I’m in postpartum, I delivered on 17 June. My husband is treating me well, but whenever my sister in law(his brother’s wife) arrives his behaviour changes.
We had love marriage last year April. Everyone in at my in laws is good except my sister in law. She is very manipulative and selfish. Last year during our Rajasthan trip she wanted all the attention. My husband should always click her and my jeth’s photos, she would give her phone to my husband to carry… (I mean whyyyy…. Don’t you have your own husband?!!!?) She is always copying me, my lifestyle, always checking what makeup products I use and buying same products. When I got pregnant and our family visited us in Pune around last December, she confessed my MIL that her bhav is getting low now. Noone gives her attention bla bla bla… My MIL said you’re Jethani so why would having a devrani affect you now.. that is not the case. And MIL is right I feel. Just because she is housewife and I’m working doesn’t mean that her bhav is getting low.
Same time she was always checking on me if
I’m putting something in our food so that, that could justify everyone being on my side.. you know like doing some kala jaadu… why would I do something like that??!!! I’m not attention seeker!! I straight away called her out on that and she just refused what she was doubting on me since 4/5 days.
After that our family visited us again in March during my baby shower, and my baby shower was on 21 March and I didn’t have any leave on 20 so I was working that day. My MIL arrived on 19 March and was out n about on 20. My SIL arrived with my jeth on 20, and I was having a meeting so I couldn’t get up and give them a glass of water. Which I feel genuinely guilty for coz that’s the first thing we do when someone arrives. But then she ranted about this to my MIL after leaving from Pune.
Cut to today, she visited me on Sunday 19 July, she brought my newborn son one romper, one onesie and one shirt which looked like they were bought from a local market. And problem is not buying things from local market, problem is she bought such clothes which don’t even seem new and they don’t fit him. Now size is not the matter, mistakes can happen but at least you can buy a decent two piece for the kid!!! I mean he is your devars kid. Now there is one thing that her brother was blessed with baby girl in February this year and my MIL bought her clothes from same market. Jo 100/200 mein mil jaate hai, my husband told me this and we assumed that might be the reason she didn’t buy good clothes for our son. Now, she has a son too, and my husband has done so much for the kid (and he should always do it coz he is our family’s son) Everytime her son visits Pune, my husband takes him to waterparks, malls, buys him cars etc etc like any uncle would do for his nephew, which is fair.
But why doesn’t my husband understand that they should have bought better clothes. We had a disagreement on this particular topic.
Now my jeth and jethani wanted to visit mahabaleshwar today and they wanted my husband to take leave and go with them. My husband got promoted recently and I thought he should politely decline to accompany them. Coz you both as a couple are having this trip to Mahabaleshwar, why would you want a third wheel??? And my husband being dumb as he is went with them, despite of me saying no! And you know what reason she gave to my husband to accompany them, just to click their photos and drive for them on times.
Why doesn’t my husband understand her selfishness??? Why can’t he see through her!!
And I seriously don’t know what to do so that he can understand!!
Sometimes we are always giving selflessly but the person whom we are giving should also know how to reciprocate. We can’t always be forgiving.
What can I do to tackle my SIL??

My one month old son doesn’t sleep without feed and after feed we need to burp him. Burping wakes him up.🥴 We tried pacifier but then it has become a habit. Any suggestions?
