I often used to send emails with mistakes, to the wrong recipient, or without an important attachment, so I built SoftSend, Chrome Gmail extension that gives you a few minutes to change your mind before sending.

We've all done it: hit Send, then instantly spot the typo, the wrong recipient, or realize you said "see attached" with nothing attached. Gmail's built-in Undo Send gives you 30 seconds max. I wanted more control, so I built Soft Send.

What it does:
Instead of sending instantly, Soft Send holds your email in a local queue for a delay you choose (1 min up to 1 hour). During that window you can cancel it, pause the timer, or edit it. It's "undo send", but on your terms.

It also watches for risky patterns and adds extra delay + a warning when it spots:

  • A recipient you've never emailed before
  • "Attached" in the body with no actual attachment
  • Reply-All to a big group
  • Possibly sensitive content (passwords, card numbers, etc.)
  • An email written suspiciously fast (angry-email insurance 😅)

Privacy: No server, no tracking. Your email content never leaves your device except to go to Google's own Gmail API to actually send it.

Free vs Pro: Everything above is free. The one-time Pro ($14.99, no subscription) unlocks high-risk recipient lists — flag specific people (your boss, your CEO) or whole domains (a client's company) so you get a big red warning and a longer delay before an email ever reaches the wrong inbox.

Hope you find this useful, feel free to try it out and leave feedback on ->

Također prepoznaje rizične situacije i dodaje dodatnu odgodu + upozorenje kad primijeti:

  • Primatelja kojem nikad prije nisi slao mail
  • "U privitku" u tekstu, a privitka nema
  • Reply-All na veliku grupu ljudi

I created BrightNews, an Android app (iOS coming soon) and a Web positive news aggregator app for people who are tired of negativity

Hi everyone,

Lately I felt like most news apps and news sites were pushing the same cycle over and over again: wars, politics, crisis, outrage, and constant negativity.

That’s why I built BrightNews, an Android app and Web app that offers a different approach: positive, uplifting, and constructive news from around the world.

BrightNews is a news aggregator focused on stories about science, health, people, nature, innovation, and meaningful progress. Right now it covers the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The point is not to ignore reality, but to bring more positivity into daily life and make room for stories about progress, kindness, health, discovery, and good things happening in the world.

BrightNews Web app is live on:

brightnews.app

Android app is live on Google Play:

BrightNews

If this sounds interesting and like something you’d use, check it out, share it, and feel free to tell me what you think.

I developed BrightNews - positive news aggregator app, I need help with spreading the word about the app

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on how to promote a hobby project I’ve been building called BrightNews.

BrightNews is a positive news app focused on uplifting, constructive, and hopeful stories from around the world. Instead of the usual cycle of crisis, outrage, and negativity, the idea is to help people discover news about progress, science, health, nature, innovation, kindness, and good things happening in different countries.

The purpose is simple: to make our daily lives feel a little brighter and more positive, without ignoring reality completely.

This is my hobby project, so I don’t have a real marketing budget behind it. I’m building and maintaining it myself, but I’d still love to get it in front of people who might genuinely find it useful. I’m willing to spend a small amount on advertising if needed, but I’d like to be smart about it.

For people with digital marketing experience, what would you recommend for an app like this?

Some things I’m trying to figure out:

  • Which channels would make the most sense for a small positive news app?
  • Would Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, or Google Play ads be worth testing?
  • How would you validate messaging before spending money?
  • Are there low-budget growth strategies that work well for apps like this?
  • Should I focus more on organic content, communities, influencers, or small paid campaigns?
  • Maybe some of you are interested in doing this pro-bono? :)

The app is live on Google Play , if you are intereseted I can send you the link in DM

Any honest feedback or suggestions would mean a lot.

Hi everyone,

I created BrightNews, an Android app (iOS coming soon) and a web app for people who are tired of constantly negative news. The Android app is now live! 🚀

That’s why I built BrightNews, an Android app and Web app that offers a different approach: positive, uplifting, and constructive news from around the world.

The point is not to ignore reality, but to bring more balance back into daily life and make room for stories about progress, kindness, health, discovery, and good things happening in the world.

BrightNews is now live on Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brightnews

I’m building this project independently, so if anyone wants not only to try the app but also support further development, scaling, and future growth, I also launched an Indiegogo campaign:

If this sounds like something you’d use, check it out, share it, and feel free to tell me what you think.

Hi everyone,

I built BrightNews as a hobby because I got tired of how most news feeds are dominated by war, political chaos, outrage, and constant negativity.

I wanted to create a calmer alternative: a positive-news app focused on uplifting, constructive stories from around the world.

BrightNews already exists as a working android and web app, but I’ve now launched an Indiegogo campaign because I need funding to take it further.

The main things the funding would help with are:

- improving content quality and filtering

- expanding source coverage across more countries

- scaling the backend and overall infrastructure

- improving the product experience

- supporting future web and iOS growth

The goal is not to ignore reality. The goal is to create a healthier way to stay informed and give more space to stories about science, health, communities, innovation, kindness, and progress.

If this resonates with you, here’s the campaign:

Hi everyone,

I recently launched BrightNews, an Android app (iOS coming soon) and web app for people who are tired of constantly negative news.

Lately I felt like most news apps and sites keep repeating the same cycle: wars, politics, crises, outrage, and constant negativity. Even if you want to stay informed, it can feel emotionally draining.

That’s why I built BrightNews - a simple news aggregator focused only on:

  • positive and constructive stories
  • science, health, communities, innovation
  • meaningful progress from around the world

The goal isn’t to ignore reality, but to bring some balance back into daily news consumption.

The app is already live on Google Play, and I’ve launched an Indiegogo campaign to:

  • further develop the app
  • scale content coverage
  • improve filtering and user experience

I’m building this independently, so this campaign is mainly about validating the idea and seeing if others feel the same need for a healthier news experience.

👉 Indiegogo campaign:

👉 Android app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brightnews

If this resonates with you, I’d really appreciate your feedback - even more than backing.

Do you think people are ready for a different kind of news experience?
