Been buying from Vijay Bakery for more than 20 years, right from my childhood, but the recent Rava Ghee Cake was honestly disappointing.

The rava grains were clearly noticeable and some seemed uncooked. The texture and taste were nowhere close to what I remember from their earlier quality.

Honestly, Iyengar Bakery makes a much better Rava Ghee Cakes. 😅

Anyone else noticed a drop in the quality of Vijay Bakery’s products recently, or was this just a one-off?

Visited SHAUQ recently. The restaurant has a premium ambience with elegant interiors and comfortable seating. It’s a nice place for family dinners, dates, or celebrations.

The overall experience was good. The service was courteous, and the concept is refreshing. I personally felt the ambience stood out more than the food, but it’s still worth visiting if you’re looking for a fine dining experience in Belgaum.

We ordered the Ghee Tatte Podi Idli, Ghee Podi Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee.
The food was really good. The idli was soft, the podi and ghee added great flavour, and the dosa was crisp and well made. The filter coffee was also nice.
The ambience is clean and modern, more like a contemporary café than a traditional South Indian restaurant. It’s a self-service place, and since they’ve recently opened, the place was quite busy. Order management took a little longer than expected, but the staff were trying their best to handle the crowd.
The pricing is definitely on the premium side, especially for a self-service setup, but the food quality and authentic South Indian flavours made it worthwhile.

Visited Jack Shack at Khau Katta in Belgaum today. Had the Jackfruit Biryani and Jack Ghee Roast.

I’ve had jackfruit chips and other products before, but this was my first time trying jackfruit as a biryani and starter. The biryani was surprisingly good and the ghee roast was quite flavourful.

We ordered the Jackfruit Biryani, Jack Ghee Roast and a Jack Mojito. The biryani was the standout dish for me. The texture and flavours were surprisingly good, and the ghee roast was packed with flavour as well. The mojito was refreshing and complemented the meal nicely.
