Recommendations on what to upgrade?

Hi all,

I am looking to make an upgrade to my rig, but not sure what would make the most sense so curious of what you sim racers recommend. I want to make this as best as I can for sports cars, rallying and formula. Main sims I play nowadays are LMU, AC Rally/RBR and AMS2.

My current setup:

  • Wheelbase - Moza R5
  • Steering wheel - Base moza es steering wheel and formula wheel mod
  • Pedals - Moza performance kit and alien mod to make it somewhat load cell-like
  • Moza handbrake and SHH shifter (h-pattern and sequential 2 in 1)
  • Stand - Next level racing wheel stand lite 2.0

The upgrades I am considering are:

  • Either the Moza KS Steering Wheel or KS Pro Steering Wheel. Not sure how big the difference is between the two and if the 100 difference is worth it. I just feel like I do not have enough buttons on the base wheel and I would not mind something slightly bigger.
  • I'm also looking for a larger round steering wheel than the stock Moza one for rallying that would work with my current setup. I know Moza has a few options, but I'm wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives, such as mods or aftermarket wheels. Any idea is appreciated.
  • I'm also thinking about upgrading to a R12 wheelbase, but I'm not sure if that much force would work well with my current wheel stand or if it is worth the upgrade at all. For the sake of this post if I were to buy the R12 wheelbase which stand is a good pair? Ideally, I'd like it foldable due to space constraints if that is an option.

Many thanks for anyone commenting!

What a game..

I own all major sim racing titles and while I am mostly a competitive multiplayer person I just keep finding myself coming back to this every now and again. The car and track selection is amazing and if you get a good ffb profile it completely transforms the game. I prefer sports cars but the formula content imo is the best out there. If by some miracle the online aspect ever becomes popular I’ll never leave it. I do wonder how far they got the lfm integration. Single player if done right should also be amazing!

Best third party apps/overlays you are currently using?

Hi all,

I am planning to take season 3 more seriously and hopefully gain some iRating. So far I have not used any 3rd party software/addons and got me thinking what I am missing out on. I’m really curious what you guys are using. Im open to either paid or free. Just want to see what is out there

Which is your favourite mid engine GT3 and why?

I already own the Mercedes-AMG and Porsche for front and rear engine categories, and now I’m looking to learn a mid engine car. Issue is that I just can’t decide which GT3 to go for, so I thought I’d make this post to see what you guys enjoy driving and why. I don’t really care about what is considered OP right now, Im more interested in what characteristics of the car you enjoy and which you don’t

Which is your favourite LMGT3 and why?

Hi all,

As the title says, I’m curious which LMGT3 you enjoy most and what made you choose it. I’m interested in opinions from both fixed and open setup drivers. I’m not interested in what is strongest on the current patch. I’m more interested in the characteristics of the car itself and what makes it click for you.
What do you like about it? Handling? Stability? Rotation? Kerb behavior? Sound? Just interested to hear what made you decide on your pick

How to remove brake vibration?

Hey all,

Ive been playing some LMU recently and while I enjoy the sim I cannot stand the vibrations the game produces when braking. It is especially bad in the BMW and Ferrari. I don’t have this issue in any other sim.

I tried reducing the FFB strength but then the driving doesn’t feel right. I played around with the LMUFFB app but no luck. Can I disable that somehow, does anyone know?

Hi all,

I just renewed my iRacing sub after getting a taste for it last year. I’m currently at a C license, having left off there after a month of playing.

I’m looking to buy into some car combos where I can transition between series without the driving style being totally different. like the idea of sticking to the same brand and engine layout to keep things similar. I’m mostly interested in C and B license events and prefer shorter races around the 20min mark due to time constraints.

I am aware that the porsche cup is super popular, but those races are much longer. I feel like I could squeeze in two races in another event in the time it takes to do one Pcup race, which is more value for me. Would I still find good competition in the other series during EU hours?

Here are the pairs I’m looking at. Do these actually drive similarly?

  • Ferrari: 296 Challenge & 296 GT3
  • Mercedes: AMG GT4 & AMG GT3
  • Porsche: 911 Cup & 911 GT3 R

Would love to hear from you guys. Thanks!
