What Are Your Biggest SaaS Learnings as a Founder?

I’m 19 years old and really interested in apps and SaaS. Instead of only watching YouTube videos, I thought it would be better to learn directly from people who have actually built successful SaaS products and are earning from them.

So, if you’ve built a SaaS business, I’d love to hear your biggest learnings, mistakes, failures, and experiences. What do you wish you knew earlier? What helped you grow faster? What should beginners avoid?

I want to learn from people who’ve already walked the path so I can avoid wasting time on the wrong things.

I’d really appreciate your replies. Thanks!

Can Game Trailer Editing Be a Good Career?

I am thinking of building skills in game trailer editing, but I got confused while researching it.

When I searched on YouTube, I barely found any proper courses about game trailer editing.

When I searched on Twitter/X, I could not really find many people calling themselves “game trailer editors.”

I mostly saw some sellers on Fiverr offering the service.

So now I am confused.

Is there actually real demand for game trailer editors?

Or is this too small of a niche to build skills in seriously?

Would love honest answers from people in the gaming or editing industry.

I’m Building a SaaS for Game Devs, So I Need to Know Your Problems. Will You Help Me?

Game devs, what are the most painful recurring problems you face that you would actually pay to solve?

I’m building a SaaS for game developers, but I don’t want to build useless features based on assumptions. I want to understand the real problems you deal with regularly.

It could be anything:

workflow issues

asset management

multiplayer/networking headaches

optimization

marketing

bug tracking

AI tools

Steam publishing

team collaboration

player analytics

trailer creation

community management

burnout/productivity

What problem wastes your time, money, or energy the most?

Would really appreciate your honest input.

I’ve been interested in games since I was a kid. Right now, my financial situation isn’t where I want it to be, so I’m thinking about learning game trailer editing. I’m already a gaming video editor, but that market feels saturated. I also feel that skilled game trailer editors are harder to find and lower in supply.

What do you think? Is there real demand for this? How much do you typically pay for a high-quality trailer? Do you provide assets to the editor, and what exactly do you expect from both the trailer and the editor?

I’ve been looking into the game trailer space, but I’m not a game dev, so I wanted to ask:

\- What’s the demand like for game trailer editors?

\- Do clients usually come back for repeat work?

\- What kind of resources do game devs typically provide (raw footage, assets, scripts, etc.)?

\- How do you prefer your trailers to be edited, and what do you expect from an editor?

Would really appreciate insights from devs or anyone experienced in this space.

Be honest with me — when a new lead comes in, how long until they get the actual quote?

My current disaster:

Get the call/text

Ask about rooms/sqft/pets/condition

Dig through my spreadsheet for rates

Do the math (base + add-ons + "this place is trashed" surcharge)

Type it all into an email

Send it

Follow up 2 days later when they ghost me

Whole thing takes 20-30 min per quote. I'm doing 8-10 a week. That's 3-4 hours just on quotes.

Real talk:

Anyone found a faster way? Template? Calculator? Or are we all suffering in spreadsheet hell?

How do you price the "dirty meter"? Client says "standard clean" but you walk in and it's a biohazard. How do you upcharge without them running?

Deposits — do you take them? How? Venmo? Zelle?

What's your close rate? I'm at like 30-40% which means most of my quoting time is just... wasted.

Would love to hear your process. Especially if you've hacked together something that actually works.
