Overland group

Any interest in a meetup group for camping/ Overlanding and making new friends? Opportunities to meet new folks are somewhat limited past 30 and working from home makes that even worse.

Would be nice to get a chance to meet folks to do maybe a monthly or more frequent meet at a rotating In n Out as a pseudo car club. Grab a burger and shoot the shit.

Eventually be something we can turn into camping trips and a volunteer opportunity to go do lake cleanups of trash and fishing line. Or clean up gun shells in designated shooting areas in the desert. Then camp out and do some target practice.

Gives a chance to partake in the outdoorsy activities and give back to the community.

If you’re interested, let’s get this thing going.

Okta Admin exam

Taking the OCA exam at Oktane.

Anyone take the Okta Admin exam recently?

Is it very similar to the training still as it has been in the past?
What to expect?

What do you hate about your hybrid Corolla? What would you recommend?

What do you love about it?

Anyone have any info on the Hoyer campground up in Greer? Looking to reserve a campsite close to a restroom, but the map doesn’t show them listed on the rec.gov site. Any info is appreciated.

Had to try making the rifle case kitchen.

Used the Vevor 36” case. Aluminum seat back molle panel for the one above the stove so it sits a bit better against heat. Same panel but polycarbonate for the cooking utensil holder on the lid. 10” gas struts. Hinges and cabinet hardware for molle panels from Lowe’s. If I had to do it again I’d use a longer case to store more things. And probably a better quality case. The Vevor case doesn’t line up at the seams well. Harbor Freight Apache case would do.

Just ordered the TopOak Stellar (Galaxy 2.0). What should I expect?

After much deliberation and research I’ve gone with the TO Stellar. Other than the shitty mattress, what gotchas have you run into or tips and tricks?

Anyone recognize this tent? Looking to buy it used

Guy selling it says he doesn’t know the brand of the tent. I’m looking to get one for the truck but rather than spending $2500 and finding I hate sleeping in a RTT, I’d rather gamble $600 on a slightly used one. Any info is appreciated.

Mounted the Apache 4800 with quick release DIY

Mounted the 4800 Apache from Harbor Freight on to my Xtrusion Overlanding XTR1. Used a Minn Kota trolling motor mount from Amazon for $40. After washers, 5/16 hardware and the sealant spent less than $60 to mount.

For anyone curious the extra pics show how the mount compares in size to the 3800 and 2800 Apache cases.

Ordered a second mount and adding another case tomorrow.

Getting creative for quick release protective case mounts.

I’ve got a handful of protective cases I want to mount on to my Xtrusion Overland bed rack. But I can’t justify spending $300+ per mount for quick release application.

These are marine graded and probably just need a little drilling and retrofitting them out to mount onto my rack rails. They’re also built with a locking mechanism.

I’ll report back if I’m successful.

Any other suggestions or experience with a quick release mount?
