Creating a custom, numbered, hex overlay?

Losing my mind here for a way to be able to create a custom hexgrid, just the hexes, preferably being able to number them aswell.

Anyone know a good program or tool for this? I wanna be able to decide the "shape" myself, since I want it hexshaped, not just a "square".

How powerful did your most powerful character become?

At least for me, we usually jump a lot between different systems, play very "slow", lots of oneshots, and the system we have played for a while aren't really games you become super powerful in, like Dragonbane.

So, I was wondering, what's been the most power you have been able to wield in a game?

Free League Unbound - Free League creates their own digital platform, same developers as DND Beyond. Thoughts?

Free League Unbound

Probably not something I'm going to use myself, but might just be a grumpy old man. Missed opportunity not to use the technology we have available to us of course. But I prefer physical books, I'm lucky to have a ton of friends who share my interest, so I can play in person though.

I don't like the trend towards subscriptions everywhere though, but I also trust Free League not to this compromise their actual products. Best case scenario, it will just make their games more accessible for people just joining their hobby.

EDIT: Don't see any subscriptions on the page, was just my kneejerk reaction, seems pretty fairly priced and everything from what I can tell, if you're into this sort of thing. Up to everyone to decide of course, but don't wanna trash them for something that isn't true.

Just got Dark Tower, super excited, anyone have experience using #105 "By Mitras Bones Meet thy Doom" as an introduction to it? How do you like it?

What's one genre or setting you have yet to see be done perfectly in a ttrpg?

Or one you thought didn't exist, until you found it.

Besides playing, I've started making some stuff on my own during my spare time. One thing I've always wanted, as a lover of Mafia movies, is a proper mobster game. Introducing Omerta - Roleplaying Game! (PWYW)

I've slowly been working on this for a long time, but with a baby and studies, plus very little experience, it's taken quite a while. It's a simple game, 44 pages long, based on the Mörk Borg system, but deviates quite a bit, especially when it comes to the style.

I've loved Mafia movies for as long as I can remember, as a small kid I watched Bugsy Malone on repeat, and in my early teens I just circulated every mobflick I could find. Now, with my largest passion being roleplaying games (except for my beautiful daughter of course), I thought it was time to combine those interests. Kind of surprised by the lack of a proper mobgame, except for Gangbusters which I've only read about, and haven't been able to track down a copy of.

Anyway, it's not the grandest of games, but I'm still really proud, and hope someone else will be able to enjoy it too! With a budget of $0, it's filled with a mixture of public domain art, and custom made art by a fantastic local artist and his brother,

Also, it's PWYW, so costs nothing for anyone who wants to check it out!

Character Sheet for my upcoming Mafia-themed borghack, Omerta!

I know it differs alot from the traditional, metal astethic of borglikes, it has gone through alot of iterations since I started working on it along time ago, but still really excited to be able to share it soon!

My humble Lankhmar collection for Dungeon Crawl Classics!

Creating a subreddit or discord for your (small) game(s)?

What's your opinion on creating a dedicated place to discuss your products?

I don't really think I have any following, and if I do it's tiny, but if someone felt the urge to ask or contribute anything, I guess it would be nice for them to have a place to do that. If nothing else, a place for me to update about new content.

But it also feels a bit stupid and presumptuous, and would probably be dead most of the time.

How have you guys handled this situation?

Feel free to share your space if you have any aswell!

Say something negative and positive about a game you like and dislike respectively!

I love Dungeon Crawl Classics. But the very oldschool layout, while dope as fuck, and fitting, can make it quite hard to find and parse information sometimes, especially compared to something like Old School Essentials. Same goes for every Borg game to a certain extent, but punk instead of oldschool.

While like a lot of people here, I'm not a huge fan of Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition, and I generally prefer when race in games have more impact (be it mechanically like DCC or in-world like Symbaroum), for a "generic fantasy setting", I think it's races are fantastic!

Also, while not inventing it, popularizing the fantastic Advantage/Disadvantage mechanic I'm thankful for, is great. Popularizing roleplaying in general I guess, alot of us wouldn't be here if it weren't for Fifth Edition.

So let's hear yours!

Edit: Lot's of really interesting opinions, thanks a lot, spent almost two hours reading through them all. Also heard about a bunch of new games, was really interesting to hear about them from this perspective!

Just brought Werewolf: The Apocalypse on a whim. For someone who is only familiar with Vampire: The Masquerade, at good introduction to the lore?

Would love to hear some more about the werewolf specific lore. Pretty knowledgeable with vampire lore at this point, but only have s very vague idea about the World of Darkness apart from that.
