How do I style this corduroy tunic dress modestly?

How do I style this corduroy tunic dress modestly?

I put a t-shirt under this then just wore pants, not leggings — wide leg pants. I just have to be comfortable!

It’s perfect for fall but the models are all wearing these with leggings as a dress which is too short for my modesty standards. Hem hits mid thigh.

Would pairing this with a skirt work? Like a long skirt?

It might look good with denim but I don’t have any denim jeans or skirts that fit right now,

Deaf HOH + non naive English speaker = best friends

Humans are so connecting and social. I was mainstreamed. My hearing has been bad lately on my good side. My friend is a naive Russian speaker. She uses wrong words and doesn’t understand American sayings a lot. I miss what she says a lot. But we still make it work!!! I watch her facial expressions and body language to figure out what she’s communicating. I get around ahead of her when she’s speaking to catch it. Last night we were lifting weights. All I had to do was copy her. We had a great time. No hearing required! She’s a great gal!

Fast pass unused at amusement park due to 50 story rides

Took kids to amusement park for the first time. Pre paid fast pass. Older child is right in the age for big rides. We get there and all the big rides are too tall, scary or fast. The latest craze to build the biggest fastest rides makes the entire park not fun even for kids. They made the traditional swing ride 50 storeys high! There’s a similar height water slide that’s a vertical drop that someone was killed on.

What happened to the scrambler? Gravity tron?
Pirate ship swing?

Help Janice?

This is ridiculous!

Waitress shouted at me

It’s a dimly lit restaurant. If I can’t see faces I can’t hear. I’m wearing my hearing aid but it’s turned way down from being in a noisy environment previously. When I said “I’ll have fresh fruit”. The waitress shouted “No it’s either FRIES, COLE SLAW, OR COTTAGE CHEESE”

Keep in mind my hearing aid is BAHA sits on the outside.

I wanted to disappear.

Visit to in-laws coming up

I’ve done the biff method around my in laws for 11 years I’m so sick of it. I never share anything about myself personally and they never notice. Now we’ve been told we can’t stay at their house because MIL’s health is bad she has oxygen hoses running everywhere. My own mother has terminal cancer and I’m dreading when they say anything about it. Like they care when after 11 years of me never sharing anything I’m going through now there’s some event that qualifies for care they will perform it. It’s cringey to me. I’m sorry my MIL is in poor health but now we’ve shell out money for a place to stay during visit in cabin country during peak season. Seems unbelievable to me. Or camp in their yard. Which doesn’t appeal to me in this heat. Does every adult child end up homeless like this just to visit?

TLDR how can I process all these emotions around limited emotionally and physically ill and elderly in-laws instead of ending up crashing out on them.

Mom hates me. Moved on emotionally with new marriage. So I gave my cemetery plot to my friend

My dad died young so he’s been buried for awhile. I bought a cemetery plot next to him at some point in my 30s before I was married. Nmom will be buried next to dad. Now she has health problems. While I was no contact my friend died. I gave my plot to his widow. It was the perfect solution. I can now make final arrangements with my husband and my friend’s widow saved a pile. I was so happy my friends widow accepted this gift.

I showed my face after mom’s diagnosis. I kept visits short under 45 minutes. When I came for a short visit they asked me where I was I said I visited X (my friend). In the same town. Then nmom butt in and said “I would t know X if I bumped into her. I just wouldn’t know X.” As a way to belittle me. But she revealed how unsupportive of my support system she has always been. I have the most supportive friends.

Oh really? Well now Nmom is sick and says she’s dying can’t stop talking about funerals and coffins. Oh really she’ll have to get used to X because X will be visiting a lot due to our friend being buried right next to her.

Lolz 😂

Traveling with hearing aids

First big vacation with my new hearing aid. I’ve had it for over six months. I’m used to it in my daily life but traveling is completely overstimulating. The noises are overwhelming I’m not in my own home. There’s tons of unfamiliar sounds I can’t anticipate. Should I take off my hearing aid? I have 50-60 db loss on that side. Maybe more.

I’m not used to hearing all this. It’s scary!

Edited for a typo

10 months post op on the exo eye sharing success

I’m sharing success 10 months post op I can see in 3d. No one notices any eye turn anymore. I feel like I won $10 million dollars. Getting the eye to straighten was like someone handing me an eye sized diamond. It’s priceless! I’m like I’m never going to complain about anything ever again!
