Post I found on my banned acc from 6 months ago: 'Which SS God is which Greek God'
Since G3's story is said to take lots of Greek myth influences. I tried to see if the Gods share heavy similarities to Greek Gods and who they take after the most. Just my personal breakdown.
Starting with the first: War God = Athena + Hephaestus
Athena represents civilised war, wisdom and crafts; just like how War God represents civilisation, conflict and technology. The idea of War God being the patreon of humanity relates to the story of how Athena helped Prometheus get fire from the sun, which he did to improve human life and help them to survive, and ended with Prometheus being heavily punished by the other Gods for it. War God is also the God of life, as she represents the means life uses to survive - by fighting to survive and using knowledge to improve living conditions, whilst Athena uses war to protect her kin and ensure their prosperity. It looks like G3 also included the role of Hephaestus to the War God's portfolio as she is also a great blacksmith (if Anvil is anything to go by).
We then got: Sun God = Apollo + Zeus
Sun God. God of passion, creation and destruction. And there was no god more passionate then Zeus, and Sun God takes after him quite nicely with his taste for Void creatures. But even Apollo was quite passionate as he has his fair share of love tragedies to tell you about. Zeus relates to destruction as nothing compares to his destructive might, and he relates to creation because as the king of the gods he can just take credit for whatever is being made under his domain. But obviously the sun is the reason why anything exist, with Apollo also influencing the reason why the Sun God is also the god of the desire to live - Apollo is the god of music and art, and who would want to live without music and art in the world?
Beast God = Artemis + Demeter
Beast God is god of the moon, beasts and the hunt. Artemis is a huntress, god of the wilderness and moon. They may aswell be twins. And speaking of twins that might make Sun God and Beast God twins too! (maybe). But Beast God relates to Demeter on top of that because Beast God is also described as the God of the cycle of life and death, which is Demeter's job description. Beast God further relates to Demeter because of how part of the Beast God's realm is completely frozen over, like how Demeter intended to bring eternal winter when Persephone was kidnapped. But the connection with Beast God end there as Demeter is the god of agriculture which Beast God is not (War God is responsible for agriculture) as Beast God only represents untamed nature like Artemis.
Storm God = Poseidon + Hermes.
What do you get when a person likes the sea and likes to travel? A sailor! So who are you supposed to worship? The god that will tell you how to not get lost or the god that will stop the sea from being your watery grave? Wouldn't it be easier if the sea god and guide god decided to run a joint operation? Join the the Storm God lineage today! Extra perks include being able to tell the stars for maximum navigation ability whilst at sea. Forget about Poseidon who is the god of the sea, any storm that comes with rain, earthquakes and horses. You won't be needing the traveller, guide and messenger god Hermes either (nor the handbag). The Storm God package provides it all! Including the authority over starlight (not including the sun) and night skies! Terms and conditions apply as we do not have anything to do horses, nor do we provide a messaging service or earthquake insurance.
Heart God = ...Aphrodite? + Cupid? + Mnemosyne??
Being the god of souls, memories, emotions and hunger (and how little we know about them) can' t particularly say who Heart God takes after the most. But they are the god of emotions sooo... Aphrodite? Aidre the follower of Heart God doesn't give the vibe of being a follower of a lust related god but she cared a lot about preserving memories so a follower of Mnemosyne, who is the god of memories (and the mother of the 9 muses) might work. But Aphrodite does respresent emotion quite intensily, and Heart God is also the god of hunger, and people are quite hungery for Aphrodite (even on full stomachs). But with Asterion joining the mix, I'm getting Cupid vibes. Cupid's arrows are able to make anyone love anyone else; you're made to think thoughts and feel ways you didn't before, kind of what Asterion does. Aidre wanted to spread love so she was like a good version of Cupid (minus the invasiveness).
And finally, the one and only: Shadow God = Hades + Thanatos
This is not too complacated. Hades is the ruler of the underworld and uses Thanatos, the herald of death to make sure people die. You could say Thanatos is Hades' shadow and without a shadow you can't die, just like that time Thanatos was trapped which resulted in no-one in the world dying . The way Shadow god curses people to never die as an eternal punishment is reminiscent of how Hades will punish people to perform impossible to complete tasks for all eternity. And how Shadow God created death being the equivalent of Hades using Thanatos the bringer of death. Along with Shadow God being the chilliest of all the gods just like how Hades was.
