What did you have in your youth that made your parents say “Count yourself lucky! We didn’t have that when I was a kid!”

I asked this to my mom and she said her mom would always talk about how they didn’t have electric curling irons back in her day. They had to sleep in curlers.

When someone learns that I’m vegan and decides it’s the perfect time for a debate about my beliefs.

Usually I'm down for a healthy debate about veganism. Usually. Sometimes, I just want to eat my lunch in peace. And if I don’t engage in the debate, the other person sees that as a win on their end.

I was at a family get together after a sibling passed away, and a distant uncle saw my meal and started telling me that it’s actually okay to slaughter chickens because of x, y, and z.

Read the room. Not the time or place. Leave me alone.

Vegan Outdoor Rollerskates that aren’t Impalas?

I have a pair of Impala’s right now, but I am looking to upgrade soon to a better pair of outdoor skates. Unfortunately, all the ones I have found have been leather. Do you guys have any recommendations? Thank you in advanced!

(Also, please do not turn this into a debate about the ethics of vegan versus not vegan products. I will not be responding.)

Today I put the final studs on my beloved battle vest.

The back patch was sewn on by a seamstress, but everything else I did by hand. I’m very proud of my work.
