The blue Grande Tapisserie dial does something special in harsh daylight, goes almost electric!
Missiles were being intercepted above our heads. Real ones. And yet airports stayed open, schools ran, life continued, three of my cousins got engaged since March and 2 of my friends as well! Mabroook if you are reading this 🥰
When people posted about that, a full restaurant, a normal Friday, some Reddit users called it tone deaf or toxic positivity. Just look at my post from last weekend where there was a big line in Dubai Mall, the AP Swatch chaos and people being in lines from the evening before…and it’s labeled as toxic positivity!
That’s not fair.
Positivity isn’t toxic when it’s backed by reality. The UAE’s defense systems worked. Civil infrastructure held. The government kept things running under genuine threat.
Acknowledging that isn’t denial! it’s honesty.
Yes, there was impact. Tourism slowed, hotels and restaurants felt it, families decided to leave, individuals didn’t feel safe left. Nobody serious was pretending otherwise.
But there’s a difference between acknowledging difficulty and doom-scrolling through it.
Most positive posts weren’t ignoring the situation, they were also choosing gratitude alongside awareness.
We live here. Missiles were intercepted above us. Life went on. That’s not spin, that’s actually impressive, and it’s okay to say so.
The country held up its end. Recognizing that isn’t toxic. It’s fair, hate it or love it… it’s the reality!
I am new to VC and I have been exploring the overseas collection. I went to the boutique today and respect on how they welcomed me and went through the collection and got an opportunity to try on East and West and ended up adding the East to a wish list. No purchase history and it seems I might have an opportunity to get this (1 to 2 years wait)
So… Eminem was right? Seems that MJ just got away with it and the song Antichrist 2005 could basically be part of the documentary.
Thoughts?
[Outro: Eminem & Bizarre]
(Shady, Shady, Shady, Shady)
Get it? Like- (Not... not cool, man)
No, it's- (Not cool)
No, like the devil? Like- (Nah, nah)
Like Shady? Haha, like- (I don't get it, I don't get it)
Come on, it's funny, right? (Nah)
Oh, but Bizarre can say it (Dawg)
What?
(Dawg, I might fuck a Pitbull in his ass, or rape my grandmother, but Goddamn)
But it's a joke! (Mm-mm)
It's a joke (Yeah right)
They represent the same mission archetype! 57 years apart. The “dress rehearsal” missions. Apollo 8 proved the path to the Moon. Artemis II proves the path back.
Apollo 8 — lunar flyby, no landing, prove the journey.
Artemis II — lunar flyby, no landing, prove the journey.
The Speedmaster flew with Borman, Lovell and Anders in 1968. The Navitimer Artemis II carries the name of the mission that picks up where they left off.
Two watches. Two eras. One unbroken thread of human ambition.
The dress rehearsal missions never get enough credit. But without Apollo 8 there’s no Apollo 11. Without Artemis II there’s no Artemis III.
Some missions don’t land on the Moon. They land in history.
Let’s see if this will be removed from this sub, since it got removed from the other! I’ll use my power to post it here
Just saw the movie!
Comparing MJ to Eminem, MJ did not struggle to get the fame, his goal was to become famous and not the best talent out there….
What made me appreciate Em even more, where he has always been about being the best and polish his skills and not chasing the fame.
I am an 80s kid so MJ was definitely a massive hit growing up and MJ is much more recognized
But seeing the history and how MJ made it, I say kudos to Eminem
