Illios lighthouse gameplan?

Illios has always been a bit of a rougher map for me. I think I'm getting a flow for well and ruins a bit. But I feel unimpactful on lighthouse.

I feel like I should try to control the high ground platform in the middle, but I don't feel I can maintain it for long. It almost feels better to play point, but I imagine my team won't appreciate me doing that.

Does anyone have an approach to this map? Specifically?

What do you think stops in game transfer the most?

I know each game has its own specific mechanics that make aiming a bit different. What do you think are common factors that stop you from getting the aim you see in kovaaks in game? Only thing I can think of is poor movement. But I want to consider other factors

Who all do you have in your tank pool?

I'm kinda new to wanting to play tank and I LOVEEEE Mauga. But I notice he gets banned a lot. He's also super intuitive to me to play. I was just wondering what other mauga mains like to play other than him. I like zarya but I feel like games are wayyyy harder with her than on mauga

Has anyone made a map guide?

I have pretty good ideas on some maps of exactly what I want to do every single time. But there are some maps like Kings row defense first point where I just hope for the best. Does anyone know of any kind of map guide content?

What's stopping me from climbing?

3QAC0D (colosseo) Match is M1-C5 range on PC. I was Gm 3 this game, demoted to GM4. Played only soldier 76.

TLDR: I'm not sure what is stopping me from climbing. I'm still winning more than I lose, but there are soldier players climbing faster than me. So if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, i'd appreciate it. I am Godplex in game.

I feel I am playing at a very fast pace. But I never seem to gain momentum. I have the most kills and most damage so I know I'm involved, I just don't know what decisions I am making or not making that am not turning my decisions into good value. I've peaked GM1 but only once and I feel like it was a fluke. I would really like to maintain that rank and eventually push into champion elo mainly playing soldier. I've seen qrxu do unranked to champion and I know of a few soldier players who regularly maintain that elo so I know I must be doing something wrong. So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate any insight.

Cozy with a little bit of sweat recommendations

I want to play more games with my partner. They are not very adept at games and I'm typically a super sweat. They have lots of fun regardless of what we play but I struggle to get that same feeling and I don't want to kill our quality times mood. So I'm looking for a game where it's super easy, but yet super engaging for someone like me. I like having clear objectives, skill expression, and winning. They're just here for the vibes. If a game like this exists, please recommend it to me!

Devour your aiming rivals

For all of those who've never heard of blue lock, they have this thing in the series called "devour." This is when you take what another person is doing and make their skills your own or adapt to them for your own success.

I can make this concept apply to my aim training. I pick aimers on the leaderboard I respect (or people with really cool names who I have one sided beef with) and copy their sens for scenarios I'm training that day. One of my favs is hydroboy. I first saw him send in a vod review sniping MattyOw while matty was streaming. I see this aimer everywhere on scenarios I enjoy. So I copy him and try to aim like him. It's especially useful if the sens feels awful to play. Because that means not only am I training like someone better than I am, I'm addressing a weakness as well.

So if you don't have any ops on the leaderboard yet. Go find yourself some and devour them. Next, profit

Is there a chart or breakdown like this for Viscose S2?

There's an expert category now. Am I to assume it starts at astra and goes beyond celestial? Or is there an official conversion put out?

u/RnImInShambles — 2 months ago

Fav less popular benchmark?

What are your fav benchmarks outside of Voltaic/Viscose. Secondly, what is a benchmark that if someone has a really high rank on it, you just feel they're likely cracked? Looking for some inspiration

Why does OWCS only have 2 bans per map?

I'm watching the live OWWC right now and they are only banning one hero per team. Why do they do this? Wouldn't it be better to make it identical to what happens in rank? It could possibly make team comps more dynamic as well. I'm also not super into the scene, so if this is OWWC specific, apologies. But I just think it's strange.

I was accused of aiming like I'm on controller

What does it mean when someone accuses you of playing like you're on controller? I'm on pc and have been for some time now. But in a game where I did well, i was asked by an enemy if i used controller. I told him no, but then he accused me of using one. I'd imagine it's some sort of back handed compliment since I performed well but I always thought controller people had worse aim by stereotype. So I'm not sure what to think. Have any of you pc players got controller accusations? If so, what does it mean. Game ended before I could get clarification

Critical Hits/10min

These are my stats right now in GM5. Any advice on how to get more crits/10? I feel like I can aim decently enough, but for some reason when I get into games I'm a body shot demon and I'd like to fix it. The higher I climb it gets harder. I'd ideally like to hit a goal of 60/10. I feel like I don't always know when I have enough time to line up my crosshair due to the pace of the game being faster. But if there's a practice method or idea to keep in mind, i'd love to hear any feedback from any aim demon lurkers

28 M NA EST lf friend/group

Hello everyone. I'm hoping to find someone to game with as my previous friend group and I don't really play together anymore and I definitely don't want work to be the only thing I have to do. I mostly play shooter games like overwatch. I'm somewhat competitive, but nontoxic as I play for my own improvement and fun mostly.

