Dumb question, but IRL could someone sustain facial injuries like Havik and with help of painkillers, be able to rock this look?

Dumb question, but IRL could someone sustain facial injuries like Havik and with help of painkillers, be able to rock this look?

I was thinking very similar to Nolan's Two Face from Dark Knight, but dont know how medically accurate that portrayal is. Havik's injury seems to be more focused around the mouth and cheek area. Could someone legitimately look like this?

Has a wrestler ever "involuntarily" kicked out of a pin, kinda like an instinct, and regretted it? I'd love to see someone sell the moment. Like "oh damn, why did I kick out?? HOW did I kick out??"

Ok, so im not sure if it happened, or if I can even remember off the top of my head, but I was thinking of a scenario where someone is clearly outmatched against an opponent and being severely dominated.

Just when you thought it was all over and they get struck with a finisher, they someone kick out, but almost as if the last sliver of their consiousness is doing the kicking out, like a pavlovian instinct.

And then the pain immediately resumes with them getting rekt again and again. Almost making you question....why did they kick out in the first place?

I cant think of any specific reason for this scenario to play out. Maybe they wanna show that they can take the punishment? Maybe they're fine getting their ass kicked but wont quit?

The closest I can somewhat think of it Austin vs Bret where Austin passes out, buts not the same. I'm thinking more of a bump/impact finisher scenario. Someone who kicks out even when all hope is lost for them.

Are X-Men Epic Wounded Wolf and Mutant Massacre worth picking up? Are they like, important or well remembered events in X-Men mythos? Please let me know.

Hi all,

My Uncanny X-Men collection stop with Vol 3 of the UNcanny X-Men omnibus which covers Uncanny X-Men (1981) #154-175, X-Men Annual (1970) #6-7, Marvel Graphic Novel #5, Wolverine (1982) #1-4, Special Edition X-Men #1 And Magik #1-4.

From here, I jump directly into blue and gold era of the 90s.

So my question is, are the Epic Vol 13 and 14 worth picking up in case some important events take place, or can I just skip the remainder of this era?

I'm not really a completionist, but I do wanna know if these two epics have any substantial/important content.

I didn't think I'd find Leon's section stressful, as it is more open area and not as "horror" oriented as Grace's section, but man, something about coming back here and THAT MUSIC when you encounter zombies. It spooks me out.

I thought, stress-wise, I'd be way more relaxed as Leon.

Basically felt like the rest of the game would be a breeze, especially after having played the more action-oriented RE5, RE6 and RE4 in prior years.

But man, the moment you encounter those zombies in that warehouse, coupled with the EERIE techno music with weird zombie screams, something just freaked me out. It's as if you're witnessing the haunted remnants of Raccoon City's restless souls.

And the fact that the portion of this part of the game takes place during the daytime/afternoon sunset. It makes it even more scary. The brown washed out level design, the ruined city, the shambling zombies and the music, the damn music does 90% of the scare for me.

I'm sure most of you know the track already, if not it's this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwt5AktbU-o

It starts up some sort of fight or flight mechanism in me when you enter an area as Leon and this starts playing and those corpses start rising from the ground like old-fashioned zombie movies.

As someone who is actually scared of zombies in games and movie media, I didn't feel any less scared playing as Leon LOL. The ganados from RE4 didn't make me this uneasy.

I was a bit harsh on Leon's section of the game on first playthrough, but replaying it, I can see what they were going for. It's basically Leon journeying through his personal "failure" of not being able to save the people and the city, a sort of journey through his own traumatic hell. And it fits.

Also, the guy who composed the music should be praised more. I don't think I've ever truly experience a situation before where the SOUNDTRACK adds tension to the level. It would've been so easy to put a generic rock or metal soundtrack and be like "HUR DUR, LOOK LEON COOL!", but instead they made it actually somewhat unnerving.

Some shots of my Deadman Batman aka Daredevil Batman

One of my fav quirky Batman figs.

u/SolidEllie — 18 days ago

Daredevil Batman? Devilbat?

