Is this the most underrated nuclear warhead design? (W33, USA 1955-1992)

5-40 kt yield; only ~243 lb / 110 kg in weight; small and robust enough to fit into an 8-inch / 203 mm artillery shell; oralloy pits; single-stage design (with tritium gas boosting in higher-yield variants).

Why didn't we see more of these boosted gun-type weapons developed by other nations? I could even imagine fitting 8 of these onto an ICBM and using them as a strategic weapon.

How is Peugeot still this bad?

They were one of the first teams to join the Hypercar series and are a manufacturer-backed effort. How is it that Peugeot still ends up at the back of the field in the most important race in their own country?

I'm not trying to hate, I'm just disappointed.

How many of you have already watched Thomas' new set on The Lot Radio? I'm not even completely through it yet, and I'm already amazed. Whether it's ballet, performance art, or a DJ set, I'm always excited to see more from Mr. Bangalter!

What's your opinion on France "sharing" nukes with Norway?

Imo., this is basically just a political gesture with almost no real strategic consequences. The reality is that nuclear "sharing" has never really worked. The Cold War clearly demonstrated that. At the end of the day, France is the only one that decides whether its nukes will be used, and this treaty won't make it any more likely that a French president would risk Paris getting nuked to protect Oslo. So, in practical terms, the treaty seems largely meaningless.

That said, I generally appreciate France's more assertive foreign policy. But this just looks like a cheap way of externalizing some of the costs of France's nuclear weapons program.

What's your opinion on this?

And before the mods get angry with me: yes, there's r/nuclearpolitics for these kinds of posts. But this sub is still tiny, and r/nuclearweapons doesn't allow crossposting, so it's difficult to direct people from this subreddit to r/nuclearpolitics. I hope you understand.

What is your opinion on extensive tuning and coachbuilding based on the 911?

And why does the 911 seem to be such a common base for tuners and coachbuilders? You don't see nearly as many restomod or specially engineered high-end tuning packages for other sports cars like e.g. Corvette, AMG GT, BMW M4, Dodge Charger etc.

What are Iran's opions to build nukes right now?

I know I'm kind of asking the million-dollar question here, and I'm sure not even the CIA or Mossad know exactly what Iran's options are rn., but I think it's interesting to speculate.

So what can Iran actually do right now to get its hands on nuclear weapons?

When listening to the US administration, it sounds as if Iran's nuclear capabilities were "obliterated" three months ago during the initial B-2 raids. The fact that the conflict restarted just a few months later, combined with all the talk and rumors about a new nuclear deal that may include the transfer of weaponizable material, seems to undermine that narrative.

So, applying Occam's Razor, what do you think is the most likely state of Iran's nuclear weapons program right now? Do they still have fissile material buried under the rubble somewhere? If so, how long would it take to recover and weaponize it? Does the Iranian regime still have the organizational capacity to achieve this without foreign intelligence services interfering?

UPDATE: Gesperrt auf r/de wegen moderater politischer Meinung

Teil 1

https://www.reddit.com/r/de/s/kU95PsnlRe

Das Resultat: "you've been banned from contributing to this community".

Was sollte ich eurer Meinung tun?

Edit: Formatierung, Typo

One of 18 Audi Aztecs (1988) at Audi Museum Mobile, Ingolstadt

From Wikipedia: The Aztec is a sports car introduced by Italdesign at the 1988 Turin Motor Show, to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the firm. The two-seater is unique because the driver and passenger are separated, requiring the two parties to communicate electronically. It incorporates a speedster body style with partial visor sections which are removable and open in a gull-wing arrangement. It was fitted with a turbocharged Audi engine mated to a four-wheel-drive system derived from the Lancia Delta HF Integrale.A Turin-based trading company called Compact srl bought the rights to the Aztec and planned to build 50 examples, to be sold exclusively in Japan. Carrozzeria Savio was contracted to build the cars. According to most sources only 18 cars were ever built, although some sources simply state the production number as "less than 25". Italdesign's initial plan was for the Aztec to be fitted with Audi's then-new, 3.6-liter V8 engine. As the V8 was not completed in time, an Audi-sourced five-cylinder DOHC engine was used instead. It produces 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp), although the car carried a prominent "250 HP" badge on the flank. Many cars were indeed fitted with boosted engines producing closer to that number.

The car incorporated futuristic styling cues with many features ahead of its time. The car had control panels on both sides of the car at the aluminium body panels at the rear and upon entering certain codes into the panel, information and about the car's performance status along with certain functions of the car (i.e., an extra set of lights, hydraulic jack, removable screw driver, a fire extinguisher, a compressor for inflating tires and a flashlight) could be accessed via a voice message. Inside of the car, the car was wrapped in a leather interior and there was a separate instrument cluster for the passenger shaped like a steering wheel displaying vital information about the car and containing damper controls and communication controls along with engine timing controls. The car also incorporated a satellite navigation system located in the centre of the dashboard (positioned more towards the driver). The design of the car is inspired by the space technology rather than the organic technologies used in that era while the LeMans inspired wing mirrors gave a nod to the aspects of motorsport. The car incorporated an adequate luggage compartment in order to carry the normal luggage of the occupants while being true to its futuristic theme. A carbon fibre rear wing optimised for downforce and roll-bars for safety of the occupants were also installed.

Can someone explain why CinemaxX Regensburg has this weird seating arrangement at the front?

Doesn't it feel strange sitting so exposed right in the front row?

Hey r/orchestra, I'm pretty new to classical music and recently attended a philharmonic orchestra concert for the first time. A family member who plays in a band told me this was basically a "standard" philharmonic orchestra, but that there are also other types of orchestras, like wind orchestras, which rely more on brass instruments instead of strings like violins and cellos.

That made me curious: what different types of symphonic orchestras are there? So far I only really know about the "normal" (string-based) orchestra and wind orchestras. What are the main differences between them, and how can you tell which pieces are best suited for which type of ensemble? Also, which kinds of orchestras are typically used by different composers? I vaguely remember reading that Mozart used smaller ensembles and would sometimes conduct while playing the violin, while action movie scores tend to favor big brass sections for a more intense, aggressive sound—but I might be getting some of that wrong. There was also a reel in my feed about a practice called "doubling the orchestra," which apparently is used to make the orchestra sound more powerful. What is that about?

I'd really appreciate any insights!
