Couple of questions about the Oura app? Is this suitable for me?

Thanks to everyone who replied with feedback about colour on my earlier post definitely gonna go silver. I just had a couple more questions about the app and the Oura ring in general.

- How often does new meditation or other content get added to the Oura app (if ever)? One of my frustrations with Withings (that I use currently) is they bought 8fit years ago, imported a bunch of meditation and workout content and called it a day.

- I believe I can safely wear it in the sauna.

- Can I wear it in the ocean? I’m ok with micro scratches as long as it doesn’t look like it’s been through the ringer. After swimming in salt water i soak all electronics in fresh water for half an hour or so.

- Can I use it as my only fitness tracker? I’ve decided I’m done with smart watches. I run a few times a week (treadmill and outdoors), do yoga and Pilates. I’m ok with getting a Bluetooth HR monitor if I get back into weights. Back I want all my health data in a single platform.

I know it’s optimised for recovery rather than fitness but i don’t track pace, speeds or anything like that with running.

Note absolute accuracy isn’t important. I’m of the opinion that all fitness trackers are inaccurate but consistency and trends are more important.

Ability to delete individual HR measurements.

Withings watches have had a long time known problem of doubling or halving HR measurements. For example, at no point today was my heart rate 210 bpm (as displayed by the range).

Being able to see and delete individual measurements throughout the day would be a helpful workaround to this problem.

Quicklook needs more optiona

Quicklook needs more options IMO.

I have it turned off. I tried having it on but found it was waking me up a lot in the night.

I also have a problem with the Keep display ON during activities option, if the time is such that the hands move out of the way so you can see the screen, when you start an activity, there is no way to see the time again until the activity has finished.

I think 2 different options could solve these problems.

Quicklook could automatically disable itself at certain hours or when sleep is detected.

There could be an “only on during exercise” option for Quicklook.

I don’t mind the current interface (iOS user), but…

2 things drive me absolutely nuts:

- if I’m on the food/diary screen, swiping from the left to the right should take me back to the main screen, it shouldn’t take me back to the previous day.

I haven’t looked into it (and probably won’t) but surely this breaks iOS human interface guidelines. Most apps takes you back to the previous screen.

- when I use quick add, I don’t need it calculating my calories for me at all. If I enter calories before protein, carbs, don’t overwrite my calories for me. And you don’t need to prompt me to recalculate my calories when I save my entry.

First service

Howdy, coming up to 12 months ownership with my BYD Seal, but I’ve only done 12,500 km. Was wondering if it’s still worth getting it serviced or waited until 20,000?

I called BYD customer care, they couldn’t really give me an answer either (lol).

Withings is bad

Hey u/TeamWithings. You guys are seriously amateurs. I just came back to Withings after a couple of years with the Apple Watch, just did a 20 min run and didn’t get a single heart rate reading. I now remember why I ditched Withings in the first place.

The watches are beautiful but every other single aspect of your company is bad. The sensors are unreliable, data is bad, the support is terrible.

Seriously why do you even bother if you can’t get the basics right?

App Screen icons bug

Howdy. IPhone Air, iOS 27 public beta 3.

App Store icons keep spawning on my Home Screen. Up to 17 of them so far today. Quite annoying.

Tracking weights/strength workout

Hi,

I’ve noticed Withings now has Strength and Seated Weights Training workouts. Was wondering what the best practice is when doing weights.

Is it to split exercises up into seperate workouts (eg start/stop for each muscle group) or do an entire circuit as one workout? What if you’re doing a combination of standing/seated workouts?

I’m a bit confused by that workout type TBH!

Withings exercise list

Hi. Thought this might be useful to someone else, obviously, the exercise list has gotten quite long and is a lot to take in. So I asked Claude to categorise it.

I’m not sure who’s logging public speaking on their watch lol.

Hypothetical question.

I already feel like I know the answer to this, but if you started on day one of the Fitness+ release date and s didn’t ever get sick or take a break would it be possible to do every single Fitness+ workout and how jacked would you be if you did?

Lack of iPad app

Does anyone else get frustrated by the lack of native iPad app? I ended up closing all of my banking accounts and moving to Ubank because of it.

I know that the CBA Website exists, but it’s not as good as a native app, and if I’ve got to pick up my phone to authenticate my login anyway at that point, I might as well just do banking on my phone.

Not after any advice (Unless someone is privy to insider information that I’m not) moreso Just a rant.

Gym app to compliment/supplement Fitness+

Howdy. I’m an avid Fitness+ user. I also get a gym membership as part of my employment agreement. Gym workouts is one thing I find Fitness+ doesn’t do well.

Does anyone use a gym/weights working app in this way at all? If so which one? And do you have a set schedule or strategy of gym days vs Fitness+ workout days?

Thanks.

Logging food via Apple Watch doesn’t include a time stamp.

Logging food via Apple Watch now works a lot better than it did. But food logged via Apple Watch doesn’t include the time stamp.

This is a very important detail. Especially because food logged on Cronometer without a time stamp doesn’t export nutrition information to Apple HealthKit until a time stamp is added.