I have lots of other games though, but I typically gravitate towards the sweaty stuff.

Other hobbies and interests include, reading manga/manwha/comics, watching anime, Star Wars, musical theatre, and fitness (aiming for 1000 pound club). If anyone wants to be friends please feel free to hmu.

Series where character lives a life they're already familiar with

Something like Omniscient reader's viewpoint or tales of demon and gods. Reincarnation manga, or series where the mc knows the environment and is finding his way around scratch my brain just the right way

1000 hours of aim training advice from a VT GM.

I frequent this sub a lot and now that I learned how to play a real game getting GM in overwatch, I figured I'd give my own version of advice out that I don't see too many people speak about already.

  1. There is no objectively best playlist/benchmark.
A lot of people only do one benchmark and grind it all the way. There's really no need for this. The best playlist is one that you make yourself. What helped me the most was vod reviewing my overwatch footage, seeing what kinds of shots I missed the most and making playlists catered towards that. However, the only way you're going to know of good scenarios is to try a bunch of different things.

  2. This level of aim is not necessary.
If you want to just rank up, this is a bit overkill. It definitely helps but playing your game for a lot of hours, vod reviewing, and game planning your weaknesses is the best way to improve. Just like aim training.

  3. Good aim actually made me a bit worse of a player.
I beam people normally, so I just believe I'm winning every 1v1 and I int heavily and die a lot. It made climbing to gm on ow very hard because that's dumb. But I still get dopamine from hitting shots, just like I do on kovaaks, so it was hard to unlearn. So again, make sure if you want to rank up in game it's supplementary to it.

  4. 1v1s are the best way to incorporate aim training to in game.
If you do not already do this, 1v1. Idc if it's your duo who you are boosting or your big bro who boosts you and gives you belt to ass. 1v1s help develop your movement, and pattern recognition or real players. Most people have awful movement, so if you can increase your movement skill along with your aim, winning games becomes incredibly easier because you'll be accurate while being hard to hit.

  5. It's okay to not be balanced.
A lot of people say well rounded aim is best. This is TRUE. However, what is best for you is to practice. I hate static, I have negative fun grinding it, hence why it's only jade. But I grind everything else so much that I do still see improvement, even if I'm bottlenecked a bit.

  6. Skills vs subskills
The best way to learn an aim skill from my experience is to take the overall skill and break it down into smaller skills. So if i'm practicing reactive tracking, first I want to see if I can register it with my eyes, then if I can track it smoothly, and the biggest one is probably changing directions smoothly. Focusing on one aspect at a time can help you see a lot of gains. If you notice one subskill is lacking, play that on an easier version to get that subskill up to par and your overall skill shoots up.

  7. Make friends with people better than you
I've met so many people aim training, and when I was a beginner, I was doing so many stupid things and people helped me grow. Take advice from people better than you are with no ego, and try your best to not only implement it but to understand it and you'll see the most growth.

https://evxl.app/u/Godplex these are some of my scores if you want to verify if what i'm saying is worth listening too. I've grinded VT s5, TSK, and viscose the most. But I don't really do much benchmarking anymore. I just try to improve.

▲ 1 r/Overwatch_LFG+1 crossposts

Looking for non toxic people to grind with. I'm High Masters/Low GM regularly and want to consistently exist in gm on damage and support. Idc to play tank in 5v5. Would be down to try 6v6 as well! Haven't completed placements for it though. I do my best to win every game but I don't use chat much as I don't want to deal with the negatives of it. So I'm hoping to find friends to play with. I primarily play hitscan and I'm flexible on support. Peaks are Gm5 dps and gm4 support. I'd also be down to play casually from time to time for practice but comp is my focus.

I notice I have really good clicking scores in kovaaks. Some VT GM/Lavender/Linen scores but my in game translation does not feel like this level. It feels to me so incredibly inconsistent and I am not sure why this might be. I'll have peaks that make sense and also miss the easiest of shots and lose fights to people nowhere near my level mechanically. I can still perform well with game sense, but I really want to emulate MattyOw's ideology and be an aim merchant. But my clicking is not reliable.

My tracking translates excellently and if I need to aim gap my enemies, this is the way. But I'd like to feel more well rounded in game. I dump hours in game and kovaaks so if anyone has had experience with this dilemma, I'd appreciate any advice on how to train for this. In or out of the aim trainer.

I hate them. Why do i have to kill so many bots. Why do I have to lock in for 2-5 minutes. My attention span is not built for this. I love these benchmarks but holy shit. These gauntlets have taught me that I am a high score merchant because when I can't see the bar I'm a whole lot less interested. I love aim training but gauntlets and static make me wanna skip the journey and get to the destination.

Rant over
