mother's day today. my love language is baking but all the dishes i make are stuff like cakes, cookies, breads, which my mom prefers not to eat because it either hurts her stomach or worries her regarding carbohydrates or calories.

go to console, run the following one after the other:

sudo apt install git

git clone https://github.com/blakeridgway/linux_steam_download_fix.git

cd linux_steam_download_fixcd linux_steam_download_fix

chmod +x steam_download_speed_fix.sh

./steam_download_speed_fix.sh

this should run this github script which runs a program that automatically applies a bunch of steam fixes for your distro

worked on mint as of posting. literally nothing on the forums or on reddit threads was working for me

from what it seems it's still a tad bit slower but it's definitely significantly more bearable than the 8 Mbps i was getting before
