Fedora – Cowboy Style
Howdy. I restyled one of my fedoras into a cowboy hat by stiffening and shaping the brim with laundry starch. I removed the wide grosgrain ribbon and attached a narrow band made of black-and-white woven straw. The brim measures 8 cm at the front and back and 7.5 cm at the sides. The crown is 12 cm high. What do you think?
I'm sorry, but I had to post it again because one photo was mirrored.

Middleton II in black with a carrying frame
Hi folks.
Here's my Middleton II in black. I bought it last year as upgrade of an Emberton III and love its marvelous 360 degrees sound.
For turning around I use a carrying frame, for which I bought a wider strap.
little Victorinox nylon sheath mystery: Evolution of the 4.0822.4 (Old vs. New)
Hey everyone! I was comparing two olive green Victorinox nylon sheaths, both officially stamped with the exact same model number (4.0822.4) on the back, and noticed several subtle, silent design changes over the years:
The Belt Loop Material: The older version uses a separate, robust black nylon webbing for the loop, while the newer version uses a loop made from the exact same color-matched olive material as the sheath itself.
Strap Stitching & Reinforcement: The new color-matched strap features distinct parallel rows of stitching running along its length for added rigidity and structure, unlike the older woven black webbing.
Hemmed Edges & Construction: The upper edges and transitions are more cleanly folded and hemmed on the newer version, and the top anchor box-stitch is refined.
The Pull Cord: The pull cord on the newer version is a darker, deeper green, whereas the older one has faded slightly over years of use in the sun.
Does anyone know when Victorinox made these silent updates? Were they all introduced around the same time, or phased in gradually? Would love to hear your insights on the timeline of this evolution!
I finally did it: CyberTool 34
Hi folks,
I've owned a Ranger for over 30 years and I'm very happy with it. But sometimes I missed having pliers.
I didn't want to replace the Ranger with a Handyman because I'm very attached to my Ranger.
Then I discovered the CyberTool M, which, apart from a few duplicate tools, represents a perfect complement to the Ranger while still remaining reasonably manageable in size.
I found an older, technically identical CyberTool 34 in absolute unused mint condition and bought it for just under €72. Original packaging and oiled, stiff, but still as smooth as fresh from the factory—truly amazing for a never-used SAK that is at least almost 11 years old.
For the Ranger and a sharpening tool, I use the 4.0822.4 nylon sheath. However, since this wasn't available for under €24 and quickly enough, I bought the 4.0838.4, which is intended for the very large SAKs, for €19. Since the pouch itself is exactly the same size as the 4.0822.4 and only the closure flap is longer, I folded it over, glued it, and sewed it. In addition, the 4.0838.4 is slightly narrower, so the CyberTool 34 fits into it perfectly.
Long story short.
Anyway, I now feel well and fully equipped with a Classic SD as my EDC, the Ranger as the ultimate choice for on-the-go, and the "new" CyberTool 34 for smaller repairs.
Black F-91W with the original metal bracelet from a silver F-91W
Hi folks, I’ve been wearing a Casio watch since the 1980s. Here is one of my F-91Ws, fitted with the original metal bracelet from a silver F-91W whose case broke after about 30 years.

Casio F-91W with new Silikone strap
Hi Folks, I have been wearing a Casio watch since the 1980s. Since the original straps kept breaking after a while, I bought a soft, tear-resistant silicone strap where the loose end tucks in behind the buckle section. That way, it doesn't get snagged on anything anymore.

Hi Folks, this is my original Wicke Agent James Bond Schnellfeuerpistole 007™ (Walther PPK) toy pistol from 1992. It still lacks the red plug in the muzzle and, using the old 25-shot ammo strips (caps), is still genuinely loud. / Art.-No. 0382 / D-4320 Hattingen / © 1992 Eon Productions Ltd. MAC B, Inc.
