An arrangement I am comfortable with for the time being

Gotta add a visualiser
Okay, putting myself out there before I convince myself this is a terrible idea.
I’m 25M from India. I’m into music (probably an unhealthy amount), movies, making weird little electronic tracks, wandering around at night, and getting stupidly invested in random conversations that start with “wait, but what if…”
I like people who can go from talking absolute nonsense to having a 2-hour conversation about life, art, some obscure movie, or why a song sounds completely different at 2 AM.
Not really looking for a huge friend list — just a few genuinely interesting people where the conversation doesn’t feel like an interview. Memes, music recommendations, movie nights, late-night calls, random life updates, terrible jokes — all welcome.
Discord or Instagram would be ideal, but I’m totally fine starting here on Reddit and seeing if we click first.
If you think we’d get along, tell me something about yourself that isn’t already obvious from your profile. That’s probably a better opener than “hey” anyway :)
I’m pretty familiar with neutral tuning, and while I do love it, I’m looking for something distinctly warmer this time around — that vinyl-like warmth, a rich and luscious midrange, enough sub-bass rumble to give things some weight, and a smooth, relaxed treble.
I’d ideally like something that can retain the transient speed and technical ability of good planar headphones while still sounding genuinely warm and laid-back. Basically, I want that enveloping, almost “lost in the music” presentation without sacrificing detail retrieval, imaging, separation, or dynamics.
I also really love a good soundstage, so I’m wondering whether I should be looking at open-backs or closed-backs for this kind of sound. I’m not doing critical mixing or anything — I mostly just want to sit back and get completely absorbed in the music.
So what headphones would you guys recommend around the $500 range? And would open-back or closed-back make more sense for what I’m after?

Ideally, I’d love something that combines that warmth and relaxed presentation with the transient speed and technical precision you get from good planar sets. Basically, I want something genuinely warm, intimate, and laid-back without sacrificing detail retrieval, imaging, or separation.
And yeah, I absolutely love a good soundstage, so width and a sense of space would be a big plus too.
Preferably over Discord, but Reddit is cool too.
25M from India. Into music (way too much), IEMs/audio gear, movies, gaming, tech, random internet rabbit holes, and long conversations about pretty much anything. Currently trying to be more consistent with fitness too.
If you’re around 19–27 and think we’d vibe, shoot me a message.

Looking for a few people to hang out with on Discord.
I’m mostly hoping to find people who’d be up for streaming YouTube, movies, or TV shows together, listening to music, or just texting whenever. I have a pretty huge offline music library too, so swapping recommendations or doing listening sessions would be fun.
I’m into all kinds of things, so I’m sure we’ll have at least a few common interests.
Life’s been a bit isolating lately. I’m preparing for a central government exam, which means most of my days are spent studying, and I’ve pretty much lost touch with my old friend group. It gets pretty lonely sometimes.
If any of that sounds like your kind of vibe, feel free to send me a DM
Found myself a minimal that I finally seem to like
Okay so it has been 3 weeks since I got these and here’s what I feel.
I want to get a few things straight first. I’m no audiophile and this is my first IEM that I actually own. But I have tried a few other budget sets before buying these: Kefine Klean OG and SV, Salnotes Zero 2, GK Streak and Bunny DSP.
I bought the Cozoy D1s completely blind and I genuinely don’t regret it.
I mainly use MusicBee on my Windows laptop and the Apple dongle DAC on my iPad Pro M1 and iPhone 15 Pro. Around 80% of the time I just plug them straight into my laptop’s 3.5mm jack and use Peace APO for EQ. I definitely need to invest in a decent DAC someday though. Recommendations are welcome.
I don’t know much about proper audio terminology, so here’s what I actually hear.
It’s been around 20 days and I am absolutely loving these.
If your library is filled with Electronic, Ambient, Post-rock, Techno, Jazz or Classical music, I genuinely think these are ridiculously good. I meant it, good electronic albums sound otherworldly
The first thing that stood out to me was the soundstage. It feels surprisingly open for an IEM in this price range. Instruments don’t all pile up in the center—they actually get room to breathe. Ambient textures and long reverbs stretch out beautifully, making spacious recordings feel even bigger.
The imaging is probably my favourite part. It’s very easy to follow individual instruments around the mix. Little background details that I had never consciously noticed before suddenly become obvious. Layering is impressive too—busy arrangements don’t collapse into a wall of sound.
The bass isn’t a basshead tuning, but it has enough punch when the track calls for it. It feels tight, textured and controlled rather than bloated. Electronic kick drums have satisfying impact without smearing into everything else.
The mids sound very natural to me. Vocals sit nicely in the mix and instruments like piano, strings and guitars have a realistic body without sounding muddy.
The treble is where these feel really alive. Cymbals, synths and micro-details come through beautifully, giving the presentation a lot of air and clarity. On really energetic J-pop or brighter recordings it can become a bit shouty for my ears, but a tiny bit of EQ completely fixes that.
Compared to the Kefine Klean SV, these feel noticeably more spacious and holographic. Well-mastered recordings sound phenomenal on them. Soul, Jazz, AR Rahman’s work, ambient electronic music—they’re just a joy to listen to.
One thing I’ve noticed is that these scale surprisingly well with recording quality. Feed them a good master or a good FLAC and they reward you with incredible detail. Bad masters are exposed just as easily.
ALBUMS I HAVE GENUINELY LOVED LISTENING TO ON THESE BADBOIS:
We should talk about music as well on IEM subs because these made me experience a lot of new genres that I would have not explored on my old TWS

Cozoy D1s
Okay so I tried these on my laptop haven't got a DAC yet. I absolutely love it! Although while watching Youtube videos at 50% volume it can sound bloated for a while but once adjusted to 30% it is totally fine.
The vocals sound amazing, so does the imaging and soundstage (as good as the kefine klean, maybe a bit better). Songs like bad guy by billie eilish, Doorie by Atif Aslam, all of Radiohead...sounds phenomenal. These are not so good for Indian classical vocals tho but not like it's too bad, I am saying this after listening closely and someone who has heard hundreds of hours of concert recordings. These are exceptionally good for post rock, metal, jazz, techno and warm male vocals.
It is aesthetically pleasing, but some might not like the purple cable on these. The build is at par with 7k IEMs.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase as of now. Would probably get the apple dongle too.
You can definitely go for these over other overhyped stuff in the budget range.
I did try a few IEMs at the store and one thing I noticed is that most budget IEMs sound pretty similar. I didn't like the zero 2 btw. But gamers might love it.
So don't overthink and just pick one piece that is comfortable enough and in your budget as your first IEM. Overall, I am really happy with my purchase.
Any advice? Or recommendations
