I've been pretty down for a couple of days, so instead of letting it get to me today like all days, I had the wild idea of climbing up to my roof in the middle of the night. It doesn't even have stairs so I went up and used a ladder. And my god, the view was quite good! I could see so many buildings in a big radius. And I know this doesn't sound like a big deal to many but its been months since I myself came out of my house. I guess this was one way, and it felt so relieving! I might do this more, but , FUCK YEAH LET'S FUCKING GO

I literally can't figure out how to get past that block puzzle just ahead, how do I do it?

This movie was... real. I think that is the first thing that comes to mind. It is so unfathomably real. Writing messages just to delete them afterwards. Checking the mailboxes for letters that flew away or never written. Stifling words in throats because they never even looked at you, and crying yourself to sleep afterwards. I am reminded of waves from the ocean, always trying to, but never quite arriving at the shore, kissing its lip just to vanish away. But that probably isn't a good comparison, because here the waves eventually stop roaring.

The cinematography was very good. The animation was good. The pacing is very ordinary- it will be an entirely different experience for someone who wants to be fed the story (nothing wrong with that, but this one demands a lot of attention). The spectacle here is the story: It is told in three parts across the MC, Takaki's life. The ways in which ordinary things that no one would bat an eye to slowly grew them away is just such good writing. Especially when Akari gained the courage to reach out in the end with the mail; it had already been too late. Akari cutting the call before letting Tataki pick it up (Oh my god that is so damn real), it's like she's afraid of what he would say, if he would embrace her back or reject her. And Tataki's smile at the end? Who knows, who knows what it meant.

Lastly, the great deception of the ending song named 'One more time, one more chance.' Goddamnit, I thought it meant they would eventually get together.

But Life has plans.

Jee prep had been fucking me nonstop so I decided to reward myself last night by watching this movie. And oh boy... safe to say I got a damn reward. Such a beautiful movie, both in story and animation. My first 10 minutes became 20 when I was reversing and appreciating each wallpaper-worthy frame. The foreshadowing was eloquent, the characters felt so real. Goddamn, I was so overcome with emotions at that scene I almost cried (and tears don't come to me often so that's a thing).

All in all an easy 10/10 watch, would recommend to anyone, and while it is a short movie to watch I'd recommend you take your sweet time with it, at least the hour that it deserves ;)

Oh, and add it to the most fine fact... it was raining while I watched it all ;D
