In Pokemon Yellow on the PC I thought “release” meant “release them from the PC back into your party”. I released my Bulbasaur. I hadn’t developed proper game saving habits yet so I had just gone all the way through Mt. Moon without saving and didn’t want to do all that all over again so I had to accept his death. 😭

All I know is when I first heard BxMxC by BABYMETAL and it was 3 J-Pop girls on a Trap Metal track it blew my goddamn mind. 20 years ago i’d think that was blasphemy but now I demanded more and went down the rabbit hole.
It wasn’t even a “fuck this team” gesture, it was a “i’m poor and need to save money and hey this season is lost anyway” gesture, but regardless they’ve won 14 straight games since then. I will continue to not watch so I don’t jinx anything, even if it means I don’t get to be a part of the greatest season comeback of all time. Carry me with you bros and bask in the glory on my behalf.
Never heard of them before at all, saw them in Boston last night opening for Poppy and they completely stole the show. That singer might be one of the best vocalists i’ve ever heard and he can truly do anything and everything with his voice. All of them were performing their absolute asses off and never stayed still for a single second. As a millennial I was thrilled to see the Nu-Metal elements blended in with the Metalcore and everything else they did. Hundreds of shows and thousands of bands the last 25 years and LANDMVRKS is gonna be one I remember forever, would recommend if you haven’t already.
Since we get yearly seasons of The Pitt it feels like i’m always “plugged in” with the characters I know and love and am routinely checking up on what’s going on with them. I know all their names, roles, personalities and what was most recently happening with them so i’m able to jump right in for more.
With House Of The Dragon during that whole epic battle in the first episode I felt nothing because I was just like “who is he again? What was their situation? Oh he died, that’s a big deal right?” so it really makes me apathetic with continuing the series because I have no connection to anything that’s happening because it’s been so long since I last spent time with these people, where with Game Of Thrones we were blessed with yearly seasons so it still felt like we were coming off the heels of whatever insanity just happened and it was like “oh shit now we’re gonna find out what happens next with Tyrion, Jon, Daenerys, etc.”
So yeah, fuck modern TV structures, thank God for The Pitt and whatever other shows keep that model alive.

Is it simply being able to indulge in a crime fantasy, the taboo nature of its envelope pushing adult content, is it the fact that it’s so many types of gameplay in one game, is it the massive and unrivaled scope of its open world, the depth of its life sim elements, the pure freedom that its sandbox delivers, or is it something else?
