I've had a cough lately. Today I moved a box under my work desk at home, and found black mold around the air register. I sit here several hours a day.

The box was only slightly covering this air register for a month or two, had no idea it could cause all this. It's been really hot and the central air has been running constantly, so I guess there was condensation buildup here. Fuck my health I guess

Whoever told me to put onion soup mix into roasted potatoes... I would like a word with you

You want to come over to my house and have some dogshit looking ass potatoes?

I boiled the potatoes first cut them up and then switch them over to a frying pan. Once I saw them starting to get brown edges I added onion soup mix as was recommended to me. Well this had the effect of clumping up, retaining moisture and actually preventing further browning. Now I have is a bunch of dog food ass looking potatoes that no one wants to eat, and they have no flavor.

Anyone wanna offer advice on how I went wrong?

Is IHOP owned by private equity or is that just the vibe?

I tried asking the one employee (hostess/waitress/chef/manager) but she was too busy bussing the tables and cooking the food.

Songs where the singer makes a threat against someone's life

Coheed And Cambria - In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth 3

Eminem - Kim

I'm not gonna go into details out of worry about triggering reddit's "stupid authoritarian" cowcatcher

The way my roommate stacks the knives to dry in front of the cabinet door

One day I'm going to forget when I go to look for a bowl, and I'll have to run

Screw you all, I made "cold brew" ramen

This turned out WAY better than I thought and I think it's worth a try if you are a fan of texture

In response to some of the haters I decided to sacrifice one of my Maruchan bricks for the cause of science

I used some of the Kirkland Tonkotsu broth, which is lovely but has CHUNKS.

I threw some in a bowl with a brick of boilerplate Maruchan chicken. I let them get to know each other for 1 hour.

Then I strained the brother and nuked the fuck out of it for five goddamn minute.

Then I combined the noodles with the brot and nuked for 1 minute.

Then I added sesame oil, sesame seed and tiny seaweed rectangles. And CRP from the local pizza place. You down with CRP?

And a Redbeard. Goddamn I'm drunk.

Then I used my mid life crisis chopsticks for when you wanna pay $20 per chopstick

Anyway the noodles occupied all available space and didn't get soggy as others predicted. I am eating it now and. It's good. Feels more expensive somehow..

Feel free to hate me, just...
Steep those noods. And let me know how it goes

Love

Anyone else "cold brew" their instant noodles?

To make a very long story short I have some broth to use up and don't want to eat instant noodles right now, and was thinking of just pouring room temperature broth on some noodles and letting them soak for hours. I will eventually heat them up, before eating. Or maybe I won't?

Anyone ever try this?

edit: thank you for all the DEATH THREATS over DM!

Am I wrong for wanting to skip my sister in law's graduation cause I think she's incredibly rude?

I'm a 42m living with a 37f wife, we have two young kids. Right after my oldest was born 4 years ago, my sister in law (23f) moved in, we will call her Mary. It was her first time in the US, she is from East Africa and was starting college for engineering.

Fast forward four years. Currently, she is wrapping up and about to graduate, but we aren't on the best of terms. It was about year two that things got awkward for us. I wasn't really myself because my mom and brother both passed away, and I have been working two jobs the entire time, and the only real support I got was from my wife. So, I acted weird a lot. I have a dry sense of humor that doesn't translate well, I guess. Nothing sexual, just depressed person stuff that likely pushed her away. Also I couldn't reconcile whether to be a father figure or a brother figure to this young woman, the age difference was a problem, so we just kinda stopped talking, and as she got friends locally she started spending a lot of time on the phone with Airpods in, multiple hours spent in her room with the door locked, and sitting on the couch with resting bitch face and shutting off her environment. She did/does this to her sister as well. I gave up on us ever really being close, and made peace with that fact. Some people just don't end up as friends.

Fast forward to last Christmas. My dad is over to the house for a quick visit, and she leaves her room and walks right past him. This triggered me. I could deal with her rudeness to me, but to my dad? I brought it up immediately, and she tried to lie and cover for it by saying that she did say hi, but quietly. I just told her to please next time make an effort. My wife and her family also had talks with her, allegedly. (I don't really talk to her much, just hello and goodbye.)

But I was mad about it. I shunned her for weeks, even avoiding her for her birthday. I just was done putting forward any kind of effort. My wife recommended that I put effort in, and she doesn't know why she acts the way she acts, either. "I don't really know her well," she said.

And now she is about to graduate, and throw this big party, and I just plan on distancing myself from it as much as possible as I wait for her to eventually move out.

Note she has never paid rent or utilities, I've never asked. Her father pays her tuition. All the money she makes at a part time job is hers. And thank god she has a car and pays for that. But she will clean part of the house once **quarterly**. She will do the dishes once every three months. She will occasionally cook a big meal-prep for herself and leave stacks of dirty dishes for me to clean up. To her credit, she does watch the kids occasionally, which is appreciated but not something I ever feel I can ask her to do for *me*.

So AITA for shunning her? I get that some people just don't get along, but I feel like she is rude af, and not really appreciative of all the help and support over the now *years* it's been.