Deadman Batman figure but I think its more fun to pose as an alternate universe Daredevil of Gotham.

The only thing to do when you have a Deadman Batman figure.

Daredevil of Gotham.

Honestly the only reasoning I had to pick up this strange variant of Batman figure. Its supposed to be Batman and Boston Brand combined, but the first thing that came to mind was this.

u/SolidEllie — 18 days ago

I thought I'd share this take on Daredevil of Gotham. Always loved when Mark Waid's run had a kid call DD "Red Batman".

Two of my fav heroes in one.

u/SolidEllie — 18 days ago

"Look! Its Red Batman" - Daredevil by Mark Waid

Honestly the only reason I got this Deadman Batman variant was to let my intrusive thoughts win and make him a Daredevil/Batman hybrid. Came out looking amazing!!

u/SolidEllie — 18 days ago

The only reason I picked this up. Holy peak Darede....I mean, Deadman Batman!

Since this is basically the perfect amalgamation of two of my fav heroes (sorry deadman....), I needed to have this.

The colors pop so much, and DD accessories elevate this figure instantly.

The figure was already pretty unique but now its legit a 10/10 as far as Mcfarlane goes. Love the shiny wired cape as well. This is one of the funnest Batman to pose.

If you like Daredevil and want a cool companion piece, or ever wanted to imagine what Mark Waid's famous panel where a kid says "Look. Its Red Batman!" meant, then look no further!!

[Krrish] Okay, anyone want to entertain a Krrish discussion with someone who is also an avid comic reader? I strongly feel like the strength of Krrish films were his "street-level" nature. In Krrish 3....they completely ruined him by making him more superhuman. I'd love to talk about this.

Hey folks.

So I recently got the chance to revisit Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, and finally watched Krrish 3 (decade+ later LOL).

I want to say first off that I'm a HUGE comic book fan and religiously love to watch and read DC and Marvel and even some independent comics. I don't really ever hate any superhero stories because even the worst ones, I can somewhat see the merit. I'm very hard to disappoint basically. You give me a trash superhero content and I will TRY to find a way to praise the effort.

The Krrish franchise is very pivotal in superhero resurgence in India, I'm well aware of that. I even remember Shaktiman. I thought he was kinda cool. I love foreign superhero concepts because they are a breath of fresh air.

I'm just prefacing this to say that I'm not going to make fun of Krrish and hold it to Hollywood's standard for comic movies, which they had 75+ years of source material, and bigger budget and the top studios develop.

I mostly judge a superhero story by the "heart" of the character. There are tons of ways to make a supehero caring and fun without over the top CGI.

Anyways, coming back to the subject at hand, Koi Mil Gaya is a beautiful movie, and Krrish is a great 'expansion' of the same universe that futhers the lore in an interesting way. It furthers the lore and the origin of Krrish is pretty cool in the sense that Jadoo's powers manifested in Krishna via Rohit. That's actually a pretty cool origin, very similar to Star Lord if you think about it, born basically from an alien father (I assume Jadoo's powers made even Rohit somewhat superhuman, so one can assume Rohit himself no longer was a 100% human but his DNA or something had changed). ANYWAYS, as you can tell, I love this origin story.

What I somewhat appreciated about Krrish was that, his powers aren't fully explained. We don't know his upper limits of strength or weakness, but I do know he was very much treated as a street-level hero. And I liked it that way.

Think Daredevil, Nightwing, Spider-Man-ish, Batman (kinda). Anyways, all I know is that in Krrish he bled. He could get shot and be hurt. Hell, I remember a bunch of thugs teaming up on him in Dr. Arya's base and he was legitimately hurt.

It sorta made sense I guess? In Koi Mil Gaya, Rohit was extremely athletic and powerful, but he wasn't like, destroying cities and stuff. But hey, I get it, maybe Rohit COULD do it, but he didn't need to. Rohit was never a violent or confrontational person, and only time he used force was to fend those goons off Jadoo. And that too, he didn't want to hurt anyone, just incapacitate them.

