How does it compare to alternatives like Mem0, Zep, Graphiti, or rolling your own memory system?

- If you were starting from scratch today, would you choose Honcho again?

I installed SearxNG as docker container on my Ubuntu machine.

I followed the docs, set the return format to JSON.

I actually starts a search (or at least looks like it) but stops and says "No sources found".

When I open up SearxNG in the browser it works without problems and returns results.

Alle Menschen wollen auf Social Media interessant sein. Die Leute die auf Social Media abhängen sind gleichzeitig die uninteressantesten im Raum. Und jedes TikTok das du dir ansiehst, ist Zeit in der du im Grunde schon tot warst.

Mir fällt auf, dass in den sozialen Medien und im Alltag viele ihre Unzufriedenheit mit Friedrich Merz oder der Bundesregierung äußern. Und laut Umfragen *über 70% unzufrieden* sind. Gleichzeitig scheint es aber so, als würden die meisten außer Diskussionen im Internet wenig unternehmen.

Woran liegt das eurer Meinung nach?

Ist es mangelndes Vertrauen, dass Protest oder politisches Engagement etwas bewirken? Fehlt die Zeit oder Motivation? Oder seid ihr eigentlich zufrieden genug, dass ihr keinen Handlungsbedarf seht?

Mich interessiert ehrlich, warum zwischen der oft geäußerten Unzufriedenheit und tatsächlichem Engagement (z. B. Demonstrationen, Parteiarbeit, Bürgerinitiativen oder anderen Formen der Beteiligung) häufig so eine große Lücke besteht.

I want to use my documents and notes for my STEM studies. But it is unclear to me how I setup a clean RAG that works well with all my study notes.

For example: if I want to use AI to learn for my Bioscience exam, how would this be implemented at best?

Ich finde es ehrlich gesagt seltsam, dass wir von normalen Arbeitnehmern ständig Leistung einfordern, während wir bei der wichtigsten Führungsposition des Landes deutlich niedrigere strukturelle Hürden haben.

Jeder Arbeitnehmer kennt:

- Probezeit

- befristete Arbeitsverträge

- regelmäßige Leistungsbewertung

- ein Renteneintrittsalter

Warum gilt nichts Vergleichbares für Bundeskanzler*innen?

Ich fände ein System sinnvoll, bei dem eine Bundeskanzlerin zunächst nur für eine Art "Probezeit" im Amt ist. Danach müsste das Parlament ausdrücklich bestätigen, dass die bisherige Arbeit überzeugt hat. Außerdem sollten Amtszeiten grundsätzlich stärker befristet sein, anstatt theoretisch beliebig verlängert werden zu können.

Und ja: Ich würde sogar über ein Rentenantrittsalter nachdenken. In fast jedem Beruf gibt es Altersgrenzen oder zumindest den Übergang in den Ruhestand. Warum sollte ausgerechnet die politisch verantwortungsvollste Position davon komplett ausgenommen sein?

Mir geht es dabei ausdrücklich nicht um einzelne Personen oder Parteien. Ich würde dieselben Regeln für jeden Bundeskanzlerin fordern – unabhängig von der politischen Richtung.

Wenn wir von jedem normalen Arbeitnehmer erwarten, dass Leistung regelmäßig überprüft wird und niemand auf Lebenszeit in einer Spitzenposition bleibt, sollte das für Politiker*innen erst recht gelten.

Bin ich mit dieser Meinung allein?
