So my daughter is in Argentina traveling
and wanted to send excess USD$ back to Australia. We’ve never used Western Union before. I said let’s just send a small amount to start with to see how this system works. But The WU agent insisted that the USD$500 (cash) had to be changed to the Argentinian Peso first and then sent to Australia - to then be converted back to AUD$. The Argentinian Peso is one of the most volatile currencies in the world - currency exchange won’t even touch it. Is this normal WU procedure to do a double exchange? From USD$500 she lost about USD$80 in the first exchange - by the time the money arrives in my account they’ll be even much less left? What even the point of using WU?
Australia: I remember the days not that long ago that if you needed a toilet when out and about and there were no other options McDonalds was the fall back choice. Their toilets were renowned for always being clean, fresh and spotless. These days I go inside any of them and they look and smell worse than a Calcutta long drop - totally stinking putrid! Why has this happened? I simply won’t use them anymore.
As stated. Is there accomodation for a few days to safely immerse ourselves into Comuna13? No budget can stay with a family.
Discovered today that Australia Post (AP) is now discontinuing its contract with Western Union for international money transfers over next weeks/months. Does anyone know a non-AP Western Union ‘branch’ in NE Melbourne?
As my title says - where can I buy it? I only want about AUD$140 or so.
I’m trying to find a pair of discreet ‘invisible’ crotchless panties in white with lace/satin or lust lace. I think they’re called invisible or hidden crotchless - almost unable to tell they’re crotchless. Can’t seem to find any in white.
Has anyone done this? We just want a short trip (10~15mins) to look at the falls from above but we don’t want to fly in a Robinson ‘widowmaker’ helicopter. Do they have flights where you pay per seat and not the entire helicopter? Where take off/land? Brazil side or Argentina side?
So I’ve been playing around with the Aerolineas Argentinas booking website (domestic flights) over the past 24hours and I noticed a huge difference in airfare prices if I selected between the US English translation (USD) or Argentinian English translation (ARS) I tried many times using a conversion calculator and it was the same outcome. The Argentine English choice was significantly cheaper for some reason for the same flight/ticket! Weird.
We’ll be flying in from Ushuaia (after a month in Patagonia) to Buenos Aires and spending 4 full days in BA. Then on to Iguazu Falls. Are 4 full days enough to dedicate to BA on a first trip?
We will fly into Puerto Iguazu at 9:30am (from BA) then drive/stay at Belmond hotel (Brazil side) inside the national park for one night. The next day we’ll head back to the Argentinian side for a full day. 3rd day depart back to BA at 5:30pm. Does this sound okay or too ‘rushy’? Or should we reverse the order - put Belmond hotel last?
Amazing collaboration for their short existence. A shame the way they ended it.
I’m watching ‘KLF - America’ right now.
+Apocalypse Now - uncut helicopter attack scene. Francis Ford Coppola
+Heat - shoot out scene. Michael Mann
+Blackhawk Down - initial helicopter raid. Ridley Scott
+Full Metal Jacket - Inside barracks scene. Stanley Kubrek
Edit: Proper, technically complex, real action movies not digital SFX shit.
We installed a new kitchen about 10years with extensive and expensive black granite. Unfortunately over time there's now several chips, a 25cm crack and several very thin hairline cracks (almost unnoticeable except in certain light). Has anyone ever had granite repairs done? Was it expensive? Was the repair quality excellent?
Last year we spent a month in Nepal including on a 3 week 3Pass and Base camp trek way up in the Everest regions where we exclusively stayed in Nepalese family run 'tea-houses' (guest houses) that typically include a largeish, rustic dining room with meals etc. Every Nepalese family we encountered owning and running these loverly tea-houses were just honest, loverly, calm, 'beautiful' people. But one thing we noticed was whenever Indians trekkers or Indian trek groups (typically always about 25~35 yrs old) arrived to stay the Indians were always SO super rude, condescending and demanding of the Nepalese tea-house families during their stay. It wasn't a one-off it was every Indian group and/or individual that we encountered almost everyday staying at the tea-houses. They were fine and generally friendly to all the other foreign trekkers/guests in the tea-houses but just not to their Nepalese hosts. Why is this? In Japan this is called 二面性 two faced. We were really shocked! Almost stepped in a few times to tell them they were WAY out of line - but held my breath. Left a bitter taste in our mouths.
I’m after an extremely high cut one piece swim suit in a particular style but can’t find it. By default/design extreme high cut one pieces are always a g-string or thong back but I loath that look in a swimsuit. Now I have once seen other one pieces that are extremely high cut in the front but the material passes under the crotch area and then slightly ‘spreads’ across the bottom like a small and cheeky brazilian cut (not g-string or thong) then ties or buckles around the front above the waist to be able to create that brazilian back look on the back. It’s a little unusual to put on. Does this style have a name and can anyone recommend some websites ‘cause I can’t find any. It’s a very sexy look. Any budget is okay.
I was caught out speeding through one of those fixed overhead speeding cameras at 4am - I was still a little sleepy and there were zero other cars on the road - should have know better. I was probably doing 67kmh in a 60 zone but I saw the double flash of the camera strobe as I passed. My question is how long after the violation should I expect to get the fine in the mail?
Is there any aviation company in Santiago that offer a scenic flight over Aconcagua?
Over the years and many trips we’ve always shipped many, many boxes of souvenirs/ceramics from Japan back to Australia by Japan Post (JP). JP boxes up to 10kg each and sent by ship (6 weeks) - all items individually itemized for customs. I’ve heard JP has now ceased this service - is this true? If so are there any other options?
If we book a fully refundable fare with $added 23kg baggage and added $seats etc. and we cancel is it actually a fully refundable or do we only get the very base fare back? LATAM - I can’t find any definitive answer.