In Krrish film, he has some cool feats. Yes, they are definitely not "human", but they're not like, Superman level either. He has heightened stregth, agile, able to leap long distances, and his only real special ability is his power to move really fast. Again, I doubt it's as fast as Quicksilver, definitely not Flash, but we don't know if he's literally a "blur" to his enemies or if it's an effect just for the camera.

Even for street level feats, it makes sense. If you've played Arkham games, Batman can do it. Heck, most superheroes can "move extremely fast", and in the fictional world, that's good enough.

All in all, I loved Krrish. It was a fresh take on a "sequel", it expanded the lore, the stakes were personal (a son in search of his dad), I LOVED, and I mean LOVED Dr. Arya as a villain. He wasn't a moustache twirling dumbo, but he wasn't some random thug. He gave off the Lex Luthor/Norman Orsborn aura. And his "future seeing" machine, while wacky, I could suspend my disbelief. ( I mean, the franchise started with a freakin alien LOL). I even loved the little added lore in Krrish 3 about how Kaal was a result of his experiments. Man, Dr. Arya is a cool comic villain, I can picture him in the world of Marvel or DC. He's legitimately a nice threat, while still being human. The story was touching, and I rarely cried watching films, but the scene with Rohit reuniting with his mom broke me, and I'm not even emotional.

Can we talk about how Krrish 3.....kinda messes the entire thing up?

Why did the plot require him to become a super-human level character???

In Krrish he was more relatable as an everyman who dons a mask to help the street-folk. In Krrish 3 his first feat is to stop a plane. What??? How?? No...

I don't want to rag on the film, I really don't. I went in with an open mind, and I will give credit where it's due, the heart and emotional moments of the film were great. But man, they butchered Krrish's power scale and what made him special.

Here are some things I liked about the film:

  • - The concept of the villain being tied back to Dr. Arya + Rohit experiments.
  • - Kaal's "company". I loved the idea of a corporation causing the virus and then making a cure. Again, very lex Luthor/Osborn esque. Kaal didn't even really need powers, he just needed to be a megalomaniac.
  • - The storyline about sunlight explains more about Jadoo's powers. Wish they went further to explain the power and how it works, would've made Krrish's power spike more believeable.
  • - There is a scene where Krrish saves a kid and has a talk with him on a ledge. I legitimately loved that scene more than most western superhero portrayals. The only other similar scene I can think of is when in Andrew Garfield Amazing Spiderman 1 he saves the kid from burning car.
  • - Okay, as much as I hated the 'Supermanification' of Krrish in this film, Krrish's leaping powers reminded me of Golden age superman who actually COULDN'T Fly and leapt. It was kinda cool to see Krrish basically travel like Golden Age supes LOL.

That's it.

We all know the shoddy X-Men mutant ripoffs, and Kaal's garbage football player helmet outfit. Like WTF??? Kaal had more aura in his wheelchair than out of it. It would've been so cool to atleast have Kaal don a all-white outfit, kinda like the Anti-Krrish. Brother vs Brother theme would've worked much better that way.

But my biggest gripe with the film was them needed to turn Krrish into an all-out superhuman with basically superman level feats. It sort of defeats the purpose of his "friendly neighborhood" persona from the first movie and it also means now his villains will have to keep escalating in power.

I think that hurts the character more than anything. I really envision Krrish as a Daredevil/Nightwing esque character. The stories hit harder and deeper than "Oh my god Krrish can stop a skyscraper falling".

I'd love to discuss the story/lore with someone. I hope this doesn't come as some elaborate shitposting because I'm putting too much effort in this film. If you read this far, know that I only wrote all this because I care about the hero. I think Krrish is pretty cool, but mishanded in the way he should work.

I want someday for Krrish 4, but honestly, if he drastically rework his powers or set some rules as to what they are. Give him some weaknesses.

There isn't enough legitimate discussion on the topic's lore, and mostly just ragging on the film for the sake of it.

Do you think Rhodes Hill staff are all in on the "experiments" and complicit in Victor/Zeno/The Connections crimes?

Was the whole Care center angle a front for Victor blood research? In that case, wouldn't it mean EVERYONE, including the workers and staff were "in" on the whole thing?

I can't imagine hiding such a huge research facility plus the whole inhumane treatment of their patients and all the other violations they must be committing if it wasn't already some open secret (minus the actual patients).

The entire place looks shady as hell.

So basically, everyone working here was already aligned with The Connections/Zeno/Victor in some way, and fully aware of the stuff they were doing?

[Star Wars] Okay, Anakin clearly knew Palpatine was evil and had to be put down, so did he turn to the dark with the plan in mind that he would also kill Palpatine once he learnt of the ability to keep padme alive?

Which would mean that internally, Anakin saw a flaw with the Jedi and somewhat naturally resented them?

Can it be fair to assume that he somewhat agreed with Sidious, but also hated sidious and wanted to overthrow BOTH the Jedi and Sidious in the end??

Was servitude to Sidious ever a goal? I always felt that Anakin was going to kill him anyways.

Reminder: Spiral is cool

She's one of the most unique and best designed characters in comics.

Call me crazy, but I think the role of Ian Kelson might be the role I will remember Ralph by the most, which is crazy because he was in so many good roles, but something about how he played Kelson was so unique and memorable. It's one of the most iconic horror characters IMO.

Zombie/infected media rarely has good memorable characters.

28 Days we got Jim, and we have some iconic ones like Duane Jones/Barbara from Night of the Living Dead, Captain Rhodes from Day of the Dead, Alice from Resident Evil movies, Joel from TLOU show, Shaun from Shaun of the Dead etc. Of course, shows like The Walking Dead have made Rick Grimes and the rest of the cast very popular in mainstream.

Oftentimes they are either famous characters from games, or its usually the infected which are more famous than the individual characters (such as Samson for 28 Years series!).

But can we talk about how unique Kelson's character is? He's the best example of "don't judge a book by its cover". He's so....nice. Peaceful. Serene. Oftentimes in horror movies that's a red flag, but here Ralph portrayed Kelson's character so perfectly.

He's smart, kind, compassionate, caring, and a badass when he needs to be. By the time I finished Bone Temple, I was genuinely sad because I realized I just witnessed an iconic horror character laid to rest.

Its funny now that when I think of Ralph Fiennes, a legendary actor with such a huge body of work and roles, that my mind goes to Kelson by default. Very rarely can an actor leave that kind of impression at this stage in their career.

To me, Kelson is one of the GOAT characters in horror genre.

Plus, I could be wrong, but he's one of the few characters in zombie/infected genre to come close to a successful "cure", without a lab, without a team, heck, without even a group or resources. I mean, that's freakin badass!!

Is HUNK a B.O.W/enhanced? He doesn't seem human.

Specifically in this game's encounter, is HUNK implied to even be fully human? He seems to have inhuman reflexes dodging bullets, not as blatant as Zeno but close. And the dude must be old too, around 50s. So what gives?

Did The Connections hook him up with something? I mean, he IS a bad guy, so it's not like he wouldn't take something to gain a field advantage, but I'm still curious if HUNK is implied to be "human" like Leon, or was Leon basically facing a B.O.W?

Spiral gang, rise!

After all these years I still think she's one of the best figures created. I tinker around with the figure almost every week, and the arms just make for some absolute ridiculous posing. Only downside is the limited head movement, which more than makes up for with the insane range of motion.

Love the colours on this figure as well!

Gives me a reason to use lots of the fodder accessories I have laying around. Easily in my Top 5 ML figs.

We have RE:Requiem at home.

By the way, makes me wonder if the Africa Tricell facility was based on the ARK room from RE9 (assuming the Elpis was in production before the Tricell branch, we do see some Tricell logo containers inside ARK). They look uncannily similar.
